There are times in the comics that Wanda is in the good side, and tends to make mistakes or stumbles when it comes to her powers. this is such a devastating scene.. but after watching the full movie, it doesnt hit as hard and emotionally as it could have, because disney and marvel keep throwing in stupid jokes and light hearted moments to dismiss the destruction and sadness that happened in this scene. no emotional duress, no impactful music, just fight, escape, laugh it off, crack a joke, fight again, crack some more jokes.
This is why most people were invested in the emotional Impact watching Days of Future Past-because the audience was able not only see the stakes but FEEL the dread, and High Stakes.

They wasted scarlet witch in this movie. They couldve had her contract the big bad in this movie to start off her descent into madness and the end credits scene would reveal that she was begin the whole scheme. This way they couldve saved Scarlet witch for a reality warping nuclear event that woudlve legitimately tied into the Loki multiverse storyline and introduced the Xmen into the main timeline.
Imagine in a Plot Twist that Dr. Strange (and he still had the TIME STONE) were the surprise Main Antagonist of this film with Wanda (having both Chaos Magic and Reality Warping Powers) was the one protecting the Chavez girl. Wanda was in her grieving stage and she wanted to learn her powers (she said at the end of WandaVision) so no one could hurt again, so in order to learn her powers, she needed the Darkhold (because the book has an entire chapter devoted to her) She didn't know the book corrupts everyone and everything it touches. I don't know why others don't get that Wanda was being corrupted.
Anyone who reads the Darkhold will lose their mind and soul, especially to Wanda whos mentally and emotionally unstable bcs of the traumas. the book easily corrupted her. I know her actions with the book aren't acceptable but it is understandable. That ONE scene was the extent of the fun they had with multiverse stuff. It’s what people expected would be the majority of the movie.
I really wish they'd put more effort into the story because visually this movie was really fun, and this scene is an example of that. The story just made so little sense that while you can enjoy this scene out of context, if you frame it with the entire movie it's cool factor is overshadowed by the fact that it just doesn't make any sense. Like how does Wanda even know about America if there is only one of her in all the multi-verse and she's not from this universe?

Wanda didn't know what she was doing, she just lost her husband and children and found a book. After she opened it, she probably started hearing her childrens' screams and seeing their lives. This is what happens when the writers don’t read (aren’t allowed to read?) the WandaVision scripts beforehand.
Her character arc is so different in that, yes she’s got the Darkhold but she’s come mostly to terms with her grief. She’s sorry about the town, she punishes Agatha when she easily could have crushed the life out of her. And most importantly, _she lets her kids go, herself._
So when in MoM she turns callous about other’s lives and bent on destruction, it makes no sense. Unless she lost control and the Darkhold really effed her up. That’s all I can think. Jac Schaeffer must have been frustrated though.

Wanda was in her grieving stage and she wanted to learn her powers (she said at the end of WandaVision) so no one could hurt again, so in order to learn her powers, she needed the Darkhold (because the book has an entire chapter devoted to her) She didn't know the book corrupts everyone and everything it touches. I don't know why others don't get that Wanda was being corrupted.
Anyone who reads the Darkhold will lose their mind and soul, especially to Wanda whos mentally and emotionally unstable bcs of the traumas. the book easily corrupted her. I know her actions with the book aren't acceptable but it is understandable. Eventually, she broke out of the book's infuence and destroyed the darkhold in every universe so no one can be tempted and corrupted by the book again.
