What memories Corbin will have??? Excavator is just wow. Way to allow kids to actually experience what they're interested in. Too many kids do not have hands on experience. He was safe and how else are the kids supposed to learn learn?
Aboard a ship between the Greenland and Norwegian seas heading to Iceland and it is so heartwarming in this frigid climate to catch your replay. What a treat!
My brother just flew from France to Iceland and Greenland and he took several gorgeous photos of the ice and snow capped mountains!!! Enjoy your trip!!!
I know basements are a rare "animal" in some states (i.e. FL). My sister lives in FL, in Fernadina Beach, and she has a full basement. Her SO built the house for her and because she is from NH and always had a basement, he went the extra mile to give her one. I always thought that was so sweet!
My wife and I love to watch your podcast each week. We even sat in our camper while on vacation to see what was going to happen. I do have one request though. Please do not sheetrock the ceiling in your basements. As a service electrician, I can say that creates a lot of problems if there is an electrical issue and you need to trace the wiring or even want to add circuit down the road. It can be a problem for other tradesmen as well. I see this several times a week. A couple of times we couldn't find the problem. Although lay in drop ceilings aren't as attractive, they are much better in basements due to easier access. No matter what, we will continue to watch and enjoy your shows!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tom!!!!!!!!!!
My landlord's kids are grown up now and they frequently go away for days or weeks and leave no emergency contact number. Even the breaker switches are all in their part of the house. Blown in window, water leak, plugged chimney: no one to call. Please think about back up for your renters to call in an emergency.
I really love that you are teaching your kids those things. So important for adulthood and for confidence! You are doing a great job with those 4! I’m glad you tell us that they complain. And that you stick to your guns!! I can tell you love them and that you respect them as little people. Respect is huge. Both ways.
You both have such beautiful happy eyes when you are laughing! Some renters have no idea how to not mess up the septic system, one repeat "plugger" finally got given a limit of owner-paid cleanouts so encourage a bit more care about what they were putting down there
When you talk about laying down a rug in a basement. That's what we did, it works great. Surprisingly, when kids can run and throw nerf balls and have all kinds of fun, they don't care if the walls are finished or not. The only areas we have that are completely finished are 2 bedrooms. The rest of it is still berkwall's and we enjoy the space. I always had a dream of my basement completely finished but that never happened. When I watched the 2 of you, you encouraged me to look at what I can do. The things that are important and let go of the other things. I don't think you too realize how what you share. How it inspires others. Plus I have also gotten rid of so much thank you.
Greetings from the middle of Nebraska!! Happy Birthday Tom. Our oldest son just turned 40 this summer. Life begins at 40!!! Loved all the questions and answers. We have a Menards where I live, no Lowe's or Home Depot but we love Menards! Can't wait to see all the progress on the homes. You guys are very entertaining and a joy to follow!! Thank you!
Missed the live. We've decided to downsize and someone wanted to see our house today! Thankfully I had decluttered so much it was quick tidying! Thank you!
When we decided to sell our previous home it was a piece of cake. Minimal lifestyle and everyday tidy and laundry was key. I hope you sell quickly. Congrats!
It was good to catch you both live! I always seem to miss them! Thanks for answering all our questions you all are the best couple on TH-cam hands down!!!
So interesting hearing you talk about basements, I live in Canada and every house has a basement. We use them for bedrooms, bathrooms, recreation rooms, offices and storage. If they’re made well they aren’t wet.
We live in Canada in the north. We use our basement for a live in area. Putting weeping tiles outside the perimeter of the basement and adding the right sealant on the outside of the cement and having a sump pump in the basement has kept our basement dry and livable for 30 years. So maybe a bit more research in how to build a better basement might be helpful.
I feel like your backdrop is too pretty for a show called Rusty Judgement and you should be sitting on stools in front of a garage door or in the midst of one of your projects or something. Either way, you guys are always enjoyable to watch!
Our basements in Wyoming are commonly used for living space. Some are just storage but a lot of houses around here have completely finished basements. Ours is carpeted and we've had no problems with moisture. An addition was put on the house about 20 years ago and included 2 sump pumps which have kept out any water but rarely ever come on.
Hi... 👋 Just watching it now....always miss it when it's live. Just saying..... if you ever decide you'd like to visit Ireland 🇮🇪 and do a house swap..... like "The holiday" I'd be up for that!! 😄 And funnily enough, our closest village to us, is called Monard. I'm sure you'd feel right at home! 😀 Great video!! Thanks 😊
I have to tell you you inspired me to paint my kitchen cabinets in my kitchen. My daughter and her friend came and sanded and primed. I painted the bottom cabinets the same color that you did the farmhouse, and upper cabinets are a color of weight that I had bought last year. I want to back up what you always talk about. How good sherman williams paint is it is fantastic. My mom has used that brand of paint for many years in her kitchen. Thank you for encouraging others, Thank you for your wisdom. I have had backsplash for 3 years, and so I look forward to your video showing how. Mine are Subway tile, but it's on sheets. I've been trying to recruit one of my two sons to help. They keep trying to tell me, mom. Take the challenge, you can do it, oh my. Now I tell them I watch your videos to learn the things to do that I haven't done. I so appreciate them. I get my stuff at menards. I had bought white grout that was already mixed up, But since I changed to paint in my bottom cabinethe color that you didn't your farmhouse that you're doing, My family said I should go a different color grout. I appreciate you saying where you got it. I think I'll have to go look at home depot. My problem is because it's cheaper to get paint by the gallon. Instead of 2 qt many times. And I was originally gonna paint the bottom of my cabinet's weight. Now I have all this extra paint. What do you do with it? Or how long would you say you would keep paint and it would still be stored properly??? Just a general idea. I do have to tell you my son who lives in Southern minnesota, His first tile job, my daughter in law told him to do was herringbone around their gas fireplace. I told him all the things you do for love. That's you and Dawn ❤a fantastic example of love and working together ❤ My family member did the radon thing in their basement they live in southern minnesota. They don't have an issue, but other people do in their area, because they want to eventually put a bedroom in the basement. They want to be protected. I never realized it was a issue. I never knew that basements would never meant to be used. But I can tell you we love ours. I don't know what I would do without it. Especially when my kids were young and the long winter. I have a family member that years ago that lives North of us in Minnesota, they added on to their house, and they dug a new basement underneath worked really nice. I think the day you get to finally do the things you want to do on your farmhouse I think the day you get to finally do the things you want to do on your farmhouse. I think that's The Thing everybody is waiting for to see that bea utiful Transformation, you have already done so much. If you could have your dreams style of home, what would it look like to you and Dawn? Also, could you ever do a video? That shows how to patch a wall. The kind that has that little bit of orange peel. For some reason no matter how I paint. It never's perfectly smooth and when I have to patch a hole. You can see it through the primer and paint.
Please help with drywall how to!!! We have a huge patch job that keeps giving us problems. Every time we think its flat when l paint it there is still a huge hill 😩. Great video always enjoy watching y’all!! ❤️
That was a great suggestion about the home inspection. I didn’t know you could be there when they’re inspecting your home that was really good info and they are working for us. Thank you.
I love you 2… inspirational! so knowledgeable about keeping up on your house fixing your house. You guys are a great team. God bless you both❣️ you are a blessing to us.
You could always have a simple composting toilet if you change your mind. And you have electricity, so you could plug in a microwave, hotplate or coffee maker. Problems solved for your workshop.
I was wondering how long you could make daily videos. That i too much for any human who has other things in life to do. Thank you for whatever, whenever.
I wasn’t able to stay for all of the live but it was so nice to see you both! I wanted to ask if you’ll be running a financial peace university course (I think that what it’s called!) in the new year? Thanks in advance! :)
What is the brand name of the grout? Our grout on an exterior wall has cracked where it meets the countertop. If the grout you use is flexible, I wonder if that would resolve it.
I had a shower for my 4th child because we got a GIRL! After my sister had boys, I had boys, we needed some new things and had the party when she had arrived (we didn't know we were getting a girl). That was super fun!
??? Did you know that all you have to do re: concrete, is multiply the length by the width of the floor and divide by 9 . You will get the sq. yds. needed! 👍
Do they call it unsanded grout? We did our counter tops with it 25 years ago and it's white and held up perfectly. You tube is very lucrative. Didn't she just have a baby not long ago? Wow!
There might be an alternative solution to a bathroom with full plumbing - maybe a composting toilet? Also, how about a video drywall repair with a popcorn ceiling? Don't want the cost of a full new sprayed of the popcorn ceiling.
What memories Corbin will have??? Excavator is just wow. Way to allow kids to actually experience what they're interested in. Too many kids do not have hands on experience. He was safe and how else are the kids supposed to learn learn?

Tom, if Dawn is going to combine your birthday party with celebrating the completion of the farmhouse, you should insist on having two cakes!
My landlord's kids are grown up now and they frequently go away for days or weeks and leave no emergency contact number. Even the breaker switches are all in their part of the house. Happy 40th birthday Tom!!! God is truly BLESSING you all!
I absolutely love the picture of the pitcher behind you! 😂😂😂❤❤❤

When we were looking for a home, my daddy always said look under the house to see if it’s dry, and check the water pressure.

Great visit, Dawn & Tom ! Happppppy Birthday , Tom ! The Big 4 - OH !
It’s so good to see YOU ! I love you guys ! Liz
Hello Tom & Dawn! Nice to see you today!
So interesting hearing you talk about basements, I live in Canada and every house has a basement. We use them for bedrooms, bathrooms, recreation rooms, offices and storage. If they’re made well they aren’t wet.
We don’t have many here in Southeast US; lots of awful red clay…it needs a lot more prep to survive the expansion and contraction…adds $$$$.
Every time someone asks Tom when something is going to be done and he responds, in my head I hear him say, "Two days!". Ha! Loved that video!😂

Hello.. it's great to see you both..
😊
I agree, Dawn. I have also come to the conclusion that limited storage is a blessing!
Our basements in Wyoming are commonly used for living space. Some are just storage but a lot of houses around here have completely finished basements. You two are the sweetest. Thanks for making me smile.
watched the replay. So much fun! Love seeing your smiling faces!!! ❤❤

That was a great suggestion about the home inspection. I didn’t know you could be there when they’re inspecting your home that was really good info and they are working for us. Thank you.
Tom. please post agin soon! You are missed!
Good afternoon! Happy Friday!😎☀️
Love you both 😊
I love you 2… inspirational! so knowledgeable about keeping up on your house fixing your house. You guys are a great team. God bless you both❣️ you are a blessing to us.
Hello, Tom and Dawn❤️❤️
You could always have a simple composting toilet if you change your mind. And you have electricity, so you could plug in a microwave, hotplate or coffee maker. Problems solved for your workshop.
I am all about the one level living... no basement.
Love hanging with you💕
Can you show how to fix drywall screw pops?
Skim coat i s not quick. I agree. I did an entire house and it was so time consuming.
??? Please tell us the brand of the great grout from HD. Thanks! 🙋♀️🥰👍
Hello from Kansas 😊.
My son just bought his first house, I know he had a good realtor and good advice cause he went with my friend. ;)
Nice looking good in Mammies new sorted out office space!
I was wondering how long you could make daily videos. That i too much for any human who has other things in life to do. Thank you for whatever, whenever.
Subway tile is really over, done to death. Grout sounds interesting, though!
We live in Ontario Canada,,, and our temp today is 7 degrees
Hi both of you💕
Installing a security camera and solar set up.
Katrina here 😅 from Australia.
2 Days 😂😂😂❤❤❤ yes I remember that video.
Happy Friday!!!
Wonderful information, i just love you both
Maybe a video on what to do if there are water leaks in the house and what to do?
hello. I really like your friday show
I wasn’t able to stay for all of the live but it was so nice to see you both! I wanted to ask if you’ll be running a financial peace university course (I think that what it’s called!) in the new year? Thanks in advance! :)
When we were doing some home updates my husband was at Menards so much! Employee’s knew him by name. They said he should just get a job there!
Would you ever use concrete countertops?
And yes we all have vapor barriers in our basement floors around here it wouldn’t pass inspection without it
Lol when you said a sprinkle I thought you meant a baby baptism. 😂😂
Moses was as fit and strong the day he died at age 120. You can have that level of fitness, too!
Enjoyed you !
What is the brand name of the grout? Our grout on an exterior wall has cracked where it meets the countertop. If the grout you use is flexible, I wonder if that would resolve it.
Personally I hate subway tile looks cheap and reminds me of to many goidbye places like bus stations, etc in the military..
I had a shower for my 4th child because we got a GIRL! After my sister had boys, I had boys, we needed some new things and had the party when she had arrived (we didn't know we were getting a girl). That was super fun!
You could put in a compost toilet I keep a big bottle of hand sanitizer there
??? Did you know that all you have to do re: concrete, is multiply the length by the width of the floor and divide by 9 . You will get the sq. yds. needed! 👍
Except concrete is in cubic yards.
??Do u think it would be a good idea to put vinyl flooring over ceramic tile flooring or not?
What are the people asking about when they mention the staircase renovation?
??? What happens without a vapor barrier on cement?
My friend had her Son working on a back hoe at 5 years old. He was better than the professional adults.
Which Menards?
Sorry Tom, you keep saying one project at a time since the staircase flipping 😂 never happens…
Can u paint counter tops I got pink laminate in my kitchen hate them
Hey Dawn,
Have you done a vlog about homeschooling? I don’t think people realize that homeschooling doesn’t last from 8 am to 4 pm.
In the rentals maybe think about painting basement ceiling black instead of finishing. We have seen people going to that around us and it looks good
🎉
?? Is there a NEW BABY Yet????
Do they call it unsanded grout? We did our counter tops with it 25 years ago and it's white and held up perfectly. You tube is very lucrative. Didn't she just have a baby not long ago? Wow!
Unsanded is harder and smaller grain.
@@madusonkeeper it worked perfect, only have to bleach once in awhile.
I love watching you guys. Have you done a car basic care video?
Do you pay the kids both for the work they do and being on your channel? Start accounts for them?
I mean work on the rental houses.
There might be an alternative solution to a bathroom with full plumbing - maybe a composting toilet?
Also, how about a video drywall repair with a popcorn ceiling? Don't want the cost of a full new sprayed of the popcorn ceiling.
