Eluding involves the willful evasion or fleeing from law enforcement trying to detain you. I think it's safe to say that a guy who didn't even realize his car was on fire also was not aware that the police were behind him. If you genuinely can argue that you didn't realize they were after you, the won't get the charge to stick. Which is why, is you are ever dumb enough to flee, and don't want to face the consequences, insist that you didn't know they were there. Or at least don't admit that you did. For others who deal with burning cars, some of the early pops are the windows. Yes, car windows pop when the are burned, it’s the inner stresses in the glass bursting. The larger booms are the tires increasing in pressure from the heat and finally exploding. Unless there are pressure tanks in the vehicle, with faulty pressure relief valves, it is very unlikely for there to be an actual explosion. The gas is already on fire, as that is what was ignited, probably after some hot metal penetrated the gas tank, so no vapors to suddenly detonate. And since the gas tank itself has already been punctured it can not build any pressure up to explode. So the officer that was worried about flying metal, was fairly incorrect, as an average car fire, will not explode, like the ones in movies do, since they have some explosives in them, and your average driver usually does not. Though it is always good to be safe and keep distance from a burning vehicle, simply due to the toxic fumes of the burning plastics. Keep safe out there, and these officers, beyond believing a few myths, did a great job.
For his jacket not to carbonize enough to catch fire was amazing! It was like an angel had its wings between his nylon jacket and the flames. Great job officers!

cops were rude as hell to that guy for no reason. he is old and hardly mobile and they are shoving him around and talking to him like he just killed someone.
the explosions are likely the tires, remember heat goes up and the tires are at the very bottom. there were only 3 explosions and he was missing 1 tire so it adds up. it also didnt sound like a flammable explosion, it sounded like something under pressure like when a tire or inner tube pops. also tires get really hot when driving so they are meant to take extreme heat for a while and tires on most cars can take over 100psi without bursting so if the tires were taking forever to heat up like you would expect that would also explain the amount of time before the explosions as the fire spread.
Something similar happened to my grandfather. He was 86 and definitely shouldnt have been driving a Lincoln town car. (Or anything). But he rammed into a brand new car in a parking lot at low speeds. He couldnt feel his feet any longer and had beginnings of dementia. Understandably the other driver was upset, but we either have to re certify in increments or watch the elderly. Because im sure this happens often
Nobody at age 86 should drive. Humans were never meant to live so long and too much can and does go wrong. Just use the public transport for everyone's safety. If you get older, you have to accept that you can't do all the things you once did.
@@DieEineMieze easier said than done. That is basically giving up every freedom and resigning to needing a caretaker. It's pretty sad and life ending for a lot of people.
@@TrunkyDunks Not every freedom. Only ones the ones that endanger other people and yourself If they have to be taken care of, they most likely aren't fit to drive anyways. Getting older and accepting you can't do the same things you once did is a sad but important part of getting old. You can't let your pride get in the way of that. There's no shame in accepting that, so them and their community don't suffer a horrible fate. He thought he died and was/went to hell.
It's people like this old man who can't pay attention is why we have such unsafe roadways
Yup, and old farts like him are driving everywhere everday!
Old people can be completely clueless.
@@AdamBorsetiso can young people.
Most memorable slice of pizza, EVER!
Grampa engaged the hyperdrive around 00:36
And said,
Fvkk you punk, your ain't taking me alive!!! Bahahah 😂😆 l🤣
When only your left rear wheel hits 88mph…
What a cop pulling the old guy out immediately of the burning car. If he were a few seconds later he would've probably been dead!
Old man rescued himself. Brave dude well done
So glad the officer was there to witness the sparks or this would be turned out much much worse!
Those are the tires popping. When my beater caught fire, the tires sounded just like it.
Gives a new meaning to “money to burn”. Haha. 🔥
"I had a flat tire, but I thought I could make it home" That's a man right there haha
"back in my day we'd drive em till the wheels fall off"
Now that was a great video. I'm so glad no one was hurt. All they needed was marsmallows to follow the pizza.
Really gotta commend these officers. They did a great job 👏
It's an absolute miracle this guy survived
Nothing more wholesome than a cop eating his puff crust pizza after saving an old guy
0:36 84 years old, leaves track marks on the road... Dr. Emmett Brown, is that you!?!?
Great job boys....have some pizza....medal to the man that pulled him out right before he would have been a well done steak.
My dad is 82 he still strong like an Ox but he drives erratically we went through hell and back, until we just had to make the car disappear.
Running towards the danger. Well done, officers. Well done.
They try to be rude, but the fact that he laughed and they started eating pizza
Car is engulfed in flames
Old man: what seems to be the problem officer?
when Ghostrider settles down and has a family 😆
LMFFAO!!!!!!!!!!!! 😮
I love the talking with your mouth full. 9:31
the explosions are likely the tires, remember heat goes up and the tires are at the very bottom. there were only 3 explosions and he was missing 1 tire so it adds up. it also didnt sound like a flammable explosion, it sounded like something under pressure like when a tire or inner tube pops. also tires get really hot when driving so they are meant to take extreme heat for a while and tires on most cars can take over 100psi without bursting so if the tires were taking forever to heat up like you would expect that would also explain the amount of time before the explosions as the fire spread.
100 psi?im done
yes. if you think otherwise you clearly don't have much experience with tires.@@litalitvinaite
@@litalitvinaitenever tried it?
Ahh pizza in front of a flaming, exploding car. Nothing hits best like that.
They didn’t even offer him a slice?😂what a shame 😂😂😂
Serve and Protect! These boys and girls can go home knowing they made an awesome difference. Good On Ya's!
That was intense! So glad the old man was okay! I was on the edge of my seat. Sheesh
loved eerything in this video, cops cool, old man cool, fireworks pizzas, sodas. what a party
This man needs to immediately go play the lottery lmao his luck was amazing
poor grandpa. he was soooo lucky police was nearby!
Driver not suspected of any wrongdoing. Just being a human. OMG, people what is wrong with you?
Only ones the ones that endanger other people and yourself
If they have to be taken care of, they most likely aren't fit to drive anyways. Getting older and accepting you can't do the same things you once did is a sad but important part of getting old.
You can't let your pride get in the way of that.
There's no shame in accepting that, so them and their community don't suffer a horrible fate.
Living a good and honest life just to kill someone because you were too proud it stubborn to accept you should have driven a car anymore is not exactly how people want their life to end.
At least make regular tests mandatory.
God Love the boys for saving grandpa.
Well done everyone! Quick thinking and action. Very brave to approach and pull the driver away!
Those officers can go home feeling good about themselves. You saved someone’s life. God will remember that one day. Well done guys!!!!!
I love how that one guy with the pizza was just chillin at the end 😂
His money fell
Out as soon as the cops grabbed him. It’s 3 feet away from the van.
That old codger got out, in the middle of flames, and about to hitch his pants up calmly before the officers grabbed him from the fire and yanked on him! He didn’t give 2 💩‘s what was going on! He acts and looks like he’s been through worse in his life! I love tough old men like this dude!
Just don't ask him about the war. He'll talk for hours.
It was shock. It's a thing. Your mind can go blank. Especially when you're old, reflexes slowed way down.
