femto needs to get a shop open out here in the us man smh
The problem is EPA regulations. It’s too risky so they won’t. There are 2 shops I know of in the US that can unlock the DME, but they will not advertise it for fear of getting shut down. You have to be an existing customer for them to even offer the service.
EPA+Marshalls are raiding performance shops that they believe are violating EPA laws and the fines are in the 7figure range
@@LuSt4boost BS. FEMTO guys are Russians, original from St. Petersburg. They operate in Finland for a while now, but they'd never get visas for US.

Im also a m340 owner, and i already plan to ship to femto to unlock
I have a 2021 M340 and i’ve shipped it out twice using EPC, and at 730 hp, I’m very happy I did😂.
The process is really no big deal, as long as you have a spare (or rent a) car for the week while the bimmer is down.

question, if i remove the battery of the car, in my case a 22 supra. will the automatic update setting reset?
It shouldnt. If you changed the update settings, it should stay that way regardless of battery removal.
I have a Bmw 330e 2022 b48 engine and Femto couldn´t unlock my Ecu.

Nice explain but you send the ECU to FEMTO and did not put a JB4 or similar becouse whit ECU unlock you can make more HP or its becouse its safer for the car ?
After FEMTO unlock, I tuned the car with BOOTMOD3 flash tune. Safer for the car than a piggyback.
Do I send it myself or is there a company here that can handle all those for in U.S?

did you ever get any Error codes after getting the DME back from femto or whoever delivered it there?
Nope! No error codes, no issues
What happens if they lose the DME
Good question. Not sure actually. Thats why I went with Euro Performance Center since they hand-deliver it, in person vs. shipping it. I have heard horror stories of people shipping their DMEs and DHL loses the package.
I got a 23 m340 and I think I’m gonna send mine out soon. If I include bm3 with the cost do they give femto the license number and everything? Or is it still on me to get femto all that info…. Just a lil confused how that all works. And I just get the ecu back and download bm3 and get a wifi cable and everything’s good?
If you purchase a BM3 license while ordering your FEMTO unlock, I believe that Euro Performance Center will be the one who orders the BM3 for you - so they will have that information and license number. After you get everything back, you'll want to have a wifi OBD dongle on hand ready to go. Euro Performance Center may ask you to download the mobile app and register ahead of time, not sure on that.

How many miles when did you tuned this car ?
Roughly 8-9K miles.
IF you have a ecu unlcok, but then make a update at your dealership it's going to lock it, is this the same lock and you have to send it to finland? or it's a different kind of lock, no way i 'm sending my ecy to the other side of the world ...
In order to flash tune, you have to have the DME unlocked. Currently, only FEMTO in Finland can unlock the ECU. If you get it unlocked and go to a dealership, and for whatever reason they mess with the DME and it locks, you will have to unlock again via FEMTO.
@@accelerated_motion A lot of people talk about BENCH unlock for the "lock after update" and no need to femto, femto is only for 2022+,, is this possible?
@@accelerated_motionjust sent my ecu out thru europerformance, I disabled the updates on my phone after I sent out the ecu but I did flash bm3 to read it did I mess up? I think I turn off the updates in the car aswell but not sure

How unlock multimap ? From Femto ? Someone can say me ?
You can buy the map bundle from BM3 if that’s who you are using for tuning.
So if you take your car to get serviced and they do a system update you need to send it back to Finland? Fucking nightmare, not worth the risk imo. Hopefully the dme is unlocked around the world soon
Correct - that is the risk that you take with FEMTO/Custom tuning. Thats why its important to turn off the automatic updates on your car and in the BMW app. Would also advise telling the dealership to NOT install any updates. Dont have to tell them why. I also dont like using dealerships anyway, because theyre insanely expensive.

Can I hook the battery back up after removing the dme? I want to be able to shut my trunk since I park outdoors
As stated in the video, I believe that you can reconnect the battery and close the trunk. I just wouldn’t turn the car on.

Are you not worried for your bmw's warranty void?
Nope - Ive been modifying cars for so long now that I dont care about warranty. Dealerships will find any reason to NOT have to fix your car for free under warranty.

You do realize that shipping cost, time/labor is all factored into the price, right? Of course itll be cheaper in euros when you're thousands of miles closer than anyone in the US.
@@accelerated_motion The fastest two-day shipping DHL option is 200 USD. That's 400 USD for shipping and less than 850 USD for unlocking to FEMTO. In total 1250USD. And all Bootmod and extra unlock options come for free. Plus you get it back in 5 working days in the best case, which is impossible to beat with any "personalized" option.
Labor required: registering account, filling in one form, paying, and ordering DHL shipping, all in all 1h.
The point for Euro Performance Center where they could really shine would be to offer full end-to-end service, meaning coming directly to the customer, taking out DME, sending it, and after unlock installing it back into the car (plus organizing a replacement car as an option). They could charge more and unlock a lot of tech unsavvy customers that are super scared to take out their DME from the car and install it back.
