Do they let you out of your room with MRSA?? That is shocking to me!!! We are so strict with isolation precautions- esp with MRSA because it is soooo contagious and rampant.
Was in the hospital last year for cellulitis. Brutal pain! The nursing staff was the sweetest most compassionate I've experienced since I was a child. Even offering to let my pup come visit. (I turned that offer down, my pup is sweet and a help in my home but way too reactive for public).... Had to be on a heavy duty penicillin i.v. antibiotic. You got this Jaquie! Oh and also..... LOVE the silence button on iv poles! lol An awesome peds nurse showed me the silence button when I was a kid. :D
Hang in there, girl! 💪 You're such an inspiration and you're still accomplishing so much when you're knocked down. Can't wait until you're back on your feet and getting to enjoy your beautiful new home. 🏡 I'm glad you have such amazing friends like Izzy who are keeping you company in the meantime. 💗
I am watching your video while my dog was sleeping next to me, and when the alarm of your infusion started my dog jump up with a really concerned look on his face and he looked at my computer screen and then he looked at me and his face was like omg is she all right, I want to help her!!
I was just watching your autism video and as also being high functioned I get a lot of your things. The thing that helped me though was that being diagnosed young meant I could get early intervention which greatly helped my social skills such as reading expressions and spatial awareness. Although I do struggle sometimes and can't let go sometimes but I've found by trying to be more laid back and chill that its really helped and greatly reduces stress.
5:48 Hey Izzy! :D Thanks so much for supporting Jaquie! 11:51 I rarely have trash to throw away when I'm in bed, but I do like putting my trashcan on an office chair beside my bed, together with the home phone and my mobile phone. 12:32 tend to do Sudoku puzzles also.
When I'm in the hospital I have a deck of Phase 10 cards for when I have visitors. Sometimes we will go sit and play or visit in the waiting room to get a break from the gloomy room. When in for a longer period of time, we will try to personalize it a bit as well. Hang stuff on walls, have a digital photo frame scrolling thru photos of family, friends, pets, etc.
If you like sudoku try kakuro. It requires a bit of math but there are sites that break it down or apps with hints. You'll be able to memorize the common ones pretty quickly. Great video! Hope you get to feeling better and get home soon. Blessings on your new home!
I have an Ostomy so I make sure have plenty of supplies due to severe contact dermatitis to many manufacturers. I use organizer bins for the changing kit. I have my favorite throw, pillow and cooling pillow case. I bring fuzzy weekend socks. I also like comfy pjs, leggings, and Crohn’s awareness t-shirts. My favorite tie around rob and we always get a new pair of slip on slippers. I try to walk the floor often if I am able and that helps. I also bring favorite self care items that are natural products. Lip palm, lotion, facial wipes, etc. I have a kit with prepackaged items for travel and hospital ready to go. Also need my iPad, chargers and noise canceling EarPods. Gotta to have the Netflix fix and chatting with friends. Travel clock is also nice. I bring a small travel bible and prayer book. Good lotion enriched Kleenex box. A must.
I myself might be admitted next week so you’re tips are great, thank you for sharing. The blankets are not in my budget right now, but the ones you have suit you well 😀 I hope you get better each day that passes, much love Harlow, Judd and yourself ❤️
Thanks for sharing, hope you are well & home soon! Like you, I can be a regular guest inpatient :-( not fun to out it mildly. We have evolved a routine go bag now. When I am stuck inpatient unexpectedly, my teens or hubby can easily throw together not only my comfort items but theirs as well. My go bag includeds my own pillow & blanket, comfy clothes (metal free) so I can avoid hospital gowns, long charging cords for electronics, headphones ect & waterless self care so I can feel a little refreshed when I am too weak to get out of bed. For my family we try to have similar items plus snacks, puzzle books, extra cords & headphones ect. I have had extremely negative experiences when I do not have a knowledgable friend/family member with me at all times in patient. I am extremely blessed that my children are older so between them & my husband we can schedule someone to be with me nearly 24/7 even with long stays. By having a "go bag" we can have comfort items for myself and them with minimal effort. I think this has really helped and highly recommend for anyone who is often admitted. Any little item you can have from home really helps you (or at least for me) to feel more "human" & keep spirits a bit higher. Congrats on your upcoming closing, very exciting, and happy healthy thoughts/prayers for you.
I have a battery operated catcus shaped light that I leave on at night it's just enough for my nurses to see for vitals and lab draws but I can sleep with it on!!!! No more getting woken up by blazing lights!! They hit the bathroom light and I have a faster fall back asleep time( handy if you need lab draws every 4 hrs)
I haven't been in the hospital, but there are days I can't get out of bed. I know it's not the same but here's what helps me. I have a blanket that a family friend made me, I tend to watch calm movies like Kiki's Delivery Service, I have good books in arm distances. Just what I do on the hard days.
Sorry you are having to stay in the hospital so long. When I am not feeling well and wanting to distract myself I do puzzles or word searches. I also like to do adult coloring books. Try to rest as much as possible. Healing hugs sent to you.
glad the infection is a little better. sorry that you had a allergic reaction to the medication. sorry you're not feeling the best! but you look so much better today! you will definitely be out of there soon! 😁
When I was hospitalized my mom saved all the things that I didn't eat which could keep such as rolls, containers of applesauce, condiment packets, tea bags, etc. So later when I was hungry I had snacks available. She had a little storage system going on the windowsill.
I watch GOT too! It was a long wait but I am so glad it is here! I just found your channel in the last few weeks. I have Dysautonomia, pots, and a lot of other things too! We are AP's at Disney too! I hope I see you one day as my husband is pushing me around a lot too. My new goal is to get a wheelchair like yours. Praying for you and hope you made the home inspection today! 😊💫
Hey jaquie. I myself usually end up in hospital once a year for different reasons. I havre Basel cell carcenoma. It’s a cancer that thank god very slow growing and usually doesn’t travel but I’m one of those people that it has and it traveled to my lungs. So it’s a life long battle of on horribly strong drugs which have horrible side effects ... from not been able to taste food to my hair falling out to having breaks from the drugs ...usually around Christmas ...so I can taste my food... I feel your pain jaquie. Much love 💕
I owe a lot to you and Izzy so let her know that the video with you and get chatting on your couch made me realize that I'm pretty positive I have Dysautonomia/POTS. I have an appt with the cardiologist, neurologist and GI guy. I wish we had Mayo here but so far all of my providers have been great. Did y'all have special labwork done that you recommend. My PCP will literally order anything I ask for so I would I'd love to hear what y'all think I should ask for. You can DM me. My CBC numbers are all in the normal range but borderline.
Jaquie at the very first sign of a tiny little bump get to the doctor to check it immediately it's something that should be taken care of when it's first starts! Especially with your history of MRSA. That way you're not on the antibiotics or in the hospital. And if you are maybe it'll cut down how long you are. My tip for success hope you're feeling better. 👍
Jaquie I hope u feel better I’m thinking about to the Emergency Room cause I’ve had a fever for like 8 days now and my GP EDS and fibromyalgia are acting up bad can I gets some advice on how to go about this what do I ask for because whenever I go there they think I’m looking for drugs and making me seem like a drug seeker (which I’m not ) what and how do u go about this when u get bad pain and a flare. I really hope u feel better. Love Nikki
There's physical signs of pain in patients that the doctors and nurses know to look for to determine whether a person is actually in pain. Never ask for pain meds right off the bat or they will most definitely think you're drug seeking. Focus on explaining your symptoms and fever and don't go overboard when describing your pain.
I’m guessing that the smaller Soothing Weight blanket is what their website calls “Youth Weighted Blankets” am I right Jaquie? The 40”x 60” size? I’m thinking of getting one myself
Margaret Staunton, not in this video, in this video she mentioned a smaller blanket. Jaquie called it a travel blanket but I’m pretty sure it what Soothing Weight calls “Youth Weighted Blanket”
Hi Jaq, I am so sorry you had to be hospitalized due to a flare. I know you have so much going on right now with the walkthrough of your new house and settlement. I really hope you get to go home soon. Just remember you can only do so much when you are not feeling well. It will all work out. Try not to get to stressed about it. I was finally able to figure out Judd’s Moms address. Your Amazon housewarming gift has shipped. I hope this helps you all out in some small way. I remember what is was like when we bought our first home. You like to get some new things to go along with your new house. I am so happy for you. Harlow will love his new digs, lol. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. This is just a bump in the road. You will get back to old self soon. Big hugs 💗
Hi Jaquie, what is the name of the blanket company who made your pink blanket? Also do you have a list of where you get your supplies ie your wheelchair? It looks like a great wheel chair and I could use a good one! Thank you and always Praying for you xoxo
Congrats on your diagnosis! Sounds weird I know, but if you're like me you were relieved to finally know why your floppy body is so weird and traumatized, because you know its not un your head. Best of luck on your journey. Jacquie describes things so clearly. Between her and the Inspire message board I learned so much. Best wishes, fellow edser🤗💕
Where is the butler, manicurist, stylist, and Personsonal chef? I thought all hospital stays included them. Hang in there, you’ll get out; I know it seemed forever after my spinal surgeries (x23) but you’ll get out and running around Disney soon
Adorable person. With your Ellie the elephant. How do you stay so beautiful when you are so ill? You're a star a shinning good example for others. Happy to know that you've been able to stay in touch with Izzy, , , yay Skype! Please get well soon. Is there some rhyme or reason to 'where' you are picking up MRSA. GET WELL NICE PERSON. People love you and your 🦛 too 💐 ✌️ always -
Do they let you out of your room with MRSA?? That is shocking to me!!! We are so strict with isolation precautions- esp with MRSA because it is soooo contagious and rampant.

Tears in heaven
I like that fact you in a single room our hospital is a double bed . I hated it when I was in patient
I am watching your video while my dog was sleeping next to me, and when the alarm of your infusion started my dog jump up with a really concerned look on his face and he looked at my computer screen and then he looked at me and his face was like omg is she all right, I want to help her!!
I admire your positivity. Hope everything is better soon!
So proud of how strong you are to get thru these tuff days. God Bless. Thanks for the blogs I really enjoy keep up with your everyday life

Did they do a wound culture at all before starting the antibiotics??
And- do your contacts not ever cause mast cell issues???
get well soon
Wonder if you got a spider bite, I hope you feel better soon!
Waiting for your video today
Luv you
I love to color to distract me from pain. It’s addicting.
