    Born, raised and longtime resident of Minneapolis (now New Mexico), I can personally attest to the wisdom and accuracy of their Top 10 selections. This is perhaps the best summary of the Mini Apple's greatest hits!

    In addition to the sites that you’ve featured on this video I’d recommend the Weismann Art Museum at the University of Minnesota (architect: Frank Gehry) and the Guthrie Theater. Also, that much maligned industrial riverfront is why there’s a Minneapolis at all!

  • @somedudewithaface3336
    @somedudewithaface3336 2 ปีที่แล้ว +15

    The industrial riverfront by the stone arch bridge has been kept that way for its historical value. If you can appreciate the history it has its own aesthetic qualities

    Another attraction in downtown is the Foshay tower. The observation deck is $10 and it has great views of the city.

    Love my city. I agree with most of this list. Another great thing to do in my city is drive on the Parkways, Catch a play at the many theaters. Like, The Guthrie and Children’s Theater. And one of my absolute favorite activities is Como Zoo’s flower conservatory plus Japanese Garden and the MN Zoo. We have so many amazing restaurants as well. The Minnesota Arboretum is beyond beautiful and definitely a favorite for me. I also agree that the Global Market is an incredible place. Thanks for making this video.

      I think you'll like it here. If you're going to be here in the next week or so, make sure to go to the MN State Fair. Walking or riding around any of the Chain of Lakes lakes is nice. Also, don't sleep on St. Paul. It's got some really nice stuff downtown and lots of trails along the river, and Como Park is very nice, Zoo, Conservatory, lots of open space, and 2 or 4 person pedal surreys you can rent to ride around Lake Como.

      Sorry. Our videos try to only include activities people can do year-round. We never include festivals, sporting events, concert venues, etc. for which you have to be there at a specific date and time. Besides, we're Bear fans 😅.

      I was being a bit sarcastic. I enjoyed the Twin Cities for decades, hearing great music, eating wonderful meals and visiting friends and family without worry. That all changed after the rioting in 2019. Now you see hostility to your presence from certain groups and violent crime has risen dramatically. This saddens me.

    Unfortunatley, Minneapolis has become very dangerous over the last couple of years. Crime has exploded and many of the neighborhoods you mention here are NOT SAFE for tourists. I would recommend staying outside the Minneapolis/St. Paul area if you're in MN. Lots of other things to do and see without the risk.

    1. Have your car stolen, 2. Get shot 3. Get assaulted on the light rail 4. Be approached by people begging, 5. Have to take a detour because of protesters on the highway. 6. Be hot by a car spinning in an intersection, 7. Get driven off the road, 8. Be bored to tears by local broadcasters who think they are celebrities 10. Deal with passive aggressive Scandinavians with switchblades

    Best thing to do is stay out of Minneapolis, on the fear of all the crime. Shootings, car thefts, assaults, and robberies; it’s amazing how often these happen during day time hours. The city is short of 300 police officers, it will be a long time before I visit again.

      You can also visit the numerous homeless encampments, where drug addicts loot and burn down law abiding citzens homes . Thamks to the Democrat run government, that voted and actually did defund the police, and now they wonder why no cops want to work there. During the riots, that the city council called "protests" , the so called mayor, ordered the police to abandon one of the precincts, which was soon burnt down by the "peaceful protestors". Yes most definately a wonderful city! I wouldn't live or visit there, if they paid me!

    All those talking about the crime in Minneapolis are cowards. It's not any worse than anywhere else has become. Yes, crime is on the rise... but it's because people are broke and desperate. As a Minneapolitan, I think this video is spot on. One addition I might suggest is George Floyd square, the site of his murder and ground zero of the racial reckoning in 2020. A place to pay respects and ponder the ongoing work of promoting racial equity. Thank you! Looking forward to watching your other videos!
