I just got back from a trip to Kanchanaburi, and oh my god - it's so beautiful - it's among the most stunning views I have seen in my life. Especially when you get closer to the Burmese border, I visited Thong Pha Phum national park and the Pilok abandoned mining town. If you ride a motorcycle, the last 50 km or so on the way to Pilok is just a neverending road of twists, bends and corners - I thought I was in paradise.
I’m popping over again for a few weeks, first time in 8 years. First time was way back in 2006 and nearly every year after that. I miss the place, I’ve done the travelling bit and it’s nice just to let your hair down once in a while and meet new people. I arrive Boxing Day and I’ll be sure to pop into The Buzzin Lounge while there. Great videos! Keep up the great info 👍
Good to know and be prepared - Bolt in the rainy season - when it rains, especially on the weekend, it is sometimes very difficult to book a CAR. Fares are rising, in some cases there are no cars available at all, you have to expect a waiting time of up to 20 minutes or a cancellation. Still the best way to get around, no trip within Pattaya usually costs more than 100 baht/3 US$
You mention the rapid rate of changes in Pattaya but when I first visited in 1990 Soi Buakhao had not yet been given a name on the maps. I dug out an old "What's On" guide from 1990 and it shows the Diana Inn hotel still located on Soi Pattaya - where the Edge is now located. The Honey Inn is the only thing of note on the map in the guide, which is further away from Soi Pattaya and the beach than the Diana Inn.
I have been showing thiland on my tv &they regret not going my brother in law was going razytjey where saying that now now know why I went to thiland so much &when I explain it more to them they could not believe how good it was lucky me😊

Just having visited Pattaya 3 weeks ago things are changing for sure since my last visit in 2022. There sure is a lot of Indian, Russian and Chinese people and the old western (s)expat seemed to be relocating from Walking Street to Treetown and soi 6. A lot of money is being invested in remodeling venues to the new audience demographics. Not a fan of the Indian blokes roaming around in groups. More than once I saw them chatting up staff at 7-11, which looked like a distraction maneuver while others in the group would try and steal stuff.
Hooters of my knowledge is very western style bar. Been to Hooters twice just for a change accross NANA in BKK. The staff acted western. I got a full blown western attitude my way, no service purposely, and no one came for the bill in 2019. I wasn't there for the girls in Hooters, but rather for what is going on outside because of the view. Next day I met some one in Hooters, same debacle, but worse. I guess it is for new and green people. Nothing better then a local bar owned by Thais or private fallang.

Little expensive and the 2 times I went to hooters in Bangkok the manager told me they will check the cameras to see how much I gave the waitress. They don’t have cameras in hooters. Being No1 is important. I think being National Champion at this sport means you cannot be beaten in any state if you travel. If there's more than one opponent, this may involve another kind of sporting code such as the involvement of equipment etc. Often if there is no referee the bout may not be officially sanctioned. Having girlfriends and colleges partake in these activities could question the validity of these titles.
