Jackie I'm no nurse or medical person but I do have chronic health issues like you & I just wanted to tell you that I did exactly like you several times, not knowing what I was doing, very confused & didn't remember it. We didn't know for a good while what was was going on. I went to a class reunion a few years ago, out of state, and alone because my husband had to stay home with a foster child we had at the time who was still in school. I thought I was doing better & it was going to be okay to go. I drove about five hours to Mississippi from Alabama, checked into my hotel room, went to the reunion that night but didn't feel good at all. In a lot of pain. Left early went to my hotel room around 10:00, spoke to the front desk clerk briefly, she asked had I had a good time at my reunion & I said yes but I wasn't feeling too good so I was going up to my room, second floor overlooking the front desk area, took my normal night meds & went to sleep. That's the last thing remember from that night but the desk clerk said I came out of my room, looked very disoriented, was talking strange & told her someone was in my room under my bed trying to kill me. Then collapsed on the balcony. She dialed 911 & attempted to give me cpr. When the ambulance arrived I was clinically dead, no heart beat, not breathing & nobody knew anything about me, who to call. They assumed I could be drunk since I went to a class reunion. No alcohol in my blood, no drugs other than what was on my night stand. The paramedic finally got a faint heartbeat & very shallow breathing. They took me to a big hospital there, put me in ICU, put me on machines to keep me alive. Did multiple test, no answers. Finally at 3:00 a.m. I woke up in ICU with no clue where I was or why. By 6:00 a.m. they released me because I seemed fine. Had to get a shuttle back to my hospital, in a borrowed hospital thing because they cut my gown off me when they were trying to revive me. I was so embarrassed to go into that hotel in that scrub top, no bottoms. I packed & drove myself home. I didn't call my husband because there was no use by then. I told you this story because those incidences happened again off & on. Once at home, several times in the hospital. Still no answer. When I finally was put into my local nursing home/rehab center because I had to leave the hospital after 8 weeks. I wasn't strong enough to take care of myself yet so I couldn't go home. I was on TPN feeding for six months because of malnutrition. I had a port in my chest for that & antibiotics. Well finally a nurse there checked my ammonia level & mine was double what it should be. Your ammonia level being that high will drive you crazy, literally. I had become paranoid at times, thought my loving husband was trying to kill me, all from something so simple as a very high ammonia level. The answer to what happened to me in the hotel not knowing anything or anybody. I told this story not only for you, take it or leave it, but others who follow your channel that deal with chronic illnesses. I wish someone had thought of testing my ammonia level months before they did. I came home from the nursing home within 12 days after we knew what was causing my mental issues. This story is much, much longer but I felt like I needed to get this out there for others who follow your channel. Especially if your older like me, it's a problem seniors face who haven't got all the medical issues I do. I deal with Gastroparesis, Pancreas not working, malnutrition, Fibromyalgia, Neuropathy in my feet & legs plus a few more issues but today I'm doing very well, can eat now, no port but I have to have constant medical attention & you deal with people who just look at you, think you don't look sick so I must be a hypochondriac. Anybody else deal with that? I pray for you Jackie, you're so young & I'm 70 years old so it's to be expected right?? I had all these problems years though, I'm just a survivor. The days I use my handicap parking, I don't always but when I do I feel like I need a sign on my back listing all my illnesses & what I deal with daily. All handicaps aren't visible. Well, that being said, I feel like I got a load off my shoulders, lol.
You are an amazing woman with great inner strength. I’m not a chronic pain warrior, but am inspired by you and your lovely family and friends. Sending healing thoughts and prayers.
Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is a potent anticholinergic as well as being a 1st gen antihistamine. Specifically it antagonises muscarinic ACh receptors, and that leads to delirium and reduced consciousness (same mechanism as deadly nightshade poisoning). Combining drugs that are anticholinergics makes this even more likely, so you've likely nothing to worry about now they've lowered dosages! Also, I hope your flare-up clears soon and that you feel better ❤️
Sorry to see you are inpatient again, but glad you are starting to feel more like yourself. Thanks for always doing your best to help educate & advocate for chronic illness warriors. Currently with my kiddo for some inpatient testing for the next few days - your videos help lift my spirits when we are stuck in the hospital.
Thanks. Hope you get to go home soon. Glad that you got to have your friends visit you in the hospital. Hope you know how many people are cheering you on! 😀
You made perfect sense. That must have been a scary episode; the flare and the confusion. My heart goes out to you. I'll be thinking of you, and hoping that the next video will see you in a better condition.
Jacquie, thank you so much for sharing your journey. I have been a subscriber for a while, but this fall I got really sick, and got diagnosed with MCAS. I am really lucky to live near the Cleveland Clinic and was able to find a good doctor that recognized my seemingly random symptoms, and although I still have no idea what many of my triggers are, I am taking a variety of Antihistamines which have seemingly helped a bit. Even though our reactions are different, and you deal with much more than me, seeing the way you deal with your good and bad days is really inspiring. It makes me feel a little less alone. It is so hard when most of the time my illness is completely invisible to everyone else. If I didn't collapse because of syncope and cardiac symptoms, I would never have been taken seriously. Thank you for all that you do.
Don't worry about the walk-through or the new house. Judd can take charge and your family and friends will step up. You can always participate virtually through Skype or phone call if you are not feeling well. Hoping for healing and that you are home soon once your pain and symptoms are controlled. High dosages of benadryl can definitely make people loopy.
I can empathize. I really hope you get to feeling better. My MCAS has gone utter bonkers. We seemingly had it under control the past year, but this year it's gone so out of control. I'm having reaction after reaction, and it's crazy. I just discovered I am really hypermobile too, and I've had bloodwork done in relation to EDS and Dysautonomia. I wish you much luck Jaquie! Thanks for sharing and helping me feel less alone.
Jacque...happened to me w extremely high doses of steroids. I managed to get up and went outside of the hospital. Once out realized at some point I was insane....managed to get back indoors. Once found out was scolded but honestly, literally had a break w reality for an hour or two......scary.
@@ChronicallyJaquie Too much and you can go crazy...hallucinations, etc. I take daily, and my dose in the hospital is usually elevated. This could be issue if you were given a larger than "usual" dose.......
I’m very worried about you moving to your new house. That is going to be a huge stressor; even though you are super excited about it. It happened to me when we bought our first house. I became very ill. Just go slow and be kind to yourself.
Omg when the IV pump went off I thought it was something in my room!!! So sorry that you’re back in the hospital. Hopefully things go well and you can go home to your pup soon.
Everything will work out in the end! You're where you need to be and that's okay! Take care of yourself and your body so you can do your walk-thru when the time comes! We hope you keep making progress and start feeling better soon! You got this, girl! *You got this!*
So glad you are feeling better!! You definitely were dealing with symptoms of drug overdose! THAT is scary that you got to that point! This type of overdose is so common when combining narcotics w/IV Benadryl. Thankfully they dealt with it quickly!! I hope you are back home resting by today!! Xoxo
So sorry you are in the hospital. Prayers that you get everything under control soon. As for the walk thru and closing of the house, I think they will understand the situation. Take care and please get some rest.
Oh no. That is honestly not good that you had such a bad allergic reaction that you forgot who you were. I guess things could always be worse is the biggest aspect to take. Just keep working towards finding a balance, and take live by stride day by day. I hope that you are alright. Take care of yourself and if you need a break, everyone understands it.
It was not the reaction itself, but rather the treatment. They started me on way too high of a dose for CDI, typically I start low and they steadily increase. My system was just overwhelmed for a bit and Benadryl can definitely do that to you!
When you and your mum explained what happened I thought it could be delirium. I'm a nurse and I see a lot of patients go throught it during in stays, especially after procedures or when in hight pain. It's not well known because people think it's a thing that happen to elder or elderly people but even teens or adult could have delirium while in hospital. I'm happy that changing medication helped, I know how scary it could be, for you and for everyone around you! Hope you feel well soon and that all your plan for next week will be possible! Stay strong!
Hakumei Chan - it’s much more likely due to Benadryl.....and whatever other medications she is taking (pain and anti nausea meds)....delirium doesn’t usually happen after such little time in hospital and it is much more common in sicker patients stuck in rooms with no windows, or sleeping all day so they get their circadian rhythms messed up....it’s called “ICU Delirium”....
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HARLOW❣️ We have a female German Shepherd, not a service dog. She’s so true to the “Shepherd” in her. She shepherds the cat, and us, HER humans LOL. The 💜love our GSD gives us is healing and unconditional just as it is with HARLOW 🐕❣️
The move to your first house is a huge event for anyone, let alone for a chronic illness warrior. Don't sweat the walk through punch list, it won't be anything major. All the house systems have warranties. It'll mostly be minor paint and drywall scuffs. Maybe some tile and countertop scratches. But it's so exciting and a big achievement for a young couple, so congrats in advance!
Aww dearheart! I literally exclaimed out loud in reaction to seeing you in the hospital again. I talk about you so much that my dad understood why I was upset. I’m so sorry to hear that you’re in the hospital after doing so well. Honestly though, why I saw you going to downhill a week before your Xolair shot was due, I had a thought that this would happen. In about 2 hours, I’ll be joining you in confused-ville when I go to my ketamine treatment (which is working!). But I completely understand being so sick that everything is a blurry confusion. It can be scary as hell or completely calm about it. I’m so glad that they figured it out and you’re feeling at least a little better. I’ll send good thoughts out into the universe for you to recover quickly & escape the hospital. However, worrying about everything you are suppose to do can cause stress & effect your health. If you can, just rest, relax, & recover & let your body & meds work in their own time to put you back on your feet even stronger. If it’s tomorrow, great! If it’s next week, that’s fine too because Judd & your family will make it work & keep you in the loop. Even if you do the walk through on FaceTime or Skype. As long as you’re healthy. 💜
Chronically Jaquie No thanks needed hun. We’re all going through this together! The ketamine treatments are actually helping a lot! I’ve finished my first 6 boosters really, and it’s allowed me to walk again (shakily) without assistance for the first time in 4yrs! That’s a bloody miracle if you ask me! However, we’ll see when I need a new infusion & if we can afford it. No insurance has drain my parent’s coffer over the years. I’ve watched all the vids after this one. I’m so hoping that there’s not a new vid because you’re recovering from a successful surgery & even possibly (hopefully) out of the prison! I can’t wait to see you, Judd, & Harlow in your new, first, house! I’m so happy for you! Thank you for replying, too. It truly made my day. ☺️ I hope you have a wonderful Easter - OUT of the hospital. I hope the weather on the Gulf Coast is just as nice as the weather we’re going to have here, on the East Coast! 🐣 🐰 🥚 🐥
Being chronically ill is so hard anyway then throw in a hospital stay and its awefull. So sad to see you feeling poorly. Looking forward to you feeling better tomorrow.
Brave heart Jaquie!!! I'm so sorry this is happening, but I know that you are so strong, and we'll see you on the other side of it. Sending you all the best vibes and strength
Hoping for a speedy recovery. I've had one of those don't know anything. It was scary. Due to over medicated. Hi Harlow and Jed too. Just keep concentrating on that new house.
When I had the last reaction to a food I got so confused.... like couldn't remember the date, etc. ... I could think of the answer but couldn't vocalize it
I just got out of the hospital after 3 days too. I was sent into a psychosis. They told me it was called serotonin syndrome and it was very scary. It was caused by my medicine reacting to a new medication I started for my POTS. I'm now off of all meds and doing better. I really hope you get better soon. I know what your going through. Hugs to you, Harlow and Jud.❤
Jaquie’s hospital hair is still nicer than my normal hair 💁🏾♀️ Also two questions I’m curious about: 1. It was IV benedryl there was a shortage last time wasn’t there? Is that still a thing ? 2. Are they still not using your fistula ?
Lol thanks girl! It was pretty dirty though haha. The shortage has no longer effected me and others I know, but I think there are still some problems nationwide. We have been using my fistula but since I need so many meds in the hospital, I want to use my port. I'm not comfortable going into detail about my fistula because I still become very stressed when I need to use it. It does not hurt, it works GREAT, I love not needing my port all the time. But for whatever reason, I don't feel ready to share about it yet.
Hi Jaquie. I hope you start feeling better soon? I know how hard it can be in the hospital. Hopefully they can figure out what's happening and get it under control. I know how much it must mean to you to get into your new home and I know that must be a lot on your heart and mind. I am praying for you. I wanted to let you know that I joined your Patron and I bought your purple Diversity is Beauty T-Shirt. I hope it comes soon? God Bless you.
You are in my prayers !! I had surgery on 4/11 and was in the hospital until late 4/12 and I was so antsy to get home .. I can only imagine how you must be feeling, big remember as frustrating as it is you are in a safe place .. love and prayers..
Sorry to hear that you are back in hospital. Will be praying that you will feel well enough to return home some .Stay strong and as you say moving forward xx
Aw Jaquie, I'm so sorry this happened. There is never a time that popsicles taste as good as when you are in the hospital/sick. I wonder why that is, lol!? However, watching Judd bite/chew it made my teeth ache. I literally had to cover him up with my hand on the laptop screen. I have majorly sensitive teeth and my biggest pet peeve in the entire world as a result is when people chew ice or popsicles. As I said, it makes my teeth hurt just seeing or hearing it, haha. Positive vibes, prayers and all my best wishes that you recover quickly and can get home soon. xoxox Heather🇨🇦
Glad to see you are ok and getting better. No worries about feeling loopy. All those meds are just messing with you a bid. The side effects are a lot to take on. You will make it back home in time to go see your new home for sure.
Gentle hugs missy xoxo it’s horrible when you get so confused... I didn’t no what a train was a few iMessage due to my rheumatoid arthritis brain fog plus meds making me incoherent:( I hope you feel relief soon! From a spoonie follower in oz
I''m so sorry you are back in the hospital. but it's where you need to be right now. Try to let go of your frustrations. It will only slow down your recovery. Let go and let God. All things are possible through Him. That was one of my mom's favorite things to tell me. And I truly believe it. You will get through this and do the walk through and then get moved into your beautiful new home. These are exciting times for you and Judd and Hippo. I wanted to say hello to your mom. I will keep you in my prayers as always. Sending much love your way!
Hey, hang tough and get better, you’re true warrior. I wouldn’t worry about all the house thing right now, it will still be there when you get back on your feet. BTW I’m old and I forget where I’m at all the time haha. Just get better
One time after a seizure I was super out of it and asked if I was on the Republican or Democrat side of the bed. It’s so weird when your brain just glitches.
I love watching your vid even though I dont have chronic illneses. But I have scoliosis(curve in the spine) it is hard to live with it, but i got use to it☺😀! Hope you get better!🐶☺
So sorry it was a bad flair😞 Oh yeah too much benedryl has done me in, same day as a major anaphylaxis 🤦♀️ I’m so glad you are doing well. Don’t worry you were just fine in the vlog❤️ Try not to stress too much (😀 i know, not easy) Adulting needs to take a backseat.
To go forward you will go backwards. But you’ll come out with more information on ways to help your health. Take care of your body and if the hospital is where you need to be it’s where you need to be. If you need a break from the camera take it and don’t worry. We will be here when you get back. You’ve been doing a lot which for chronic illnesses will wear your body out. Your body is telling you to rest.
I've had a similar experience with cdi but I was very panicked because of the confusion and I dont remember it at all I only remember the feeling everyone has told me I was being crazy
Well Jaquie dazed and confused! Happens to me when overuse pain meds I lose track of time, have often lost a day or days so its not uncommon for ud meds users. Sending best wishes and prayer gor your speedy recovery From Minnesota.
I’ve started weekly IVs with Benadryl and it’s sooo weird. I get in the car and eat some food and then fall asleep until around 11 pm, waking up with a patchy memory of the day 😂
Oh yeah Benadryl is a deliriant drug if you take too much, plus if they gave you a benzo for the EpiPen that could've made the Benadryl even stronger!!! I'm glad you're okay and hopefully they find what you need soon :)
I miss you so much Baby I hope your flying high in Heaven. And living in eternal peace

If it’s next week, that’s fine too because Judd & your family will make it work & keep you in the loop. Even if you do the walk through on FaceTime or Skype. As long as you’re healthy.
💜
Good luck with the Ketamine! And thanks for your support, you are very kind!
I am so sorry. I hope you feel better and that you can go home soon. I love you guys and i know that you will stay strong, you are so amazing!
Jaquie’s hospital hair is still nicer than my normal hair 💁🏾♀️
Also two questions I’m curious about:
Hope you feel better soon!! And your hair looks really pretty!🐣🐰
So sorry you are feeling bad and in the hospital. Sending prayers and healing hugs your way.
Oh that is scary! Sending hugs and healing vibes!
My prayers for you, Judd and Harlow. I spent last week in hospital. Unfortunately with chronic illnesses comes up and downs.
Prayers for you as well!
Yay! I bought that shirt too, love the design. Thank you for being supportive! I do not handle shipping/production.... All that is with TeeSpring. :)
I pray you get better very soon. I know you want to do the walk through for your new home. Sending love and prayers! ❤️🙏🏻❤️🙏🏻❤️
You are in my prayers !! I had surgery on 4/11 and was in the hospital until late 4/12 and I was so antsy to get home .. I can only imagine how you must be feeling, big remember as frustrating as it is you are in a safe place .. love and prayers..
Hope you feel better. ❤
Sending love and prayers to you for a quick recovery. You have a lot of good things ahead with the new home to look forward to👍🏻😁❤️
Sorry to hear that you are back in hospital.
Positive vibes, prayers and all my best wishes that you recover quickly and can get home soon. xoxox Heather🇨🇦
oh no Jaquie! I'm so sorry! sending prayers!
Hope you're feeling better soon. I'm at an oncology appointment getting treatment today and feel your pain.
Many prayers for you, and hoping that you are feeling much better each day. Please take care... thoughts and prayers for you! 💗🙏😊
So sorry about you being in the hospital
Glad to see you are ok and getting better. No worries about feeling loopy. All those meds are just messing with you a bid. The side effects are a lot to take on. You will make it back home in time to go see your new home for sure.
Sending prayers ❤️
You are so right. Not where I want to be, but where I need to be.
Hope you feel better soon..
Get well soon and give Harlow some cuddles from me. Hospitals are NO fun!
oh no, Jaquie!! i'm always praying for you
Chronically Jaquie, it is so good to see your Mom!!!!!!
Popsicles and puppies can make EVERYTHING better
Hope you feel better
Just keep being strong and God will also help you 💗💗💗
Sending healing vibrations to you and your family.
In our prayers, hope you are feeling better soon.
Hey, hang tough and get better, you’re true warrior. I wouldn’t worry about all the house thing right now, it will still be there when you get back on your feet. BTW I’m old and I forget where I’m at all the time haha. Just get better
Hope you’re feeling better and can get out soon!
Awe :( I'm so sorry you ended up in the hospital. I love you Jaq!
Hang in there Jaquie. You will make it!
Oh Jaquie. I’m so sorry this has happened to you! Be well darling xxxxxxxxxxxx
One time after a seizure I was super out of it and asked if I was on the Republican or Democrat side of the bed. It’s so weird when your brain just glitches.
Haha I followed your train of thought until you said "side of the bed," lol! Gotta laugh at our selves time to time. 😂
It’s probably something I’m gonna think about and laugh at forever 😂
I love watching your vid even though I dont have chronic illneses. But I have scoliosis(curve in the spine) it is hard to live with it, but i got use to it☺😀! Hope you get better!🐶☺
Ziggy Z I had surgery and I am going to have one in about a year.☺
Another surgery.😕
I pray all of this will be behind you soon
Hope you feel better soon girly!☹️😍❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hoping you feel better soon!
Hope you feel better and break out of there soon.
Prayers for you Jaquie! Xoxo
Sending prayers y’all’s way.
Sending you prayers and hope you improve your health so you can see your new home
I hope you get to feeling better soon much love and support from Sanford North Carolina.
Hope you feel better soon and get back home. Hospital is never a fun place to be.
Well Jaquie dazed and confused! Happens to me when overuse pain meds I lose track of time, have often lost a day or days so its not uncommon for ud meds users. Sending best wishes and prayer gor your speedy recovery
From Minnesota.
I really hope you are getting well quickly and get to go home soon ❤️🙏
I hope you're feeling better!
Get well soon sorry to sea you in hospital again
Get better soon Jaq we worry about you!
I’ve started weekly IVs with Benadryl and it’s sooo weird. I get in the car and eat some food and then fall asleep until around 11 pm, waking up with a patchy memory of the day 😂
I send love and hugs from me and my family to you and yours!
Take care Jaquie!
That sounds rough. I hope you feel better soon!
hope you get better and get plenty of rest.
Oh yeah Benadryl is a deliriant drug if you take too much, plus if they gave you a benzo for the EpiPen that could've made the Benadryl even stronger!!! I'm glad you're okay and hopefully they find what you need soon :)
Sending Positive Vibes to you and I hopes you feel better soon.
Hope you feel better, you will get over this hurtle. 🌻💙🤗
