Maybe it's just me, but I find this car extremely appealing on the outside. Calm, yet aggressive, sporty, yet luxurious. Just beautiful timeless design. One of the best looking cars to me!
The problem with the A4 and many Audis in general is that they look too bland on the outside and don't look expensive. Aside from the A7, A8, and of course R8. It actually needs more distinguishing characteristics from its VW cousin. In the looks department, it lags far behind the C class, Lexus and BMW. They had their chance again for 2017 but only changed what looks like 10 percent of the exterior.
+W-_-T While I appreciate your comments, I like the conservative look and feel Audi styling offers. The Lexus is way too busy with the front end and too many angles around the car. BMW and Porsche pretty much do the same thing as Audi as there isn't a huge change in style between the series. Given, the A4, A6 are similar in their design elements, (excluding the TT, A5, A7, A8, Q7 and R8) you really are only talking about two models?
Yes great comment. It's 2016 and Audi instead of offering more standard-equipment like the Jaguar XE does, it has the cheek to even cut back on it's losses!! For such a conservative (and dated with the sloping front-grille) exterior, you would have though either leather or VC came as standard to provide that 'bling' factor in Audi's token of generosity way they usually employ but,, nooope!! Throwing lots of SE at slightly lower price-points is the 1 thing Audi had as a deal-maker but even that has vanished now crazy!
even lexus offers way more standard equipment though, and looks far more distinguished both inside and out and looking on the roads, the IS is clearly selling more than audi's new model
+ashfaque ahmed Audi send 'press fleet cars' to different press teams, for reviewing purposes. The same car will end up being reviewed by several different teams.
I would challenge the MPG figures. My 64 plate A4 ultra was due to give around 65 mpg but hovers around the 55 mark. Not that surprised with their obvious priorities of selling units rather than customer honesty. Has auto trader managed to check the mpg actually vs the advertised figures?
It will hold up exceptionally well, no major issues or negative long term effects from driving. Take care of this vehicle it will surely last very long
Jonathan Haddad VW & Audi are built to last types of cars, if you fail to take car of the car eventually everything will break down at once i.e.. ***** And of course he DOES NOT know anything about Mercedes. He simply looks at the price of things without experience and claims it has poor reliability.
Jonathan Haddad BMW's are really good performance vehicles. Benz's are tough but like BMW you have to really keep a close eye on small parts fuel pump etc. Like a Porsche, I wouldn't recommend it but you can get away with abusing an Audi and drive no major issues for long amounts of time
0:5-025 It's a standard(typical) introduction of an A4 review from every journalist and every magazine for as long as i can remember. Either Bmw is leaping ahead with every new generation of the 3 series or you guys don't know what you're talking about(i bet it's the latter).Enough already, different cars for different people, audi don't need to "catch up" each brand has their customers.
I firmly believe that the Audi enigineers, simply can't keep up with the creativity of BM and Merc engineers. They just do a lower grade replica of BMW, a year after an innovation is presented by top rivals.
Man you have to got the virtual cockpit, it is the best thing for this car. Definitely go for the sline model for the line led and avoid this horrible alloy wheel.
I see BMW have manipulated figures by changing exhaust temperatures during lab testing on their 2 ltr diesel for Euro 6 cars but that was to 'prevent damaging the engine', they claimed. Very clever from BMW, but honestly whichever way you look at it, in its basic form, it's still cheating as real world figures show 320d NOx still 5 times over what BMW claim. It's a good job we don't all like BMWs as there are too many on the road already. It's common where I live.
seanzal oh my god completely sourceless information again 😂😂😂 dont hate on rear wheel drive, 50/50 weight balanced machines your ham fists cant handle 😂😂😂
seanzal it’s every car doing this. Vauxhall’s have this issue, Chrysler and all the others including Mercedes. VW cars were still emitting less though then the other manufacturers cars but because of the cheat device they got it worse
This is not the best specced version. It does not even have the unique features audi brought forward in the a4 in 2016.. Why are you reviewing a lower trim A4 ?? :/
why not? the thing at base spec costs a bomb anyway, Audi are either plain stupid or just drunk to make a base-spec that lacks so many standard features - and it's showing on the roads,, it's selling like crap Audi need to man-up, it's 2016 - outright Quality isn't everything now, you need quantity too. Hopefully they will learn their lesson next time but with spiraling C-class and BMW3 sales, it may be a bit too late,,, oh well!
Mulkyan lol you have the idea that accounting is boring, but it's not (maybe in the early days, but nowadays it has changed) + its really good money ;)
''bid to take the fight directly to BMW's door'' *checks* - still has front wheel drive on SE and the most boring, same-as-previous exterior in the CE world. -,-
Maybe it's just me, but I find this car extremely appealing on the outside. Calm, yet aggressive, sporty, yet luxurious.
Just beautiful timeless design. One of the best looking cars to me!
+Lubomír Dohnal It's not just you..
agree
ive just brought one. they're amazing...
Best looking interior in the class imo.
In UK manual cars are still common I like that

+W-_-T You had a point until you mentioned Lexus. Deary fucking me!
Yes great comment.

The B7 for my money and the original B5 are still the best A4 designs. The B8 onwards are almost dowdy. Better get a Passat and save some £££
I've found a cure for insomnia. Thanks Audi designers..
This is the same car that is also sent to CarBuyer; manual gearbox, classic dials and fabric upholstery.
No, its actually what 70% of a4 sales represent, the base front-wheel-drive model
+Mulkyan no it actually is the same car the number plates are the same
+ashfaque ahmed Audi send 'press fleet cars' to different press teams, for reviewing purposes. The same car will end up being reviewed by several different teams.

Your reviewing the new gen A4 without the virtual cockpit?
My thoughts exactly!
+matthew herrera wheres your review with the virtual cockpit?
Is Audi a reliable brand? Will this a4 hold up past its warranty or will it have costly repairs? Thanks
It will hold up exceptionally well, no major issues or negative long term effects from driving. Take care of this vehicle it will surely last very long
+Practical Life M6 how about bmw 328i?
+kowkicker1 do you know anything about bmw or Mercedes?

why didn't the Test Car not feature the Virtual Cokpit
I firmly believe that the Audi enigineers, simply can't keep up with the creativity of BM and Merc engineers. They just do a lower grade replica of BMW, a year after an innovation is presented by top rivals.
Crap. Audi isn't a racing car for guys with small Dicks. It's a comfort vehicle
Are you sure you didn't accidentally use the exterior footage from a prior Honda Accord review?
The new A4. Tailgating on a motorway near you soon!
+Joshua L hilarious josh.
That steering wheel looks huge was it taken from a Lorry?
o
Almost fell asleep when they showed the exterior!
Man you have to got the virtual cockpit, it is the best thing for this car. Definitely go for the sline model for the line led and avoid this horrible alloy wheel.
agreed I have the sline with the top trim....the virtual cockpit makes the c class and bmw interior look dated
This review on the 2016 just came out. Why review the 2016 when the 2017 just came out?
Isnt the volkswagen diesel engine in this illegal?

Illegal the only thing that should be illegal is you talking shit😂😂😂🤣
yes the new a6 is here....what this is the A4 !!! wow so similar but still different.

Accountants car
in a positive or negative way?
+flexifoil ion how is being called an accountant good? Hahaha they are more boring than librarians
Mulkyan lol you have the idea that accounting is boring, but it's not (maybe in the early days, but nowadays it has changed) + its really good money ;)
Mulkyan If you begin in accounting, you get this car from the first year you work and you build up since then. In my country though
flexifoil ion but still a boring job tho
Can you get 3 people in the back
+Bradley Crandon Yes, but the middle headrest is an option.
+Jonathan Oakey WTF are you saying man?????????
an '8' or shudder,, above in the 0-60 time is utterly criminal
very bad; stick with the Jag or big C; they are 7.4sec on the base-eco model!!
''bid to take the fight directly to BMW's door''
*checks* - still has front wheel drive on SE and the most boring, same-as-previous exterior in the CE world.
-,-
no RWD ? NO THX !!!
+Andrei Arama Where have you been for the last 30+ years. Audi offers Quattro not real wheel drive cars.
+John Jerrehian REAL wheel drive ??? 😅😅😅
