    I should also mention that these irons are solid stainless steel. So anyone attempting a restore on their own irons, more than likely they will be plated with something so the process will not be the same, unless the plating is properly stripped first.

      how would I know and what is the process?

      @redhed9776 you would have to look up the specs on the irons in question. But honestly 95% of irons are plated. I looked awhile for a set of cavity/blades in stainless. As far is stripping goes I never got into it. A lot of chemicals involved.

    Was thinking to just debur my forged irons too on the topline and sole parts only n brush nickel plate them.

    Though I'd love to do this with my own irons set in the future, it is worth noting for anyone who would care, that iron restoration like this actually makes the club illegal for tournament use... not that most of us weekend golfers would ever care, but as far as I know, putters are the only thing you can get away with restoring and still playing tournaments with...

      Just curious what would make this illegal for tournaments? As far as I know, as long as the grooves are "conforming" barely any material was taken from the face. And only about 3 grams total from the entire head.

      Realistically, anyone restoring irons are doing so with older irons. Most in which are probably not conforming to half the crap rules that are out there anyways.

      @@igolf906 As far as I was told if you alter the club head permanently with a restoration, that 3 grams loss you had, is what makes it illegal as it theoretically makes the club head lighter and could increase swing speed. I could be totally wrong about this as I was told this by someone who regularly played, but I've never honestly looked it up myself. I just trusted who told me that...

      @@shmirginhymer1867 Wouldn't argue that point one bit...

      @CnyAutofreakRacingVideo Hm. I don't know the rules either but, you could do the same thing by taking out factory tip weights and what not. Slippery slope I guess but, I would assume unless you're playing amature tournaments where there's a lot of money involved, no one will know, let alone enforce something like that. But who knows.

    How long do you generally spend on each wheel? I really enjoy your videos man, always top notch.

      From start to finish, I usually spend 20-40 minutes on the grinder each. That's for putters also.

    Love the videos, I want to start doing this too! What is the grit grade of the coarse wheel you use?

    • @igolf906
      @igolf906  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's 240 grit.
