    I have a 2020 and love it. People may smirk when I say this, but it is overpowered and will flat out get up and go if you hammer the throttle. Very impressive powertrain. My biggest complaint is the gas mileage. It's pretty horrific, even if you drive like grandpa.

    • @cbotten106
      @cbotten106 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      it's not very hard to "overpower" even a well engineered FWD vehicle. Turn and stomp will induce terminal understeer. Assuming it has sufficient power, which this one does. Not much smileage in the fuel efficiency department, my RDX gets about 18.1 mpg with the same V6.

  • @josephpayton9151

    Nahh i think its time for honda to give this a complete redesign. The changes are reasonable but it still looks dated even for a 2025 and the fact that there isn’t a single LED component in the taillight besides that one running light is a bit of a disappointment, considering the a base honda civic has LED’s and this is 52 grand. And yes I agree, having bo hybrid powertrain is a bit of a deal breaker considering gas prices these days and people tend to take these on long trips. But if none of that really matters to the person buying this, it’s perfect.

  • @GarlandTexasSpotter2024
    @GarlandTexasSpotter2024 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +115

    Honda needs to step up their game. No LED taillights, turn signals, reverse lights for 2025? No new style steering wheel, no HUD, full digital gauge cluster for a large minivan? Come on, Honda!

    • @KNRS927
      @KNRS927 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

      I’ll be honest, I really don’t care about full digital gauge clusters since they just add complexity and cost, and if it goes back into purchase price, I’m fine without them. Plus, a lot of the ones on the market aren’t that configurable anyways. I’m just not a fan of cutting costs there and still charging more than competitors.

    • @AyatAlSharif
      @AyatAlSharif 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      Honda America cheaps out everything they possibly can for the American Customers. For example the CR-V in Europe and other region have: Led rear turn signals, Full digital gauge cluster (we get half even with the fully loaded model), Ventilated seats, heated rear seats, fog lamps, ambient lighting, Dynamic front turn signals, Panaromic sunroof and power folding mirrors. North American CR-V’s don’t have any of these features. Yet they charge the money for a similarly but well loaded Hyundai Tucson which has most of the features listed above. Honda really cheaps out for American customers and It’s kind of disappointing. I’d rather buy a rav4 which is a bit more expensive but has most of those features. The only excuse honda can give for charging so much for a super cheaped out CR-V is probably “Space” 🤡.

    • @GarlandTexasSpotter2024
      @GarlandTexasSpotter2024 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      @@AyatAlSharif That’s seriously what I was going to say. Why does the odyssey doesn’t have those features, but the Pilot does? Like come on. Plus, Accord having a 12 inch screen while the odyssey and Pilot don’t is just nonsense. And this sitll has the old VTEC SOHC V6 and not the New Pilot’s 3.5L DOHC 285hp V6.

    you must absolutely add to the odyssey: awd. pano-roof. 360-cam. timing chain. (no timing belt get rid of it. but non-turbo. turbo v4 is not good option. v6 naturally aspirated plus plugin with extra large battery) slow-traffic follow feature. built-in vacuum cleaner must be returned to the car. light-off-roading pack option. (with high clearance and some other light-off-roading features) also needed a additional extra front and other lights females have trouble to see at night (in comparison to men this is biology thing) and vans are driven by many females.

    The cargo measurements are somewhat deceptive in that with the second row folded down, you don’t get the usable space because the seats are not laying flush to provide a flat surface. Frankly, the most usable space is with the third row laying flush. So, that is what I would use when comparing storage space against the Toyota Sienna.

    Refresh?? Six years with the same box 😂. Huge fan here since 2008, owned 4 of them.. Basically same minivan since..Only good thing is Honda has not changed the powerful V6!!

    The infotainment screen appears relatively small and boxy. Too bad they do not offer a heads up display for the driver as an option.

    It's almost sa.e as 2023 or 2024. I hope the bigger issue they resolve caben noise. Odyssey caben is very noisy. I don't think so it's will be most selling vehicle, only the reason they selling more Odyssey because of shortage of other vehicles

    This interior is what the Odyssey should have had 3-4 years ago. Even now that its “updated” its still feels outdated

      Mine starting giving problems after 100K on my 2013. Started getting misfires. Got a "VCM Muzzler" and installed it... everything ok since then, about 10 months.

    During the acceleration test it sounds like they are adding engine sounds through the audio system.

      i don't believe that Honda would do that for a minivan. Google search said it's all natural.

    Incandescent bulbs on a 50k vehicle is WILD. No pano roof is kind of a bummer. Lack of AWD is practically a deal breaker.

    Was waiting for this review - it doesn't seem like it makes sense to spend more money on a new 2025 Odyssey if you can get a great price on a 2024 Elite given the limited updates to the 2024. The cargo (people hauler, stuff hauler)in either beats Pilot, but the AWD in Pilot better for wintery roads. Tough to decide between a 2024 Odyssey Elite and a 2025 Pilot Elite....would be nice to see a Car Confections comparison.... ;-)

    We have a 2008 Touring Model, and we're in the market for a new one. I got some inheritance money coming in that would pretty much pay for one of these in total, but will probably finance a bit of it. Don't really blow it all in one place, right?

    It is a shame that the second row of seats cannot be folded completely. Such a big car, and it only frees up 160 cm for a lounger in the back, It's not enough for a person of average height to sleep in the back.

    The refreshed Kia Carnival makes this refreshed Honda Odyssey look old. I understand Honda reliability but wow Kia’s design team took this Minivan/MPV segment to a whole new standard in both interior and exterior styling.

      Except the Kia interior is less functional. Honda has far more small item space and simpler controls. That new haptic infotainment/hvac control setup in the Kia is dreadful. For real world usability, you can’t top Honda. For glitz Kia is great.

    Looks like they brought Pontiac Transport back. Makes sense since Honda is sharing parts w GM now. There is very little change really, just lipstick on a pig situation.
