  • Since we are an organic farm, and spraying trees doesn't make a lot of sense to us, we use the time tested method of pulling the caterpillars off by hand! It's easy and can be done in short order, if you catch them soon enough. If you don't then BT is our best bet to controlling any caterpillar.
Thanks for watching our videos! If you want to visit our farm and stay in the b&b, go to www.millgapfarms.com. We also have Virginia’s only USDA Organic Maple Syrup available for you to enjoy too!
Our videos are for entertainment purposes only. Do not try any stunts like these unless you have your own channel and plenty of insurance. No animals were harmed in the making of these videos, except for maybe Kevin. #maplesyrup #makingmaplesyrup #farming #maplefarm

Didn’t know your entire farm was certified organic. Cool. Caterpillars in the apple tree, no fun.

Fuzzy ones? The kind that are found on cherry and apple trees. Thankfully they are all gone. I didn't even think of giving them to the chickens. I wanted them off the farm. Next time I'll give that a go. Thanks for watching! Kevin
