It is incredibly difficult for even Indians to fully comprehend the divinity and energy of this sacred place, as it is one of the abodes of Lord Shiva. As Hindus, we believe in reincarnation, so death is not the end but the start of a new life and a new journey. I must say, this video is beautifully crafted, and I truly appreciate how you approached it with an open mind. Instead of interpreting the experience through a Western lens, you allowed yourself to let go and fully immerse in the energy. Wishing you all the best-you truly deserve a million subscribers.

This is not City of Death; this is City of Moksha. The philosophical and cultural difference in Indian and Western civilisations suffers a huge gap, so translating everything in English turns out to be something weirdly different. Moksha is freedom from the cycle of death and rebirth.

We are sanatani , we pay our respect towards the Sun, the moon , the Rivers, trees ,plants, animals, water, earth, air, stone, mountains, even other planets.
Without them we wouldn't be here alive. We believe the universe is made up of cosmic energy, that energy resides within everything, that energy is your soul, that can neither be created nor destroyed, its ultimate goal is to reunite with the cosmic energy the God, the creator preserver and the destroyer. We all in this universe share the same energy. No one is different. Nothing is permanent, anything which is created will eventually be destroyed, always remember life isn't the truth, the ultimate truth of life is death.
As an ancient culture we believe in this philosophy of life. That's why we respect every soul, that's why we believe God resides in every particle in the form of energy that energy can be experienced and accessed by the vibrations , Hance the rituals you have witnessed in varanasi. I don't know about physical or practical but mentally or spiritually it's a beautiful place to visit.

Wonderful video! 🇨🇮 Varanasi is my most beloved place in this world. I can't explain why with words. Whenever I travel to India and go to Varanasi, I feel like coming back home. Even as chaotic and intense as it is, Varanasi has something that is beyond any place. Someday, if you go back to Varanasi, try to visit some temples alongside the river like Kashi Vishwanath, Kedareshwar, and also go and join the Ganga Aarti with the people. You will feel something undescribable.

I can't speak for others, but I know personally I do my best to not think about mortality as much as possible, and as a result in a situation like this it's "shocking". City of death?? Lol.
Death is MOKSHA for us, the ultimate destination of soul.
    Real hindus don't fear death.
Death is considered the ultimate reality of life.. in our ideology.
No matter who you are, how much rich or poor you are... Nobody can escape death.
This is the LAND OF LORD SHIVA...the most powerful.
That's why most hindus consider dying here to be a blessing. Or at least our last rites to be done here.

In Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism), there are four ashrams, or stages of life, which are:
    1. Brahmacharya (Student Life): This is the first stage, typically lasting until around age 25, where an individual focuses on education, learning, and spiritual growth.
    2. Grihastha (Householder Life): The second stage, usually lasting from age 25 to 50, where one gets married, raises a family, and engages in worldly responsibilities.
    3. Vanaprastha (Retired Life): The third stage, typically starting around age 50, where an individual gradually withdraws from worldly responsibilities, focuses on spiritual pursuits, and prepares for the final stage.
    4. Sannyasa (Renunciate Life): The fourth and final stage, usually starting around age 75, where one renounces worldly attachments, dedicates themselves to spiritual practices, and seeks liberation (Moksha).
These ashrams provide a framework for an individual's spiritual and personal growth throughout their life.

@get....you said it right! For us Indians, Varanasi is the city of death!! It celebrates death! We believe that death is good as it is liberating (moksha)! We celebrate death just as much as we celebrate birth! There is death all around in this city! Tourists should keep this in mind and visit this city. This city is not for the faint hearted especially Manikarnika ghat. This city is not a Las Vegas or a Switzerland. Varanasi is the oldest surviving city on this planet. This city is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva. Just like you Mark Twain had visited Varanasi and after visiting it his views on humanity had totally changed. It impacted his life.

I love this perspective!! Many people in the comments are saying it "isn't the city of death, it's the city of Moksha". And I'm with you, I'm like... it can be both! And that's not a bad thing! It was absolutely life-changing to visit, I'm excited to read more about Mark Twain's journey to Varanasi as well. Thank you for watching! ❤

@@Get.Lost.Travel I agree with you. Moksha is only for the soul and not the material body. Thus one has to die to liberate the soul from the body. Thus, I too feel that it can be both. Mark Twain wrote following on Varanasi: "“Benaras (Varanasi) is older than history, older than tradition, older even than legend and looks twice as old as all of them put together”.

Appreciate your honest curiosity and seeking to experience and understand - what you unknowingly went into.
While there are tourist experiences in India elsewhere - that are aesthetically more beautiful and clean, like Switzerland etc, this place is definitely unique to India; found no where else in the world.
Some watching, may see this and find it dirty, poor, and think why pay to see this……without comprehending correctly and therefore miss what a life altering visit it can be. ( It’s much like your understanding it as a city of death, versus Indians saying it’s moksha). I figure depending on your understanding and viewpoint- both can be true.
Since many foreign visitors do intentionally sensationalize the dirt and poverty of India, and ingeniously show the different ways of India ( not easily found attractive in the west) to others. ……Indians often wish visitors would show the nicer places.
However, my opinion was that you showed this very respectfully, beautifully, and with honest curiosity and a decent type of fascination to experience and learn from it. Thanks for sharing.

Man in sanatan dharma, death is not something to be feared. Like how we change clothes everyday our soul changes body after death. So, death is just for your current mortal body but, your soul is eternal. It will be either sentenced to punishment in hell or be rewarded heavens but, that to is temporary. The stay of your soul in heaven or hell works like credit system, your karma is your credits. It can be negative or positive and will end up being zero by repenting or enjoying afterlife respectively. The soul is then again ready for new life or reincarnation. But reincarnation is not true salvation (moksh), when you achieve nirvana you attain salvation and set free from this material world and can now see the real world. This material world is just a Maya, or illusion. This is where inspiration of matrix series comes as well.
My idea of attaining nirvana is to become higher diminesion being than this 3rd dimension being and attaining nirvana is not just a one time thing, you keep attaining enlightenment to reach higher dimension and one day reach and become part of a cosmos which, according to Vedas is highest level of satisfaction a person can attain. It is where a person sheds all the weaknesses and becomes full. A place where there is no life or death as soul is eternal and it is never born hence, nor it is killed as only the things that are born can die. It is a place where you don't feel hunger and lust, or get sick, or suffer pain as it is the characteristics of the material body which we have already shed. It is a place of heartfelt happiness and joy.
Thanks for reading it and have a nice day ☺️

In the search of true knowledge about yourself and humanity always experience with calmness like engulfing all the essence flowing in those space never overthink. Calm your mind and just observe like a child. The question arises within you will get answers in yourself, just exclude yourself from those. All happening within you but not influence by you just pure experience. Kashi or to say modern name Varanasi is the oldest living City on this earth. People came Varanasi not for liberation just to make death less painful because death is most painful thing to experience by beings, it says when soul leaves the human body feels like 40 scorpions sting at once. People come Varanasi to make it easier death to themselves or to their loved ones. This pain with recall of your whole life memory doesn't go all away but it's duration gets very shorten to feel in varanasi but this have to suffer by everyone except saint, sages and hardcore yoga & yogic practitoner ❤. But ALSO older people and terminally ill people make the trip there as well with the intention to die there. But no, no one is alive during the cremation 😅
