I love that Wanda had to use trickery instead of just using her powers to beat Agatha, because in most of the other movies she had to use her abilities to beat her opponents but here she uses her powers and her brain!

Before being associated with anything Avengers, before being reduced to being telekinetic and magical, before being reduced to as a simple “chaos witch of doom”. She, is the first mutant daughter of Magneto, sister to Polaris (from the Gifted), Quicksilver from the reboot X-Films from Fox as a “doppelgänger” in Wanda Vision, and the MCU “Pietro”. Scarlet Witch, like the X-men, paved their ways because of one common denominator. Mutants. The OG. MCU ain’t ready yet for what X-Men truly demands. Extravagant CGI and goofy sarcasm isn’t enough for good X-Men content.

No not at all. If she had killed Agatha she would’ve never been able to absorb Agathas’s powers (plus the other witches) along with hers which unlocked her ability to become the scarlet witch. So it was well played out. Wanda for president 2024?

This is a common misconception people keep making about the scene where Wanda absorbs her chaos magic back. She does not absorb anything from Agatha. She becomes the Scarlet Witch officially after taking the Darkhold from Agatha during this fight. The Darkhold is what makes her far more powerful because it's rightfully hers. She doesn't need anyone's magic to be powerful because unlike other witches and sorcerers, she doesn't need a coven, incantations, or to draw magic from the universe. She draws it from within herself, that is what makes her so powerful and the Scarlet Witch. She's the antithesis of the Phoenix. The Scarlet Witch is responsible for all creations that are unnatural as well as being a nexus being. Her magic is cosmic level, able to affect even the multiverse itself. The only people Wanda absorbs abilities from is America Chavez and Earth 838's Captain Marvel.
So Wanda is a really good listener, she listened to what Agatha said and used it against her. That's why in the MoM she was able to defeat Black Bolt easily lol.
Exactly, I like how Wanda doesn’t dismiss her opponents words, she actually listens to what they say and remembers. Because Wanda could have easily dismissed what Reed said about Black Bolt but she actually took caution and stopped him just in case.
I love when Agatha says Wanda’s never been up against another witch before. Shows the power levels witches are on in the MCU compared to other characters.
By this point in time though, Agatha had already hunted, drained, and stolen every powerful witch's magic before battling Wanda. We will probably never get to see them, unless Marvel's **allegedly planned** Agatha series shows how she hunted some of the most powerful witches and absorbed their powers to get ready for the battle with The Scarlet Witch after learning about her prophecy in the Darkhold.
I don't think they de-aged Kathryn because I saw in an Interview where she said that she doesn't really wear that much makeup in her real life and that may be why she looks younger than she actually is because she has a good complexion. Hey I'm 34 and I look much younger than I am and that is because I don't wear a lot of makeup either and I take care of my skin.

Wandavision has still been one of the coolest and most emotional pieces of MCU media that has been released. Other than that one line at the end, “they’ll never understand what you gave up for them..”, everything else was perfect. 7:08 is such a cool shot.
6:33 this was the outfit she needed in the mcu films for civil War, infinity War and endgame etc. Everyone else had more comic accurate outfits and people like falcon and vision were given a more modern stylisation to their outfits. This one for Wanda wouldav been amazing to see

It got clipped from this video but when Agatha (Kathryne Hahn) is defeated and says, "okie dokie artichokie" Kathryne delivers the line perfectly. I can "see" the witch who's being trapped and yet is, in the back of her mind, still aware of everything and that she's powerless to do anything about it. You can see the mixed feelings in her facial expressions as well as the tiny hint of frustration in her voice. Honestly, one of the best examples of acting I've ever seen!
Wanda doesn't only have a high battle IQ. She also have a photographic memory like Strange, when she easily remembered all those runes that she only knew now. THAT"S A QUEEN
Tbh it’s not that hard to remember something like that. Plus the runes wanda has were different in shape meaning she made her own. But wanda definitely could cast a spell for photographic memory, she doesn’t have reality warping for nothing lol
Wanda can cast spells by just thinking them into reality though. She doesn't need to learn how to cast it or how they looked to create them. Just learning about them, Wanda can create them with her mind alone. Agatha never showed Wanda how to cast the spell, she only saw how they looked. Also, learning protection spells like the runes or absorbing other witches magic took Agatha centuries to learn how to cast. However, I agree she is battle IQ smart.

fun fact: while they're battling in the sky, Wanda intentionally misses 4 shots to place her runes all around the walls of the Hex without Agatha seeing or realizing that she's setting her own trap.
At first I assumed Agatha only inadvertenly taught Wanda about runes, but now after watching the whole scene again I realize twice Wanda had learnt skills from Agatha, because in the Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda just used her magic to increase her speed of movement to the point hardly anyone could catch up with her. Early on when Wanda and Vision are talking we see Agatha appear from thin air, later on when Wanda is fighting in the town proper we see Wanda disappear with a smile as if to say I can do it better

Wanda is one of the 6 most powerful beings in the MCU. One of the six beings to have powers related to the infinity stones. If the other 5 including captain marvel were on the same team. They would be unstoppable.
I love how creative and smart Wanda is in this fight. She quickly learned that Agatha can absorb her power blasts, so she resorted to telekinesis, mind manipulation and ultimately consecrating the whole town so that Agatha cannot use her power on her anymore.
The pained “HiYa hUN!” and Wanda’s little smile Phewww Say what you want about ep. 9-I loved it. You get to see Billy and Tommy out of the concept of a sitcom, which brought home the idea they’re really people and a real family-and this battle was *SICK.* In every sense of the word. :))))
They never explained why Agatha was more powerful than an entire coven or why those witches would try the same spell over and over when it CLEARLY wasn't working.
The witches spell used was supposed to destroy a supernatural being. They tried to use that spell but wasnt working. The only spell that was different was Agatha's mom. Even if they tried to use a different spell, they wouldve been absorbed anyways.
Because Agatha is a succubus- possessing the ability to take/absorb others powers. That is why the coven and the leader could not kill her, Agatha absorbed their spells magic. Agatha says to Wanda before they fight "I take power from the undeserving...its kind of my thing" She's a succubus witch, and an extremely powerful one as well.
1) she wasn’t more powerful, she can absorb others’ power. 2)Other than the coven leader, all the other witches only cast the one spell, once Agatha started absorbing their power they were incapable of stopping, the leader was only given a second chance because Agatha disrupted her attack. 3) The leader(possibly her actual mother) attempted a second more focused/powerful spell to destroy her, but I think partially because of absorbing the others’ powers, Agatha was able to overcome her.
I was so happy to see Kathryn Hahn play a role like this. Ive only really seen her play a goofball in movies and be hilarious in them. And in this we got to see a different side of her. She did amazing. This show was a 10000000/10
Regardless, Agatha Harkness is pretty bad ass. I wish she could be apart of Dr. Strange 2, and it would be cool if she had an interaction with Loki. I can dream.

After watching Agatha All Along, I just realized how much magical juice Wanda has compared to the other witches. Which is why Agatha been drinking her up like Gatorade 😭
A very interesting detail I noticed. All the times Agatha absorbed Wanda’s power before it would turn purple as she pulled it out of them. Once Wanda started putting up the runes it always stayed red showing Agatha wasn’t really absorbing it. Look at the first time she blasts Agatha in front of Billy and Tommy as Agatha absorbs it it turns purple. Nice detail there

If there is tva then there is no chance in hell they could do that and since we didn't see them there that means aos is non canon. They have been hinting the same since wandavision when darkhold changed appearances! Darkhold was taken away by ghost rider in hell so that it should not affect normal people and yet Agatha possesses it and had been possessing it since a long time! So, Aos is non canon.
in the Scarlet Witch solo comics, Wanda and the ghost of Agatha travel around the world and even through dimensions to try and "fix witchcraft", this is when Wanda learns that most witchcraft practitioners have a "colored magical aura", Wanda's own aura is of course scarlet, and on her journey, she'd meet other colored aura bearers, such as the Emerald Warlock Declan Dane, who was trying to steal colored magical aura from others to increase his own power
in this show, we see that Agatha Harkness has a violet magical aura, and the witch she was fighting against in the vision had blue magical aura, Wanda still has her signature scarlet magical aura

Agatha could absorb the others' powers and attacks and Wanda deliberately attacked her to wake up the Runes, one of which is "Possession" to get back her powers and suck Agatha's powers as well.
Apparently Agents of Shield is not canon with the MCU because seeing Robbie Reyes would be dope. The way he goes to other dimensions is very similar to how Dr Strange gets around with the sling ring
@@insidedenirosmind8553 Idk if they’re really connected 100% but the way I see it is Robbie Reyes took the dark hold into the dark dimensions then Morgan La Frey brought it back out when she escaped and stashed it in the hotel she was living in, and then somehow Agatha stole it. So it’s nice to see the book travel from show to show in that respect.
But if you look at the Dark Hold in agents of shield and the one in Wandavision the cover looks very different. I even thought the book was from the library in Kamataj in Dr Strange. I really hope in Multiverse of Madness that the Darkhold real origin gets explained

I wonder why Agatha did not turn insane like Wanda and other universe’s Dr.Strange after possessing the darkhold. About being evil stuff, she was evil minded for centuries so that does not count i think.
So, when Agathas moms coven attacks her, they're all basically out for blood; they want her head and that's that. When she basically siphons their life force from them by way of drawing in their magic, her mom steps up to try and finish the job. When she does that, pay attention to her head. She gets a crown that's IDENTICAL to Wanda's except it's that baby blue shade of magic instead of crimson red. I wonder if their magic is connected. Maybe originating from similar places. I'm also wondering if the coven Agatha kills here is the coven that comes tracking her down in Coven Of Chaos, seeking vengeance for her killing them. 🤔
The one question I have is why we're the other witches trying to kill Agatha because she's a witch when they're witches too? I'm thinking it's more than because Agatha broke their rules
the effects they use for Wandas powers was much better in Captain America Civil War, and End Game. In this they look like they didn't care how her powers looked.
agatha wasnt a bad guy in the comics as far as i know so im very confused agatha was her mentor. yes at the house of m agatha wiped wandas memory of her losing her kids and wanda killed her for it when she got her memory back, but agatha wiped her memory coz she was unstable. also it wasnt the dark hold that possessed wanda. it was when she went to dr doom and they both used magic to access the Life force energy and that sudden intake of primordial energy ended up possessing wanda, leading to her destroying avengers headquarters with ..... i believe a reaninmated corpse... could be wrong about that bit as a nexus being wanda is a hub for all kinds of magical energy being able to do pretty much anything when accompanies with her probability magic mutant ability this film had so many issues. they didnt want to use house of m as a base line and yet they basically ignored all the developement she had in wandavision..... and like the whole point of the version of his kids that were real were that they were the split soul of the demon pandemonium. and her chaos magic comes from a demon who is the origin of chaos magic. but her general mutant ability is to manipulate probabilities in all of its aspects and make them real. from making a leaf fall off a branch to making radioactive mans atoms stop producing energy so that he loses his powers. she has never been a "stable" character, in fact its for that reason the eye of agamotto didnt chose her as the sorcerer supreme at one point. there is SOOOOOOO MUCH important context that both wanda vision and this film are missing and because disney have retcond both her origin and story so clunkily..... they have done wanda so flippin dirty which makes me so mad coz she is one of the most interesting marvel characters coz the only other characters comparable to her power are jean grey and her inheriters of the pheonix force and franklin richard who litrally fused with galactus at the end of this marvel universe and the birth of the new universe and the new living tribunal of that new universe. marvel movies have kinda just made a mess of things now adays
Really liked Wandavision: imo Agatha's hubris in this scene is plausible because her narcissism and blind thirst for power was so well established, unlike a lot of marvel villains (kudos to Hahn, i think she played it for all its worth). Agatha didn't "forget" that Wanda was clever, her ego left her exposed, and Wanda knew exactly how to use it against her. Very much looking forward to these two eventually having another showdown, when i'm in an elderly rest home...
Love the Scarlet Witch. Olsen nailed her character. I hated that they hyped up how her boys needed help, and then went no where with it. That could have easily been a great movie in itself.
Years have passed, and people still think Wanda became the Scarlet Witch after absorbing Agatha's power. Technically, yes because that's what had been visualized in the series but that's wrong. Wanda has been The Scarlet Witch all along. She's a prophecy from the Darkhold, that means whether she encountered and absorbed Agatha's powers or not, she'll always be the Scarlet Witch and all she needs is an awakening. Chaos magic relied heavily on the user's mental and emotional stability. We can see Wanda's magic grow as she slowly become more and more mentally unstable. Because her magic is a fraction of Elder God Chthon's soul and he created the Chaos magic to corrupt the user and eventually lose their mind, giving him an opportunity to possess the Scarlet Witch and wreak havoc. Now, Agatha's intention for wanting Wanda's power may not have been revealed but it's been hinted. "Power isn't your problem, it's knowledge", Agatha said. With that, we can say that Agatha has the knowledge to use the Darkhold but she can't use it to its full potential because that book was intended for Chaos magic which only Wanda possessed. She may have learned some dark tricks from the book, but she can't use it properly because those spells are etched in the walls of Mt Wundagore which is the throne dedicated for the Scarlet Witch. "Give me your power and I will fix the flaws in your original spell", here even Agatha knew her magic can't match Chaos that she needed to bargain. It's obvious that Agatha want more power, yes, but she can't unlock the true power of the Darkhold unless she uses Chaos Magic. Also,
It was a good witch fight, You don't get many of those in modern TV. This is what I was hoping for in Once Upon a Time, whenever Regina and Zelena would square up.
I just don't see this happening though? Like the character development for wanda in wandavision was a LOT. You can see she feels guilty about her actions, she willingly gave her family up in the end to save the town. Sure I can see her making another play to get her family back, but I feel like its been an incredibly soft build towards her becoming a straight up villain. And she's clearly starting to get more of a handle of her powers too - so her losing control again is pretty unlikely to me. I hope the whole wanda being a villain thing is a bit of a bamboozle and there's someone in the background pulling the strings for dr strange 2. Hopefully the intro for the demons now that the darkhold is around.

Exactly, I like how Wanda doesn’t dismiss her opponents words, she actually listens to what they say and remembers. Because Wanda could have easily dismissed what Reed said about Black Bolt but she actually took caution and stopped him just in case.

I love when Agatha says Wanda’s never been up against another witch before. Shows the power levels witches are on in the MCU compared to other characters.
By this point in time though, Agatha had already hunted, drained, and stolen every powerful witch's magic before battling Wanda. We will probably never get to see them, unless Marvel's **allegedly planned** Agatha series shows how she hunted some of the most powerful witches and absorbed their powers to get ready for the battle with The Scarlet Witch after learning about her prophecy in the Darkhold.

It got clipped from this video but when Agatha (Kathryne Hahn) is defeated and says, "okie dokie artichokie" Kathryne delivers the line perfectly. I can "see" the witch who's being trapped and yet is, in the back of her mind, still aware of everything and that she's powerless to do anything about it. You can see the mixed feelings in her facial expressions as well as the tiny hint of frustration in her voice.

Wanda doesn't only have a high battle IQ. She also have a photographic memory like Strange, when she easily remembered all those runes that she only knew now. THAT"S A QUEEN

Wanda can cast spells by just thinking them into reality though. She doesn't need to learn how to cast it or how they looked to create them. Just learning about them, Wanda can create them with her mind alone. Agatha never showed Wanda how to cast the spell, she only saw how they looked. Also, learning protection spells like the runes or absorbing other witches magic took Agatha centuries to learn how to cast. However, I agree she is battle IQ smart.

At first I assumed Agatha only inadvertenly taught Wanda about runes, but now after watching the whole scene again I realize twice Wanda had learnt skills from Agatha, because in the Avengers: Age of Ultron, Wanda just used her magic to increase her speed of movement to the point hardly anyone could catch up with her.
Early on when Wanda and Vision are talking we see Agatha appear from thin air, later on when Wanda is fighting in the town proper we see Wanda disappear with a smile as if to say I can do it better
She copied the spell she used to choke Billy and Tommy on the west view people too

The witches spell used was supposed to destroy a supernatural being. They tried to use that spell but wasnt working. The only spell that was different was Agatha's mom. Even if they tried to use a different spell, they wouldve been absorbed anyways.

2)Other than the coven leader, all the other witches only cast the one spell, once Agatha started absorbing their power they were incapable of stopping, the leader was only given a second chance because Agatha disrupted her attack.
3) The leader(possibly her actual mother) attempted a second more focused/powerful spell to destroy her, but I think partially because of absorbing the others’ powers, Agatha was able to overcome her.
I was so happy to see Kathryn Hahn play a role like this. Ive only really seen her play a goofball in movies and be hilarious in them. And in this we got to see a different side of her. She did amazing. This show was a 10000000/10

A very interesting detail I noticed. All the times Agatha absorbed Wanda’s power before it would turn purple as she pulled it out of them. Once Wanda started putting up the runes it always stayed red showing Agatha wasn’t really absorbing it. Look at the first time she blasts Agatha in front of Billy and Tommy as Agatha absorbs it it turns purple. Nice detail there

this film had so many issues. they didnt want to use house of m as a base line and yet they basically ignored all the developement she had in wandavision..... and like the whole point of the version of his kids that were real were that they were the split soul of the demon pandemonium. and her chaos magic comes from a demon who is the origin of chaos magic. but her general mutant ability is to manipulate probabilities in all of its aspects and make them real. from making a leaf fall off a branch to making radioactive mans atoms stop producing energy so that he loses his powers.
she has never been a "stable" character, in fact its for that reason the eye of agamotto didnt chose her as the sorcerer supreme at one point.
there is SOOOOOOO MUCH important context that both wanda vision and this film are missing and because disney have retcond both her origin and story so clunkily..... they have done wanda so flippin dirty which makes me so mad coz she is one of the most interesting marvel characters coz the only other characters comparable to her power are jean grey and her inheriters of the pheonix force and franklin richard who litrally fused with galactus at the end of this marvel universe and the birth of the new universe and the new living tribunal of that new universe.

Really liked Wandavision: imo Agatha's hubris in this scene is plausible because her narcissism and blind thirst for power was so well established, unlike a lot of marvel villains (kudos to Hahn, i think she played it for all its worth). Agatha didn't "forget" that Wanda was clever, her ego left her exposed, and Wanda knew exactly how to use it against her. Very much looking forward to these two eventually having another showdown, when i'm in an elderly rest home...
And we are now at "no more mutants". Or more likely "Mutants". That would be a great way to bring them in.

Years have passed, and people still think Wanda became the Scarlet Witch after absorbing Agatha's power. Technically, yes because that's what had been visualized in the series but that's wrong. Wanda has been The Scarlet Witch all along. She's a prophecy from the Darkhold, that means whether she encountered and absorbed Agatha's powers or not, she'll always be the Scarlet Witch and all she needs is an awakening.
Chaos magic relied heavily on the user's mental and emotional stability. We can see Wanda's magic grow as she slowly become more and more mentally unstable. Because her magic is a fraction of Elder God Chthon's soul and he created the Chaos magic to corrupt the user and eventually lose their mind, giving him an opportunity to possess the Scarlet Witch and wreak havoc.
Now, Agatha's intention for wanting Wanda's power may not have been revealed but it's been hinted. "Power isn't your problem, it's knowledge", Agatha said. With that, we can say that Agatha has the knowledge to use the Darkhold but she can't use it to its full potential because that book was intended for Chaos magic which only Wanda possessed. She may have learned some dark tricks from the book, but she can't use it properly because those spells are etched in the walls of Mt Wundagore which is the throne dedicated for the Scarlet Witch. It's obvious that Agatha want more power, yes, but she can't unlock the true power of the Darkhold unless she uses Chaos Magic.

It was a good witch fight, You don't get many of those in modern TV.
This is what I was hoping for in Once Upon a Time, whenever Regina and Zelena would square up.

I just don't see this happening though? Like the character development for wanda in wandavision was a LOT. You can see she feels guilty about her actions, she willingly gave her family up in the end to save the town. Sure I can see her making another play to get her family back, but I feel like its been an incredibly soft build towards her becoming a straight up villain. And she's clearly starting to get more of a handle of her powers too - so her losing control again is pretty unlikely to me. I hope the whole wanda being a villain thing is a bit of a bamboozle and there's someone in the background pulling the strings for dr strange 2. Hopefully the intro for the demons now that the darkhold is around.
