Holy crap. I wish my 10k was that fast, I vlogged my 10k PB on my channel yesterday. 1 hour 5 minutes. 😢😂😂 it is watching videos like this that makes me push harder and aspire to achieve more at running. Thank you for the inspiration ❤
@ awh, thank you mate. I've come a long way recently, Wednesday was the 1st time I've run a non stop 10k in 20 years or so, I was super shocked to be able to do it again and get quicker on Friday. Tbh this week was my 3rd attempt at a 10k in years. I did a 10k in June this year, and June last year, both of which I had to have walking breaks throughout.
Good on you 👊 what a run! I found the bicarb to massively help… I seem to be able to get my HR up higher without it hurting as much! Definitely something to go into the raceday routine moving forward!
@@TheFODRunner thank you Andy 🙏 What distance did you use Bicarb for? I think I’ll be using it for big races from now on! I need to just get over the taste 🤣 Fascinated by it!
Bicarbonate is nonsense 😮 Where does it go? Into the stomach with a ph around 4, immediately knocking any alkaline benefits. Also, think about what’s it’s buffering, H ions, being well hydrated will have a similar effect
@ bicarb has been used in sports for years… especially bodybuilding.. people take it neat without the hydrogel… lots of scientific studies on it as well proving its effectiveness, lots of elite athletes / Olympians using it (as well as other stuff 😉), what makes you think it isn’t effective for runners?
I’m glad you reacted the way I did with the bi-carb. The taste is outrageous. But I think it does have benefits. I ran cross country with it and ran strong throughout and finished strong. 👌. Well done on a great race 💪🏻
@@thereids3625 it tastes so bad doesn’t it 🤣 yeah I do agree though, the outcome is defo worth the bad taste. I’ll be using it for sure in my big races! Thanks for the kind words, how’s the training going?
@Maxkelly600 my training has been very average for the last three weeks with calf pain. I have managed a good week last week and off to a good start this week. Hopefully, it has gone. Trying to go sub 2:50 at Manchester 😃
Bold move trying the new buffer on race day but it paid off 😁 Well done on the result and executing a top race and negative split. Something I've never got right but its all learning 😅 Phenomenal effort 💪👏
@@whereweoffDAD it was very bold 🤣 My A race is Barcelona Half so I needed to test it out before then, I wanted to do it in a practice race not a training session so this was the perfect chance! How is your training going?
@Maxkelly600 🤣... hope all goes well for Barcelona... my training has been dialled back for a few weeks before I start a half block in January. Needed a mental reset more than anything as burnt out after a top year of PBs for me..but looking forward to 2025 and working towards more goals. I'll keep a watch on your videos and take what I can into my stuff..ill try the buffer but maybe on a parkrun first 🤣...beetroot is my go too for races. A big chunk 30 mins before 🥴. All the best mate 😁
@@whereweoffDADthank you for this, I can’t wait for Barcelona! A mental reset is always healthy in this game, go back to easy running or rest. Beat root, interesting!! I’ve heard very good things with it! Let me know how your half marathon goes 👌🏻🫱🏻🫲🏼🏃
Well done Max! Absolutely smashed it. As you say, maybe boxed in at the start for under selling yourself, but I think it’s an unforgiving course if going off too fast at the start. What plans for 2025?
Thank you mate, really appreciate your kind words!! Defo boxed in but now I think of it, last year I wasn’t and ended up blowing up!! Plans for 2025… Half marathon in Feb, then try and hit up the 5k/3k races in spring, then to a half in autumn!! Thank you mate!

What is an amazing time my pb for 10k 32 .38 very long time ago in the Barnsley 10k and I think the wins is used to do in 29 minutes . It was the inter counties so you have the best runner from all over the country
@Maxkelly600 good I live in Thailand now61 now I do about 20 minutes to 5K in about 42 minutes for a 10K what is hot here what's was 50 hour running 35 minutes 10k but it gets harder . when you get old
