  • I ran a bottle of the Archoil fuel additive just to have a reason to play with my borescope but the results were actually surprising!

I watched a Jay Leno on Archoil and the numbers he was putting out there are almost dead on to what you were saying and yes I use Archoil and this for my fuel and I have a 05 Dodge 3500 5.9 cummins with 6 speed manual trans and a manual 4x4 selector and both my Dodge diesel had manual trans the first one was a 1992 regular cab long wheel base with 5 speed manual with locking hubs and a manual 4x4 selector. I am a car hauler since I was 23 yrs old and I dropped a load of cars at Windsor Canada and olnly loads I could find were Dodge trucks and it caught my eye and at this time they didn’t have intercooler and 4 speed manual and I kept my eye on them and when they up dated to a intercooler and the 5 speed diesel so I was checking the dealers and on they way back i would drop SUV’s and my last drop inNashvile Il and they had a red Dodge 2500 with intercooler and the 5 speed manual and the owner’s son was named Brad and he walked out to see what they were getting and I told him I sure would like to have that red Dodge and he said if I was serious after you get unloade to come in a see him and I bought that Dodge 3500 single cab long bed with front locking hubs and he got out the invoice and said that my shop and told them what I wanted to do and I aske them to let me haul my new truck back to the yard the company to get permissionsell to drivers a great price and that was 19300 bucks so I sigh the papers and I called

I would like to see someone have this product analyzed, maybe one of the oil sample testing companies to see what is in it. I appreciate you taking the time to produce your video.

I like the bottle design way better than the Hotshots EDT bottle. It's pretty annoying to have to have that adapter to get the additive past the inner fill neck flap.

I used the cleaner to clean it out and use the ar6500 diesel treatment in my 3.0. Found it likes a half dose and get 1 to 2 mpg more than i was. Forgot the guys name on TH-cam. But he is a lubricant engineer and he does alot of tests on his channel showing the importance fuel cleaners especially in diesels.

Don't put the Archoil in for a few tanks and see if the regens go back to being worse again, then I might be convinced that this is not snake oil .Do that a few times and then make a conclusion. So many things effect regens and mileage.
Are you buying fuel from the same place all the time, that is another variable.

Recommend treatment is one bottle every 5000 miles. Should be good for 6 or 7 tanks. I was using hotshots EDT each tank for a while but stopped a month or so ago. My milage has gone down slightly, but I'll chalk that up to increased AC usage now that we are in 95-degree weather. No change to regen frequency since I stopped using Hotshots. I did just order a bottle of the Archoil. I'm up for giving it a try.

And mileage aswell around .5-1.5mpg more, a quieter engine too. Never had my 3.0 sound quieter since day one

Had 803 miles on my 6.6. Now most of those miles were highway, and 11 were city with lights and stop signs. MPG was 22.8 using BP gas both ways going mid 70s with a couple times hitting the gas to pass some idiots.

I'm approaching 5000 miles (I've got two vehicles so I don't drive my truck every day) and I've been riding the 200 mile line for regens. Going to give this a shot and see if I get similiar results. I've also picked up the Launch code reader and I've been thinking about doing the fuel sample reset that you previously talked about.

Have you or anyone used the DEF additive? My 21 with 35,000 miles seems to have had a few DEF issues but I haven’t done any recalls on it. I don’t see why anyone would need DEF treatment but I’m curious about it.

Great video! I had a stuck warning about DPF range. They reprogrammed the truck or whatever...then my fuel economy started dropping to under 21MPG from an average of 25. Coupled with an infotainment system that just does random thing, locks out, needs frequent resets, TPMS that drops out randomly...I am ready to roll this truck off a cliff.

I wll have no issue using something when my 3.0 High County gets delivered next month. The stock diesel fuel needs something extra for this engine

I'm curious about this myself. I asked the dealer about the TSB when I was in for an oil change and was told that they typically won't do an ECM update unless you're throwing a code called out in the TSB. I'm not throwing any codes, so I decided not to push it.

That stuff is real it is to clean your fuel system and includes your injectors and this stuff is for real and it does a very good hood job at cleaning your injectors so the first time I used it with a very large dose and after that I did what they said for as the amount they recommended and believe me I am pretty sure I will get 300k miles on my factory injectors o r way more than that if I don’t get a bad of diesel fuel and I buy all my fuel at Quick Trip truck stop and they go threw diesel fuel like crazy and have never gotten water from them and it doesn’t hurt that I run 3 fuel filters. Coming from my Fleece lift pump that goes inside my tank and it has 2 gear motor lift pumps and the first pump runs off the factory and the second gear motor runs off Fleese wiring harness with a fuse and a relay so if one pump goes out you still a back up pump and at idle it puts out 21 psi and if one pump goes out I have the second pump that makes 11 psi and theses gear pumps are cooled by the fuel in tank. This pump is very easy to In stalled and Iam 69 yrs old and it took me a hour to do the in stall and I don’t have the filters and pump hanging down down where every body can see and in freezeing temps the air is blowing around the filters to make it easier to freeze up . My 05 5.9 I have 3 fuel filters a big Balwin water separator with drain but no sincer to tell you that water is pressing and it’s a 5 micron the next filter is a cat 2 micron and the filter on the block that’s a Baldwin 5 micron with a sencer for water that lites up on dash and a drain valve to drain off the water. So with these filters and Archoil that is a detergent to keep your injectors supper clean .

I think it has a high level of PEA that cleans the injectors and must clean the DPF some how because my start level on the idash for soot level for both incidences was single digits.
