My son became addicted to meth and heroin for about 6 years. I had to move away to a different state where my other children lived because I kept enabling him by giving him a place to sleep. He finally decided that he couldn’t live that life anymore and we sent him to rehab again and he’s now a successful realtor and contractor. It was hell for the whole family to live through and even now after he’s been clean 5 years we marvel at how we got through it. We all live within a few miles of each other and get together for Sunday dinners. For our family it’s been a miracle. Even my own father said “He’ll never make it”. Sadly, he died before he got to see his grandson clean. After feeling hopeless for so many years we found hope. Please don’t give up on your loved one

Mental institutions were closed when big pharma came out with all their majik pills to cure Depression, Scizo, Bipolar, Personality Dis. Folks need long term inpatient care to get regulated on these meds if they're even diagnosed with the right thing in first place. The ones with PTSD & Anxiety need a good 3 months of daily talk therapy besides meds. And, if they get most of it right you still need patient compliance to take the meds. If none of this criteria is met folks will self medicate with drugs or alcohol or end up in prison or taking their life like my son did. It's disgusting that we allowed big pharm to wrap up their pills in pretty little packages & declare the problems solved as they closed the doors to every safe mental institution in this country. In the mean time our government lets in close to ten million aliens providing food, shelter, education...on & on while American parents watch their children drop like flies.

WOW, to Emmanuel Rocha & Richard Park...I agree with both of you and how you feel about this event or the consequences of a human being with very low "Brain Reserve".
Indeed is very difficult to deal with a person that has alcohol or drug dependency... Their reality is so true for them even we can reason it or understand.
From 2010 - 2018 I had the privilege to work as an interpreter (with the Court System) in a State Hospital (Mental Health / Baker Act)....I only went 2 days each month (Court Calendar) and learned so much about the human brain in a physical & spiritual. aspect. I was very glad I din"t choose to be a psychiatrist...it is very difficult to understand since each person has unique build up and "Brain Reserve levels" depend on many different factors.
You send 20 healthy guys from the Army to go overseas,...they engage in many different experiences as to battles, combat and more and 17 of them will cope with traumatic events but 3 of them will not... These is considering No Drugs, No alcohol...
Brain reserve develops while a human being is in the mother's womb until 4 years of age...and as we know not everybody has the. Blessing to have parents that pay attention to this or factors that will help to build a strong BRAIN RESERVE" which will be needed at later years to cope with tragic events and recover from it....
At a quantum level our human Brain has more connections then all the galaxies and constellations out in space 😅
That is a lot of wires in such small space (half of our head).
There is No IT qualified to d-tangle all those wires if they are not working properly or affected by chemical sustains.
There are smart, very intelligent people with high IQ but their BRAIN RESERVE isn't enough to handle all those wires.

I'd highly recommend on studying some esoteric stuff, it would help. Though if you studied quantum mechanics, you already were doing deep metaphysical stuff...
Once you start understanding the mystical aspect of reality, then these things become clearer. The sad thing about many scientific minds is that they demand empirical proof for the spiritual aspect of reality... there is a lot of blindness even in very smart people. I'm just saying this, not trying to offend or anything.

She has loving parents, one brother, and two sisters that have grown up to be wonderful young adults. I've been friends with the family for almost 30 years and have seen the toll it has taken on all of them. These are very good people I'm talking about. I don't know how or why her drug use started, but it's going to end soon. She's only 32 but she probably won't be around for her 35th birthday. It's sad watching a slow-motion suicide that can't be stopped. It's like a runaway train.

My daughter is addicted to meth. I have seen this exact scene play out many times. I was physically attacked several times, and hesitated to defend myself because I’m a retired police officer, and felt any physicality on my part would end with me being arrested. The last time I saw her, I woke up to several police cars outside my home at about 4 am. I rushed downstairs and as I approached the front door it was kicked open and 4 officers came running in. They looked as shocked as I must have looked. One officer said “Bev, are you ok?” (They had been there so many times we were on a first name basis.) I’m like, “yeah I’m fine. What’s going on?” In the middle of a psychotic break, brought on by her meth addiction, my daughter had ran to a neighbor’s and asked them to call 911 because I had just shot myself in the head. The officer told me he was sure my daughter had just murdered me. That was the final straw for me. She was arrested on a couple of warrants, and I went to court to get a psyche hold on her. She was there 96 hrs, and I had gotten an Order of Protection by then, so she wasn’t coming back to the house again. I haven’t seen or heard from her in almost 3 yrs.

What that man said at the end is profound and so true: "When you become a parent, your heart lives outside you. You can only be as happy as your least happy child." It so hard to figure kids out and what kind of help they need when they are younger like pre-teen and so then, this happens. So many parents are so hopeless when counselling does not help and there is no especially right medication for youngsters and experimenting with treatment is not helpful either. I hit the like for the Help Center at the end. Wow. So sad for all parents in this situation and for the cops that sometimes have to act as glorified babysitters.

I have lived this life. It’s very painful to watch your child be an addict. It’s really painful to kick them out and keep them out. For me,it was the right thing to do. My son ended up getting killed under the bridge where he lived by another addict. I don’t feel guilt about not letting him live with us. I had peace in my home, wasn’t a party to his criminal addict lifestyle, and most important of all, he knew if he ever wanted to live a clean and sober life he would always have a clean, decent, home with people who, would love and support him. I would help him do important things like get a license, get glasses, help him with rides to NA, court, a job. I did what’s right but it was very hard. Not all parents are capable of this and they ruin the peace of everyone else in the family and that not fair. Have pity on those folks.

The heartache here is beyond words. When as a parent can you give up. The months can turn into years and your battle seems never ending and wears you away slice by slice inside every day. Can you eventually detest and give up on that beautiful baby you once held in your arms and swore to protect with your dying breath and is now ripping the whole family apart, or do you carry on enduring ?... We got lucky with our son and it was just 3years of hell we went through. The was times I wanted so much to give up on him as I was just worn out mentally and physically, and in all honesty I had lost all hope. That was 7 yrs ago and even now I watch how far he has come and how far away his previous life is I cannot but help from going off somewhere quiet and letting a tear or two in relief pour out. It's easy to judge others, until it happens to you. I can only guess what those parents have been through. Please do not judge them harshly.

(I am doing My work throughout the universe, and in the East, there is no end to the exterior of the thundering bangs, shaking all sects and sects. I will summon all people who are overcome by My voice, to fall into this stream, and submit to My presence, because I long ago withdrew My glory from the whole world and brought it out anew in the East. Who does not anxiously await My return? Who does not thirst for My reappearance? Who will not look at Him believer of Canaan? Who does not long for the return of the Savior? My voice will spread throughout the world; I want to face the people I have chosen, to speak more words to them. Like a new-born baby, everyone is happy and rejoicing, celebrating the arrival. By My voice I will bring all people before Me. By the glory that I shine and the words in My mouth, I will make it so that all people will come before Me and see the Lightning flash from the East, and I will also come down on the "Mountain of Olive" of the East. Let all come before My throne and see My glorious face, hear My voice and see My works. Let every nation worship Me, let every tongue know Me, let everyone keep faith in Me, and let everyone submit to Me!)

LIKE MIGHTY THUNDERS that SHAKE MOUNTAINS and RIVERS, I SPEAK My WORDS to the ENTIRE UNIVERSE and to HUMANITY. That is why the WORDS of My MOUTH become the WEALTH of PEOPLE, and ALL people LOVE My WORDS. LIGHTNING FLASHES from the EAST CONTINUOUSLY to the WEST. My WORDS are such that MAN REFUSES to GIVE them up and at the same time finds them unfathomable, but extols them, all the more. Like a new-Born BABY, ALL PEOPLE are HAPPY and JOYFUL, CELEBRATING the ARRIVAL. THROUGH My VOICE I will bring ALL people BEFORE Me. 🙏☀️
From there, I will FORMALLY ENTER HUMANITY so they will COME CLOSE to WORSHIP Me. By the GLORY that I SHINE and the WORDS in My MOUTH, I will MAKE it so that ALL people COME CLOSE before Me and SEE the LIGHTNING FLASHING from the EAST, and that I have also DESCENT in " Mount of Olives" of the EAST. 🙏
They will SEE that I have been on EARTH for a LONG TIME, no longer as the SON of the JEWS but as the LIGHTNING of the EAST. Because I have long since risen again, and departed from the midst of mankind, and APPEARED again AMONG PEOPLE with GLORY. I have WORSHIPED Him for countless AGES before, and I am also the "baby" that the ISRAELITES REJECTED for countless ages before. When someone is as far gone as 'Chloe' seems to be, once they've fixated on a 'host' to at least keep them going in some way, they will FIND ways to force them to comply, especially the parents. Standing out in the street in front of their house screaming for hours, for example; or splashing around in the edge of the lake and waving furiously at the hapless person on the other side who doesn't even want to come out to enjoy the lakeside any more, because they don't know just how crazy this wild-haired & wild-eyed person over there IS! The reality is, usually, that a LOT more people's lives are unacceptably disrupted by this kind of self-imposed madness.

I have an adult child with mental illness. It’s very difficult watching one of your adult children spiral out of control.
I live each day never knowing what will happen.
My son is so intelligent and is trying to get his degree, but we also live with extremes, days that go from bad to worse, and a lot of uncertainty.
There are not enough resources for adults with mental illness, unless you have the financial means.
You can thank President Reagan for that.
If you have an adult child with mental illness, I can relate and I hate hearing all the nasty things said by people.
    “Just let him go.”
“You’re enabling him by letting him live with you.”
    “Can’t you get him help?”
As if we haven’t tried. And no, I won’t let him go or kick him out. He’s not a renter. He’s my child and I’ll do all I can within my power and means to help him.
I feel for Chloe and her parents. I know very well what it’s like to have your child do things like you see in this video. And yes, sometimes I get really angry, but I remember my son is sick.
To anyone suffering, I wish you all the best.

Sounds like you are doing as well as you can.
When I was watching this vid, I thought it was mental illness only, then there was lots of talk of drugs and history, but I was nearly certain it was a mental concern. As I've seen this before.
Since your son is an adult you must already know every calming technique, medicine or activity that you have learned about over the years.
Generally assigned social workers (so yourself too) will take the child/adult out on day trips. If they get out of the car of course.
I wonder if a pet would help? (small pet).
Its just constant routines and setting goals for upcoming (possibly weekly) events.
It all depends upon how mobile and somewhat able they are.
Beaches, forests, parks, possibly city walks and discoveries - I'm sure you've done them all.
Drawing, writing, puzzles, maybe even making little things? Helping with house duties and empowering - the fact is if you already know everything and even modern psychology for you to cope, then .. pretty much that's it. The only other option is joining disability groups where maybe he could find a girlfriend? Worth a go too.

There isn't enough help and it's only getting worse. I live in the same fear but as the mentally ill daughter. I'm sorry for you and your child who suffers with the same. @@moregravity033 Prayers work at the same level as chance or guesses!
Plus we don't have any reason to believe in your God or any other.
What helps with known mental conditions is (and this is beginning with utmost importance).
      1. Stop praying! Ideally try to seek help from stopping you wasting your time! I do help theists (you are likely a Christian no doubt). Begin by asking questions, as the truth should not fear inquiry, and you shouldn't fear man made monsters!
      2. Science such as Psychology DOES help. I sensed the OP has this, I sense you don't. Modern psychology will help you cope and likely help your daughter, actually I'm sure it will.
      3. Went over routines and activities already, but probably a good thing for you to understand is hell and your God and begging this God!! Likely even your daughter knows that's not working, really time to recover. Fix yourself before trying to guide others, will help you a lot.
Just shocking what you said, annoying really.
