You'll never regret keeping a AAA membership. You WILL need it at some point for something...frozen locks, dead battery, towing services, breakdown, stranded, etc. Just about everyone has went in the ditch, got stuck in a sowbank, slid into or got slid into at least once
I was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and raised in DinkyTown. I ALWAYS make sure to keep my wiper fluid filled. I even keep an extra jug in car because when the snow starts to melt, this stuff flys off the shelf. I cannot stress enough how important wiper fluid is, especially when the snow starts to melt after a winter of salt, sand, exhaust and dirt mixed in with it. This slop will completely cover your windshield and you will not be able to see through it. I have had to roll down my window and stick my head out because my windshield is covered and I ran out of wiper fluid. It's a very dangerous situation.
Took a position in St.Paul with zero knowledge of Minnesota. With just over a week before relocating, it was nice to come across these videos. Much appreciated.
I live in Phoenix.... famous for, come on vacation, leave on probation 🤭🤭🤭.. Seriously though I love it here....I can do gardening in February....also I hate it here, the racial politics here will do you in ... Sorta speak
I was born and raised not too far north of the cities and spent a lot of time down there growing up so in a sense its kind of like another hometown for me. I haven't been back there in years. Like everyplace else from what I can see from your videos the area has gone through a lot of changes. I just enjoy "going along for the ride" and seeing how things look now. I have lived in the Tampa Bay area now for 30+ years and would have a really hard time getting used to the winters again. Keep up the good work and I'll continue to tune in! :-)
I haven't been to the Twin Cities. But I'd love to see how a city like them can embrace the cold. I'd love to skate the frozen rivers and see if it's really true that Minnesota is a mini-Canada (do you say "aboot" and "soarry?") Where I am in Oklahoma City, it averages only 7 inches of snow a year. But this February we got a cold spell where OKC got a low of -15F (without wind chill), the coldest temp since 1899, and it brought our seasonal snowfall to 23 inches. All the rivers froze over. Truly a cold spell comparable to MSP.
I agree with you! I was just there in October, and it was 25 and I was freezing. I had double layers of clothes on and it wasn’t enough. I have been there many times before and it was even colder.
Hey Jesse! I’m moving to Minneapolis in August. I’m only moving there for a year fora Clinical internship at the VA Medical Center so I’m renting an apartment. And even though I am not buying, I found your channel to learn about the area and bro I love your channel. I’m so excited to move there and explore all of the neighborhoods you share about and this winter prep video is huge so thanks man! Big fan. If I ever run into you out and about, I owe you a beer for these videos!
@@ToTheTwinCities Honestly every single video you have I’m like “oh houses in this area looks nice”😂Haven’t narrowed it down quite yet but I will soon take a trip out there and hit you up when I do! Thank you for all That you do! The detail, The love and the care that goes into creating your videos is in art!
Looking to move to Minnesota from the UK with my partner and baby who live in oklahoma so these videos are super helpful! I'm just wondering what are some good neighbourhoods for families?
Linden Hills in Minneapolis. Linden Hills has it’s own special area slightly removed. Young families and a beautiful neighborhood. It’s right next to Lake Harriet. So beautiful. If you want more suburban, go to Eden Prairie. It’s awesome. Also check out the Lake Minnetonka area. Several beautiful communities there.
hey i have a question what type of jacket is good for living in Minnesota. is there any on amazon or walmart or somewhere that is affordable thanks. and the boots where to get some thanks
Hey!! Acme comedy club in Downtown is amazing, there’s also a one in the Mall of America that gets great national acts! And for the northern lights you’ll probably have to go a bit further north in Minnesota. Probably North or Duluth! I’ve seen them from Two Harbors, MN.
What's up, I'm name is Andrew. I am currently living in Hawai'i but I have family ties in Minnesota. Three generations on my grandfather's side and even longer on my grandmother's side. I had the privilege of being in that great state for a period of time but nothing permanent. Largely because of my fear of the winter. I've gotten older and my desire to live in the mid-west has gotten stronger. 2021 may be my year to return and if so, I may need your assistance.
Honestly, that is not something I know a ton about! I even asked my retired mom and she said she didn’t know much about that! If you want a contact for a tax person let me know!
It's not tax friendly for anybody. It's just part of the price of living there. Houses are luxurious and cheap by coastal standards, which in most cases more than makes up for the higher taxes.
You forgot to mention anti-freeze radiator coolant.
Ahhhh yes! I’ll pin this comment!
It's the same product in all states. It's called antifreeze in cold states, coolant here in hot ones.

Just got back from visiting some friends in Saint Paul and I’m contemplating in moving to Minnesota from California 😊

"It gets dry" the average year round humidity where i live is like 8-12%. I don't think it'll ever get "too dry" in MN lol.
Dress in layers!

Love to hear that! Congrats on the new job and welcome to the Twin Cities!
Am I the only one that think it’s so pretty when it snow in the twin cities?! 💙
Definitely not! The snow is so beautiful! It just takes some adjusting!

Maybe you could talk about median income for different occupations and median house prices and rent amounts for different areas
Not from Minnesota, but that sounds bout right to me👍👍👍

That would suck there. Your furnaces are not made for that. And I'm sure OK doesn't have the snow removal equipment.
I'm from Vegas and I definitely needed this video ty for this!!!

Am Considering St. Paul for When I Retire, But have read that Minnesota is Not a Tax Friendly State for Retirees, what do You think Jesse??

It’s a high tax state and MN even taxes Social Security 🤯
Can I use Tire Chains (Snow Chains) instead of getting expensive tires?
I’m not sure if it’s illegal but basically nobody uses chains here! Most tires in tire stores here are all season and that is sufficient!
@@ToTheTwinCities Thank you for that info!

I’m with you 😉. I moved to Southern California from the Twin Cities 25 years ago. It’d be tough to move back.
