CONGRATULATIONS!! And now you get first in your age category. What a difference a day makes. Also makes you realise how special Sifan Hassan is with her back to back racing in Paris!
Well done for winning your age category! Shame I didn't have the chance to say hello but I managed to spot myself in the video so I'll take the cameo appearance. Btw my Fenix 7 measured exactly 10.0km so I don't think the course was short overall but a few markers were 100 meters off.
@@TimGrose Yes but did you see all the podium m60s were faster than me!! I think it was just fatigue from the 50 miler last week. Hopefully I can get a bit quicker in the next 12 weeks
@@laymcintyre yea the overall distance was not too bad. Definitely slightly short. The problem is if it was a gps error then the kilometre splits would come before the course markers. As I’m sure you know the Olympic park course has loads of twists and turns. In that case GPS normally cuts corners. So the more common occurrence is for the GPS kilometre split to ping before the course marker. But in this case it was the other way round. It’s not like the old days with GPS anymore. These devices are very accurate even in poor conditions. Having said that my watch I think did underestimate the course length by about 40 metres. I corrected the distance on Strava and the route still came up about 20 metres short. But what’s 20 metres between friends!!
@ good points.. yeah I remember running the East London Half there and my watch couldn’t keep up with the twists and turns. Always love the videos mate thanks for making them. Really look forward to your race day vids
well done adam, shame no mention of his club tavistock running club or launceston road runners. saw adam a few weeks ago at lanhydrock parkrun which he won very easily.
I run around here a lot. The gps around the track, the velopark and the stadium are always pretty wild for me. We'd have to measure the course on a map for a more accurate idea of distance. The hills GAP is about 3seconds faster. I think probably another 2seconds for the windy conditions. Tricky course but a lot of fun. In fact i'm going to measure it on google earth. If it comes up wildly different you'll hear from me again.
Funny how expensive a free race ends up being after things like travel, parking, etc gets added on, quite often it's cheaper to do a paid for race closer to home
@@FilmMyRunlove your content, however you’ve been running these long enough to know that measurement on the ground trumps GPS data, especially considering the number of race entrants in such a small area all using the same satellites! IMO we need to stop taking GPS as gospel. Much love 🙏

Well done Stephen 👍I enjoyed the vid😃 Well done Adam 👍another day another run 👍💪
Tango is a beast, easily destroyed me at a trail race last year 🤣🤣 Great video as always

I just did that ‘correct distance’ thing on Strava. My watch originally said 9.94 but after that it went to 9.99 which I guess is acceptable.
Well done Stephen 👏
Did Marine Parade parkrun a couple of years ago and Adam "Tango" did 17 mins on sand!!
Was about to say getting old LOL but 19:21 day before and 1st M55 here is good going.

Well done Stephen, and to Adam for the win! Out of interest what camera are you filming your runs with these days?

Good running dude- especially with the 5k Saturday! I’m going for sub 40 at Chichester as well so maybe we can get a pace group going!
@LightitUpSB yea we should do that. Last time I did Chichester we had a really good 40 min pacer and a good group. Hopefully get that again
Adam used to live on one of the small Orkney islands. Funnily enough he won all the races he entered there 😂. He’s seriously fast!!
Well done 👍
Thank you 👍
A little cameo from Imo Boddy at 1:30?
Agreed, 10k is a stupid distance (100k is much easier 😂) well done! Adam Tango is an absolute machine 💥 and such a nice guy.
@@julietmorrice3205 That distance should be banned really. It’s not good for my health
Well done Stephen! I do love that area as it’s such a super flat course compared to other 10k races. What plans for 2025?

Well done Steve, the course looked really narrow !! Merry Christmas
@@irunoffroad some and some Roger. It was mostly just annoyingly undulating with loads of turns. Merry Christmas to you too!
@ Cheers, Chichester is a great course you’ll stand a better chance. Thanks for the entertainment and inspiration over the year

Great video as always but I would never think GPS on a watch is more accurate than a marked course. Especially around somewhere like the Olympic Park!
