I am now 74+ years old, and am still enjoying this sublime musical song in Bangladesh, reliving my memories of having discovered the Eagles way back in 1977 while I was there in England as a student! Fond memories of the ambience of this eternal masterpiece.

Great description, that's the bit that absolutely gets me and makes me come back to this video over and over again. They have such joy in their utter mastery of their instruments, and they just know (in a non-arrogant way) just how good they are.
Also very clever use of the two guitars to form counter-melodies during the vocal sections. Kudos to all for the playing, and on earphones the bass part is very clever, almost reggae-like and really contributes to the overall feel.

Sina probably won't ever cover Hotel California. Don Henley excellent drum and vocals. Only Deep Purple, Child in Time comes close. One in a billion masterpiece that can't be topped. The Eagles couldn't top it.
Back in the day, I was trying to get the best sound possible by buying speakers; I always testing them with Hotel CA. Like you said GOAT for guitar solo. Hotel CA let's you hear speakers at all ranges.

I was born way later than this song came out, I came out in '82 (Respect, mom!). I have learned a lot of my English through songs and reading lyrics. Eagles were some of the best songs that I recall. What an ICONIC performance from start to finish. They even nailed the solo to perfection. I have been wondering how I had not discovered this yet, and then I realized it was uploaded just a mere 6 months ago. Don Henley - as great of an iconic singer he is - has an infamous reputation for being the number one blocker of all time when it comes to the Eagles' music. That includes cover artists and tutorials as well.
Every now & then a band will come up with a decade defining song.. The Eagles smashed it out the park with this...absolute timeless masterpiece..if you don't love this, the problem lies with you...👏👏👏
There is a great documentary of Eagles, and in it Glenn Frye explained that he was the original lead singer, but Don Henley had the best voice in the band. So Don sang.
Not only a masterpiece but also a lesson in skill, talent, and musicianship. I am blown away by how on time they are, in perfect sync, all 5 of them. I swear I think most modern musicians would need a hundred takes to get it it this right. And yet, here they are, taking us on one smooth, perfect journey. Flawless.

There is a reason anytime a poll is taken of the greatest rock songs of all time, this masterpiece composition is at least in the top 3 if not #1 itself. Like a fine wine, it only gets better with age. And in my humble opinion, this version, when the Eagles were at their pinnacle, is the best version ever recorded.

5:15 is plausibly the best 10 seconds of music ever. Joe dragging the pick down the neck while Felder strummed, the tension before Henley smashes the cymbal, then Joe jamming. Wow.

And of-course the legendary pull down of Joe Walsh in lead - probably the world never has seen such a soul stirring bend down from a single fret!!!

This song was released before I was born, I listened to it through my childhood and part of reason I started learning to play the guitar. Now as a grown man, I still find the quality of this song is top notch.

I was born way later than this song came out, I came out in '82 (Respect, mom!). I have learned a lot of my English through songs and reading lyrics. Eagles were some of the best songs that I recall. The son of the host family we stayed with was very keen on them and we kinda got hooked into that music along the way too. Но и роднoй русский не забываем - читаем, помним и пишем. What an ICONIC performance from start to finish. They even nailed the solo to perfection. I have been wondering how I had not discovered this yet, and then I realized it was uploaded just a mere 6 months ago.
One has to wonder, how many good live performances and music is out there and hasn't been uploaded yet? This is definitely one of my favorite live performances EVER. I discovered it some weeks ago and now I make sure to watch it every few days.

This is probably the latest posting of this song, but I have seen it many times on TH-cam over the last decade at least. Don Henley - as great of an iconic singer he is - has an infamous reputation for being the number one blocker of all time when it comes to the Eagles' music. There is a great documentary of Eagles, and in it Glenn Frye explained that he was the original lead singer, but Don Henley had the best voice in the band. So Don sang.

There is a reason anytime a poll is taken of the greatest rock songs of all time, this masterpiece composition is at least in the top 3 if not #1 itself. Like a fine wine, it only gets better with age. And in my humble opinion, this version, when the Eagles were at their pinnacle, is the best version ever recorded.
