Accurate info! MHD actually now have E40 map instead of the old E30 it is capable of high 7s low 8s 60-130 which I believe is super dope for an OTS. Also the sport cooling feature will not prevent your car from getting to operation temps I had this option flashed since day 1 on mhd and it works very well. There is now another cooling option that came out with MHD+ features which is the max-cooling. it is a live setting, meaning, you can turn it on without flashing and when the car is running, this lowers the threshold of temps when the fans will be running, I believe. with max cooling I noticed my coolant temps are on 70-80 degrees Celsius.
I think I'm going to go the same route as you and use the sport cooling option. I'll log the coolant and oil temps and go from there. Thanks for the great information.
Hey grumpy. I just got my dme back and tuned do you know what setting it is so my car only does the roar on warm starts? I dont want to piss my neighbors off in the morning 😭
@grumpyvetgarage is that the option to turn it off completely, or only cold starts? Stock it would only do the roar on warm starts, which I still want, but for some reason, it did on a cold start with the option on Also im not sure if its the tune itself but my car doesn't idle on cold starts anymore before it would have a little over 1krpm and slowly come down as the car warmed up but now it doesn't. So I'm not sure if I still should wait to drive
@@WNDRFL1 Turning off the "Start-up Roar" option makes it operate just like stock. If you selected "Cold Start Noise Reduction" it removes cold start fuel enrichment which will make the car idle somewhat rough on a cold start until it warms up. It shouldn't be rough more than a few seconds. If you don't like it you can unselect "Cold Start Noise Reduction" and it will behave like stock.
If you don't mind me asking how much was your shipping in total? Femto quoted me 160 but i just tried a quote through dhl and they're asking for $600 one way?
No worries. The Femto unlock process with Euro Performance Center was $1,600. If you chose the 1-Day return shipping option, its another $75. I brought the MHD Super License to run MHD+ with this purchase for $529. In total I paid $2,204. I cover the timeline for the unlock further in my follow-up video. th-cam.com/video/s6m-Wp7x6ug/w-d-xo.html
@grumpyvetgarage I ended up shipping directly. I think they got it? One thing for sure femtos direct support is not good at all. I tried contacting them multiple times. Anyways, do we have disable ota updates for the supra, or is that only for bmw cars?
@@WNDRFL1 The Supra doesn't have "Over the Air" capability like some high trim level BMW models, so we don't have to disable settings or worry about remote locking of our DME. Let me know how your direct shipping experience goes. Curious, how much faster it is than the Euro Performance Center option.
@@grumpyvetgarage thanks! I shipped it out on the 22nd it got there this morning of the 24th and is already on its way back. Return date says the 29th but im hoping it's a little sooner because the ship date to them was the 27th. All in all pretty fast
I considered bm3 before choosing MHD+. It came down to two factors. The first factor being the Motive Reflex integration for Port Injection with MHD+. I think it is the best and safest way (built in fail safes) to add port injection. The second and the biggest factor, is that I'm close to CES Motorsports for custom tuning. They have a dyno and the ability to work remotely with custom tuners. Ultimately, the choice between bm3 and MHD is personal preference and the availability of custom tuners for you to work with. Hope this answered your question.
The DME lock is definitely a pain, but I think Toyota needed to compromise in their BMW partnership to make the MKV Supra happen. The DME unlock is worth it.

I just hate how toyota allowed this DME lock
