    Hi Jesse! I’m Milan from Los Angeles. My son is moving to St. Paul in 90 days, he went there to visit and now all of a sudden... he’s moving!😢 Tbh I’m not taking this well...and that’s why I want to thank you so much for putting out these fun and informative videos. Your videos have eased my mind really helped me get an idea of what life is like out there. Your content is genuine, intelligent and funny AF. I can only hope my baby is happy and meeting awesome people like you in St. Paul. Thanks again!💗

    Hey man I just visited Minneapolis for my birthday in June with my wife and just fell absolutely in love. We’re coming again in October and have all but decided that Minnesota is our destiny. Probably too soon to start talking about real estate yet but your videos get me even more excited and when it is the time I hope I can still reach you.

    Dude, I totally wish this video had been around before I moved to the Twin Cities for grad school (without knowing anyone there) back in 2006. Everyone laughed at me when I busted out my ankle length down parka when it snowed the first time in October. But how I grew to love the place. I miss living there terribly.

    I got a kick out of your video. You actually could rename this one Wisconsin instead of Minnesota and still be spot on! I love the part about the Minnesota goodbye….Wisconsin people do exactly the same thing! (I’m a Wisconsin native with a daughter in Minnesota). I personally just thought it was a family thing with us, thank you for clarifying that many of us have the same issue. Keep up the good work!

    As a Minnesota guy. Sunmers are insanely nice here! However sometime in mid October a cold front comes threw, temperature drops to 15 degrees and windy. And you go, shit forgot about winter!😂🤣😂

      Never said I was smart. In my defense I smoke a lot of weeds😁. But I'm also a great driver in the snow. I drove in some monster blizzards. In deep snow, over 8-9 inches on the road, tho it depends on the vehicle. So in deep snow don't stop! If you stop your likely stuck. If you have a snow drift in your way, hit it as fast as you can. Hopefully the snow drift isn't a buried car😂😂😂😂

    I am hoping to move to Minnesota soon and I have been watching your videos and they are very helpful, thank you. I also really like how you've decorated your home. 2 questions, where do you buy your plants from, and is that a standing lamp to help that plant grow, where did you buy it? LOL

    Nerd Alert!! :) The "Street vs Avenue" issue is completely opposite in Northeast Minneapolis (the area northeast of the Mississippi River). There, streets run North-South and Avenues run East-West. The reason is because Northeast was originally a separate city called St. Anthony. It eventually merged with Minneapolis in the 19th Century but still retained the traditional naming convention. Also, in this part of the city, Streets (North-South) were named for the Presidents. So, from west to east, you have streets named Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, etc. All the way to Kennedy. Growing up there, It was a super-easy cheat in elementary school to learn the succession of Presidents because all you had to do was remember the streets that separated you from your friends. :)

    We say ope and beyg in Montana too! 😂 I get made fun of all the time whenever I visit other states. I also switched to saying soda over pop. It's much more universal.
    As for cold weather, we have LONG winters too. Fortunately, it's not humid, so it's not AS bad as the Midwest, but we definitely get those Arctic winds and it's AWFUL!

    • @ToTheTwinCities
      @ToTheTwinCities  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hahaha that’s amazing. You’d be at home here 😂 And, I love Montana too! The winters are indeed brutal though! And it’s never quite as warm as it gets here which I suppose is either good or bad, depending on the person!

    My struggle is my Mother is from MN and I was born there but grew up in NJ Italian Dad, so I’ve experienced both cultures throughout my life. It could be neither one is ideal for me. But when I hear you pronounce Bag it sounds like beg..and all the other pronunciations even Pop for soda I’d rather just avoid hearing all that!
    I don’t love Jersey but I just can’t stand the Scandinavian ways and accent truthfully that is prevalent throughout MN!

      Riding Metro Transit alot i learned where everything is and I have a Photographic Memory. The best way to get to know Saint paul id say take University all the way down to Robert Street and then just let your GPS do rest its hard to explain when I have such a Huge Photographic memory.
      One key of advise always remem the Street your on. Or if your on a Back road in the cities remember it and how it'll get you back to where u started. I would have to show you myself cause its easier lol.

      I grew up in St Paul and worked for the Postal Service. Street numbers in St Paul don't end at the end of the block ... for instance, the "300s" could go on for four blocks! But I get lost when I cross the river. At least in St Paul, there is only one 3rd Street. In Mpls, they have 33rd Av N, 33rd Av NE, 33rd Av S, 33rd Av SE, and 33rd Pl N.
