Thank you for not making me feel silly for being worried about box jumps. My trainer tried to get me to do it w/ an 18 inch box (I'm 5 foot 2) and I just panicked and kept kicking the box instead 😅 we moved to a 12 inch box but I felt silly
Thank you! I want to overcome my fears of box jumps! I will definitely put these moves into practice to do just that! Thank you for this encouraging video!
I wish you worked at my gym. I love the rope test and may try it, but I think I already know how that would end… I can jump on the 12 inch box, but so what? Everyone else jumps on the 45 inch box like it’s nothing, and so I avoid the 12 inch box so as not to feel even more humiliation in the daily cross training class. I’ll try the rope test tomorrow, when there’s no one in that room. But I know I couldn’t clear it at 45 inches. Thank you for a really good video.
Like I mentioned on my other comment - focus on the path and the progress! There are a lot of steps between 12 and 45 inches. Take it bit by bit. Be kind to yourself first though.
Thank you! This might be very useful! Yesterday at the gym I got the se one hight of the boxes to jumped and i couldn't do it. It felt pretty silly, so much that I'm still thinking about it. Lol.
I do wonder how far into the the surface of the box i have to jump. I am kinda jumping on it like a parkourist on the cliffend of the box but with the forefoot landing, but i suppose i should just jump towards the middle of the box.
Great question. I'd think of it as risk vs reward. Clipping your barefoot on a wooden box while jumping could derail your training for a bit, so I'd personally wear shoes.
This is great. For so long now I've been dreaming of stealing fluffy belly feathers of low flying birds . Now I have the confidence to accomplish my goals. Thanks again 🦸🕊️

The rope idea is a game changer! Can't wait to hear about your successes!

It's a tough skill to "just do" -- but hopefully these progressions help! (And you can suggest the video to your trainer).
You are not alone in this box jumps make my feet freeze🤣😂
Thank you! Going to learn how to land softly without the box first!

Great to hear!
Yes, I desire to box jump in a few moments/days soon. 😂
Thank you
Thank you :)
I nailed my first box jump earlier this week. Great tips :)
Congrats! That's great to hear!
Thank you

Glad it could help! You got this!
And yes, we made this video because we have experienced this "silly" fear and wanted to help people over it!
This was super helpful
Great to hear!
I am so glad I’m the only who fears these!!!
wait wait wait - I'm not the only person who doesn't know how to jump??
That's why we made a video! 😆
The fear is real, but hopefully the video helps!
😂😂😂😂 Apparently you're not!!!!

Jump a little farther in and see how it feels!
We just wanted to help prevent people from jumping forward into the box. (ouch!)
Will do boss! Also nice tip to step of the box instead of jumping back down. Will try out tomorrow!
😄😄😄 realy.
Do you recommend jumping barefoot? I do all my strength training barefoot, as was pondering whether or not I should put on shoes for jumping.

@@NerdFitness You mention clipping a foot. What's the most common way to get banged up if you miss a jump? Thanks!
@@gordonv.cormack3216 - I see catching a foot and/or racking one's shins into the box as the most common occurrence!
When Half Life 3 dude?
God loves you! Also please try to turn to God and not sin!
