The mother's response to the other son was telling.... I am one of 3 (middle child). My youngest brother is the one who has made poor decisions all his life... he's in his mid-40s. My mother has coddled him all his life. The girls (my sister and I) have been tasked by my mom to constantly constantly help him out. We've done it out of respect for her - and some allegiance for our younger brother... but, enough is enough. YET - my mom -- to this day -- will constantly complain about him - yet she will still stand up for and indirectly want us to help. She's spent probably over 100K to help him out... it's just tiring. I can see the exhaustion and frustration on the brother's face... and, I know the momma loves her son - despite how he is and has been treating her.
Exactly what I was thinking. If a cop fell and he hit the gas, that cop would have gotten life altering injuries if not died from them. It's why some place will view a car as a suspect being armed as "assault with a deadly weapon" if they use their car to try and attack someone.
They never should have suspended! A dude runs a 3,000lb car towards you while high on meth and the equivalent of 20 shots deep - what else would you do

I can’t believe why anyone would want to be a cop in this country today…..it’s a dangerous job….in a dangerous environment….where you are expected to always make the right decision and no mistakes…..the pay is ok but not nearly as much as it should be for the extremely high risk factors. I’m glad we have them….

Yooo ain’t gonna lie this ladies son (the not crazy one) is kind of a badass😭🤣 love that protective instinct too. “They better do something, before I find him”
Now don't get me wrong because I have huge respect for police officers and the job they do but why didn't someone just pull in front of him so he couldn't drive away? They claim any vehicle is considered a weapon yet they allow this weapon to run wild instead of securing the situation. We have a few family members who are police officers and I love them dearly but neither have a lick of common sense. They go out each day risking their lives to save ours yet couldn't hit water if they fell out of my boat. Again, I have huge respect for what they do but someone with common sense needs to take control of these situations before innocent people start getting hurt. This drug problem mixed with mental illness is not getting any better so training must be done in order to keep our police officers safe.
My brother is the same way. Kidnapped, tortured, restrained our mother for 9 hours, trying to get her to turn over all her assets to him since she was a notary. She immediately ran screaming out of the house. He said he did nothing wrong, f"ing pyscho. He lives in Arizona
“So far no crimes have been committed” How is threatening someone life not a crime? come on. Threatening someone's life is considered a criminal threat and can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony.

Dude was a menace. Glad the cops took care of him before he went on a mass shooting or something.
Yeah, but it would be nicer if we didn't have these people on the loose and needing the cops to end then. Gotta get those asylums up and running again
You got a crystal ball?? They murdered her son. Call mental health professionals not men with guns who are itching to use them
@@Kinetic.44 Okay liberal. Smh.
@@Kinetic.44 The cops could be a link to mental health professionals or maybe just maybe a tiny part of her wanted him gone. The parents needed something to be done right now and going to the cops made sense.
@@auaiao9 What is the very first thing they do? Point guns at him. What are they looking for the whole time they are pointing their guns? Any sudden or fertive motion that can be articulated as a threat, "he's reaching he's reaching (for a weapon)" Most young men become cops and military so they can legally do violence to others, or did you not know that.
Why is it that all cops in all states always fail to box in cars effectively?
Because they don't want to damage the car. When a car is damaged, it's out of commission until fix. These small towns don't have the luxury of having a back up police cruiser or money to fix.
Car was behind properties not on road and everything happened very quickly....did you watch the whole thing even?
I don't think the last cop wanted to drive up infront of the car if he had a gun, he could have that, after all they had him at gunpoint.
The officer is wrong saying "there's been no crime". Saying "I'm going to kill you" is a terroristic threat and is an arrestable offense
Why don't officers ever realize that in order to box in a car they have to be closer than 10 ft to the cars bumper??
epic fail lmao i thought hed pull up like an inch from it or sideways ish
Because the person in the Car may be armed etc, to risky.
Nice!
I know this department. I live 10 miles away. They’ve had a hard time keeping officers staffed, so there’s a lot of guys without a whole lot of real world experience.

One thing I noticed immediately, no lights on the house. Turn all the lights on, patios etc don’t leave lights off. Turn on as many as you can safely. Helps the police see much better and relieves areas for someone to hide in
The real crime here is how did this guy make it to 47 without someone getting him the help he needed, and getting him away from people he threatened to hurt. That's absurd.
It's not that easy. A lot of times they won't take their medication. Also you know that our mental health system is awful. The parents probably tried to get him help without success. Please don't judge them ❤
It is a difficult disorder to treat. Many of the schizophrenic are non compliant with medication. I am sure family did all they could, but you cannot make people care for themselves. 😞
They had gotten him help. The brother said he wasn't taking his meds. Daymon was 47 years old. You can't make a 47-year-old man take medication.
There is no help for them
This is why you call mental health professionals, not men with guns who are itching to use them.
A bit odd Dad was left at home hanging out to dry? Mom seemed a little surprised when the cop suggested he too needed protection.
There is a longer version of this video out there with the mom's whole statement. She explains that Daymon was fixated on her for some reason and left the dad alone. She also mentioned that she had been sleeping in her car for weeks because she was afraid to sleep in the house. There is a fine line between helping your children and protecting yourself going on here and I think the parents knew that he was going to meet this end sooner or later.
@abbeyboyle8843 I really appreciate the information, thank you. It makes a lot more sense.
@@abbeyboyle8843 Jesus Christ thats horrifying
I'm not gonna lie I chucked a little bit when the officer told her to pick him up too and she says "Oh yeah.". It had the same vibes as if she forgot to water a plant. Lol

"Show me your fucking hands!"
"For what?"
"Because I fucking said so."

well said tbh
hardly close to a legal command. so if a cop says stand on your head cuz i said so, we have to?!?! never at any point did they say he was under arrest
@@rogerw-interested Also depending on the state it really is a felony not to obey an officer if they ask you to do something like step out of your vehicle, get on the ground, put your hands up, get in front of their patrol vehicle for a pat down, etc :D you can go to jail for that.
@@rogerw-interested After buzzing them with his car, they kinda had a right to detain him at the very least. But yes, they could have communicated it better.
@@rogerw-interested one doesn't have to be arrested before they are legally obligated to follow commands, and even if it wasn't considered a legal command it damn sure was good advice.
An unarmed man?! Did you miss the 4,000 lb vehicle he was driving?
Exactly what I was thinking. If a cop fell and he hit the gas, that cop would have gotten life altering injuries if not died from them. It's why some place will view a car as a suspect being armed as "assault with a deadly weapon" if they use their car to try and attack someone.
yeah at such a high speed of course.. what a weapon (sarcasm)
@@BenHatira Yeah, because vehicular manslaughter totally isn't a thing. (Sarcasm)
They never should have suspended! A dude runs a 3,000lb car towards you while high on meth and the equivalent of 20 shots deep - what else would you do
This is the life of a police officer…..dealing daily with the worst of society and seeing the worst scenes a human can see….having to make instant life and death decisions…..never sure this will be their last day alive…..many people hate cops…..yet these same people call cops for help if they find themselves in a bad situation. I can’t believe why anyone would want to be a cop in this country today…..it’s a dangerous job….in a dangerous environment….where you are expected to always make the right decision and no mistakes…..the pay is ok but not nearly as much as it should be for the extremely high risk factors. I’m glad we have them….
the brother was pissed about the whole situation
Imagine being held at gunpoint and told to show your hands, and you say "for what?" and "that's not a law" .... holy shit. Guy had a death wish.
i'm sure the family is relieved to finally be free. i understand its hard on mom, the child you love is now a man you fear, its always going to be hard to reconcile that. this was the best possible outcome for everyone. he is at peace from his demons, family can be at peace, and society is safe.
How do you know the family is relieved? Im sure the mother would have preferred that her son receive the necessary treatment and be alive rather than dead. I have no words to describe you horrible take on this situation. Dont you value human life? The son was SICK. He suffered from a mental disorder that can be treated with medication, love and support, not BULLETS.
@@desertstar223 The man was threatening to kill his mom and rammed a police car. I dare say he was asking for it.

Tragic, but you know a small hidden part of them is relieved.
His mom is a narcissist, and that son is a meth user. I didn't even have to watch the entire thing. Sad. That mother turned siblings against each other. I can tell. My mom was a psychopath, just like that lady pretending to be Innocent, yet she hasn't even gotten court orders to have him restrained. She is partially the reason, that is why I think the first officer told her there isn't anything arrestable

Imagine raising a child and this is how they end up
He was unhinged .. shouldn’t no one live in that type of fear..
A HS friend of mines older brother died suddenly died when we in 9th grade. He was like his brothers “mini me”. He idolized his brother. My friend took it extremely hard. The change in him was like flicking a light switch off. He was often suicidal. He became an alcoholic and was extremely difficult to be around. He was ultimately diagnosed with schizophrenia. Family finally had a good night sleep in ages that night
When it said he accelerated his car towards an officer, did he accelerate or was he literally going 3-5mph? In which case i wouldnt think an officer would be in danger.
The heading on this video says police shot an unarmed man. However, the man was armed. He was using the car as a deadly weapon against officers.
Yes, and he had both arms.
It's the so called media trying to cause issues for the police force.
I can imagine that while she is grieving she is also relieved.
When they told him to get out of the car and he just glared at them I knew he isn’t gonna go. He was in full on rage. He was gonna hurt anyone he could. The son that said “you better find him before I do.” Yes sir. Cop: “No crime is committed.” They wait for people to be killed before they do anything.
this literally has nothing to do with a parking incident. that's some shameless view grabbing behavior.
I feel for the family but my heart also breaks for the man suffering from schizophrenia. It’s a horrible illness and makes people into a shadows of themselves. So hard for both parties
Sometimes siblings need to check siblings. Nothing more natural in the universe.
While he won't be doing that again
Only on youtube, over and over and over for years to come.

I wouldn’t say that a BAC of 0.09 is “WELL above” the legal limit. It’s just a little over.
0.97%* was his autopsied BAC, about TWELVE times the legal limit.
0.097 is about 20% higher than 0.08, which is a significant percentage over the legal limit
So mom goes to police station by herself at night for fear of her life, while dad stays home????
Such a sad ending for everyone.
They fired at least 14 shots at him and only one hit him?
And DEATH THREATS arent a crime???
They aren't without proof. Haven't seen longer video if she showed police proof or not. But you cant just charge someone with something because someone else said you did something.
Shooting a moving target with a projectile the width of ur pinky finger is kinda difficult after all
That mother was probably wracked with guilt for years after.
Please hire a scriptwriter; this narration sounds like it was written by a child
👏🏻👏🏻problem solved. Now she can have peace.
Needless and predictable escalation... If I hear in the name of officer safety one more time...
You couldn't pay me enough to deal with stuff like this. As much as i have critiqued corruption and bad policing...i respect the job they have and understand how necessary it is.
He used his car as a weapon. He should have been in an institution, but I imagine he didn't want to or there weren't the resources for that.
Brother walks in: "ya interrupted my paintin'. Where's he at?"
Yooo ain’t gonna lie this ladies son (the not crazy one) is kind of a badass😭🤣 love that protective instinct too. “They better do something, before I find him”
he's a cutie
Now don't get me wrong because I have huge respect for police officers and the job they do but why didn't someone just pull in front of him so he couldn't drive away? They claim any vehicle is considered a weapon yet they allow this weapon to run wild instead of securing the situation. We have a few family members who are police officers and I love them dearly but neither have a lick of common sense. They go out each day risking their lives to save ours yet couldn't hit water if they fell out of my boat. Again, I have huge respect for what they do but someone with common sense needs to take control of these situations before innocent people start getting hurt. This drug problem mixed with mental illness is not getting any better so training must be done in order to keep our police officers safe.
the mom seems so sweet, i pray she finds peace🙏🏾
My brother is the same way. Kidnapped, tortured, restrained our mother for 9 hours, trying to get her to turn over all her assets to him since she was a notary. Once he found out hours later of telling him this (I wasn't there), and him calling notaries to verify this, he calmly untied our mother and then turned on the TV to watch Seinfeld as if nothing happened. She immediately ran screaming out of the house. He said he did nothing wrong, f"ing pyscho. He lives in Arizona
You called your son Daemon? XD
I love how everybody knows the law these days
These cops are stupid why didn’t they block him in they need more training
“So far no crimes have been committed”
How is threatening someone life not a crime? come on. Threatening someone's life is considered a criminal threat and can be charged as a misdemeanor or a felony.
These cops have no clue in de-escalation. being aggressive and running up to someone with schizophrenia AT NIGHT is a horrible idea. he may have made threats but he wasnt a threat before they showed up. they only made the whole situation worse.. as cops do
He wasn't a threat before the police showed up? You mean when he showed up to his parents house and threatened to murder them he wasn't be a threat? Seriously?
@@notmoose8670 People with mental illness have to be handled differently. Cops arent trained to handle those kinds of situations, they are barely trained in knowledge of laws and constitution these days.
