As my wife and I were traveling across America (2023), she said this trip was everything she wanted to see on her Bucklist. She turned to me and said , what do you want see? I want to "Stand on a Corner in Winslow Arizona". So it was off to Arizona we went. Listening to the Eagles, and traveling across the desert was something I will never forget. I'm blessed to have grown up in a time with the best music ever recorded. The Eagles are timeless.

"We may lose, and we may win but we will never be here again. " aaaggghhhhh! x I so love this song
Yes, but Jackson BROWNE WROTE 9/10ths of this song.. Glenn lived above Jackson and heard him working on the song. Don Felder said Glenn would come in and change one word on a song written by two guys and get a third credit. They had a saying, “change a word, get a third”.
I'm 71 and still play the 60-70-80s music the most. Grateful I grew up in that time.
I’m 24 and play the same music

I went all the way to Winslow, Az and stood on a corner, all because of this song, and I'm from the UK.
I like that thought. Thank you, from another corner in some other place....
I visited Wislow Az., in the fall of 2023, so nostalgic.
I'll be there February 23rd 2024
So did I. But I'm East coast USA
Which corner?
The highest possible accolade you can give to a band. You NEVER skip this when it plays anywhere. They don't make bands like this anymore!
"they" would be Linda Ronstadt. She put these guys together and put them in the Capital Records building in front of executives.
@@jamesbarrick3403 Sorry dude Your lost on facts and the Eagles History
I agree wonderful band
They definitely don't make them like they used to (as the saying goes) 😢❤❤
I agree with that
The Eagles are timeless. Great music. Coming from a 30 year old lol
The Eagles are so talented. Many different vocals and many instruments, yet they get it perfectly in synch.
Very true
Unfortunately, they don't sound as good as they did with Randy Meisner (may he rest in peace) and Bernie Leadon/Don Felder.

Glenn Frey you may be gone. But your role as a founding member of the Eagles, your music and influence remain. drive the music industry. Be an inspiration to the new generation. And it will be like this for a long time. Thank you for everything, We will always miss you.
I enjoyed his acting too! I started to tear up when I saw his pic come up.
Here, here, bro,!!

It will be like that forever the music will never die people will be listening to this 100 years from now.
"ABSOLUTELY!!!"
I'm not sure of the year, probably around 1980, but I stopped by mother's house to say hello. She had the TV on the local PBS station and was watching an Eagles concert. After shussing me during Desperado, she finally turned to me during the break and said "Who is this band? They are wonderful". All I could do was smile and say "yeh mom, they are pretty good".
Always listen to Mother. She was spot on! That alone should bring a smile on your face!
Mother always knows best, but the eagles were easier to get on with. 😂😂
Thank you for sharing one of your family memories with us...this is so sweet and so vivid... I felt like I was there...for a moment😘
Fabulous.

You can always tell how talented a band is when they sound incredible live.
Or acoustic
I can hear Eagles song's 5000 times a day and not get tired of it. Happy new year.
Yep. Only, if they sound too good they might be lip synching
I always thought that the way they make it look totally effortless is a sign of talent.

I prefer the beach boys, but these guys are my close second.
@@Noah1997callahan Only one left of that group, and that's the problem, most of these are leaving us one by one not being replaced by any real talent at all. Just look at the tv ads today, almost all of them use music from the 70-90's, why's that, because it's when they made real music, not like the cr*p they make today.

Felder and Walsh, Fry, Henley, Timothy B Schmidt. Uncommon talent at the same place and time - the universes gift to mankind.
My dream never came true..to see Jackson Browne as a member of the Eagles & team up with all the aforementioned guys
I personally prefer Bernie to Joe and Randy to Tim..
But the original 4 with Don Felder was the best, for me..
But what a group... 🎉
I prefer Randy to Timothy. He reigned supreme, when it came to the high notes, and had a purer chest voice. Schmidt's voice was more airy.
Good for of us in our 70s still listening to the best music we all remember and love God Bless everyone!

Such a great track, co-written by Jackson Browne. Love The Eagles. May Glen Frey rest in peace. Cheers! ✌️
Co-written by Glenn Frey. It is basically a Jackson Browne song
@@dj_617 qqqqqqqqqqqqqq we
Jackson Brown was stuck on the second verse of this song. His upstairs neighbor Glenn Frey improvised, "It's a girl oh Lord in a flatbed Ford slowing down to take a look at me". Brown liked it and for that line only gave Frey co-writing credit. What a line. Frey probably made a million dollars per word for his portion of the writing credit for that song which launched the Eagles.
@@gwestfall Well, it was Jackson that was standing on the corner in Winslow, not Glen. And the girl was from Flagstaff, IIRC. Both events happened to JB.
Now we lost Meisner too just about a week ago, on July 26'th 2023. He made it to 77 years of age
Just played this song with my band Saturday night. And as always, it packs the dance floor. Timeless classic from the great American band!!

I'm putting In the City in the 1-1a slot because it gets overlooked and Joe Walsh deserves so much credit for his brilliance as lead.

We are Sooooo excited!! 🎉❤
Just cannot stop watching this video. The sheer joy this song, has brought to countless millions of people over the years, including myself, must surely make it one of the best loved songs, of ALL time. To see Joe Walsh dancing at the end of his solo, is pure joy and the harmonies from Timothy B Schmit are flawless, as always. Fantastic. Thank you Eagles.
RIP Glenn you rocked this song
Glen's smooth voice ~ beautiful!!!
The song that launched a band. RIP, Glen. Simply the best California rock band. Ever.
I drove 450 miles to see them at the Kia Forum the other night. It was BY FAR the best concert I've ever been to and I've seen the Dead, Zep, Buffet, a whole lot of them. This was 1 1/2 hour of Steely Dan as a warmup act (!!) and then 2 hours of the Eagles. It was amazing - they were better than their recordings if you can believe that. Half the band members are gone now, and Glenn Frey's son fills in for him. This kid is actually talented, he can sing and play just like the rest of them. And he sounds like Glenn!
It was fantastic. Get tickets while you can, you won't regret it.
I agree! My first Eagles concert was in 1976 in MA and my last was in Boston in 2023. 47 years of Eagles concerts and the songs never get old. My day is not complete without listening to at least one Eagles song. Go see them before it really is Good Bye. Remembering Glenn today, 1/18/24.
Listen to the best songs from
The Mavericks and then go to a quaint venue and listen to this amazing jam band that winds up as the show builds and then pulls out all the stops to crescendo a brilliant finish.
You'll want to track me down and thank me if you are smart enough to take my advice.
World class fun and great music.
Btw the Eagles are amazing with their harmonies right holy cow!!
This is such a classic song. Jackson Browne is a fantastic songwriter, and his partnership with Glenn Frey on this song is awesome. The Eagles are one of those really timeless acts that never get old and they are still amazingly consistent, even without Glenn. If you ever pass through Winslow, Arizona, please stop and stand on the corner. Winslow is a small town with a lot of charm and they have an extraordinary amount of Eagles merch and memorabilia!
Been there, done that. Back in 1993 I was on an amazing road trip through the SW US and took a very minor detour just to go see Winslow Arizona with that song blasting on my cassette player in my 1992 Nissan 240SX...It was a moment. 😁

Absolutely! I was on a Greyhound bus stopped on a corner in Winslow back in 1980 and all I could think about was this song! Also check out one of my other favorites “Melissa “ feat. Jackson Browne and Gregg Allman!
Probably my second favorite recording for this song. My first is the 1977 live performance when the real magic was still going strong with Randy!
Randy is my favorite eagle
With randy is when eagles were at their absolute best
The best rock and roll band of all time in my opinion. I grew up as a teen listening to the Eagles and have listened to them for over fifty years. Got most of their music on vinyl albums, CD’s or downloaded. I’ll miss them when they are gone.
