Gorgeous. Just bought one off eBay, I now feel inspired.
Thanks! I'm working on another Studio Style NP2 for myself. This one will be a very special custom project! Very excited about it!
@@igolf906 I’m thinking of going bold with the colours
That looks deadly bro well done
Thank you!
Great job
Thanks!
The Studio Style is my favorite SC putter. This one turned out awesome!
Thanks! That GSS insert just feels so different compared to any other Newport out there
@@igolf906 I just bought one off eBay because it’s the only Scotty that has a gss insert. I’m curious to how it feels and I’m super excited to use it.
@@rickystelzer You won't be disappointed. If you're a feel person with putting this and copper is the best hands down!
@@igolf906 thanks. I also have the studio select Newport 2. Does it feel softer than that? I hear GSS is the best feeling ever and it’s a shame they don’t use it on any other models
@@rickystelzer I wouldn't base it off being softer, just a different type of soft. To me it feels like a springy click softness off the face, and when you hit the sweet spot, you definitely feel it.
Black on black on slate black! i like!
Because of your videos I’ve just started playing around with club restoration a little bit. I know you have a place you send your putters to when they need re-milling work done and I’m curious if there has ever been a time you were able to touch up a nick or dent on a milled face without fully re-doing it. Have you ever taken a lightly milled face with damage and taken it down to flat instead of milling it? Thanks for the videos keep them coming
Yes I've smoothed out many faces. Depends on the putter and what the customer wants. Almost every Tei3 gets a smooth face.
@@igolf906 great I’ll watch some of your Tei3 videos and give it a try since I’m my own customer. Appreciate the response!
Awesome work! What type/grit do you use for the bench grinder?? Thanks
Check the description. All the tools and equipment used is in there.
What cerakote are you using?
@wildlifeobsession8857 this is Gloss black. But I use Graphite black the most. All H series
Is around the insert held in with caulk or just paint?
It's a polymer/caulk. It's not held in with that. It has double sided tape and screws holding the insert in. The polymer is just to fill the gap for esthetics.
Surprised you got that double sided tape to work! I tried the same one and it was too thick so I had to get something much thinner. Either way, looks unreal.
Thanks! I've tried many different tapes. The standard 3M VBH tape is way too thick. And finding that style thinner is tough. So I found this black foam style tape that's pretty thin and works great!
Looks great! Did you use a bluing method to get the black finish or is that a coating you're spraying on it?
So you didn't watch the video? 3:27
Its Cerakote. A 2 part coating that you bake on. Very durable.
@@igolf906what color of Cerakote did you use? And did you buff the Cerakote black finish? It looked more shiny on the bottom when you turned it over. Good job!
@@joeyjohnsonphotography Gloss black
What do you use for stands when you bake the cerakote?
Blocks of graphite I had from past projects. Drilled holes to fit pieces of shaft or steel rod in the hosel.
Have a few made out of old mallet putters also.
@@igolf906 always appreciate the insight, thanks!!
How much did you charge for this? Looking to restore mine potentially 😊

What’s with the phantom
I got many projects going at once!
What grit media did you use after getting it back from face milling? Did it knock down the milling marks at all?
For cerakote prep it's 100 grit aluminum oxide. That's required for Cerakote. And no it has little affect on the milling.
