Stingers have very bad lag. Computers get in the way I think. Easily fixed with a piggy back computer like a JB4 and I think it would be a much fairer race then.
Who rents out a track and then doesn’t time the cars? No dragy results or times at all? This test was pointless. What a waste of a great opportunity to show how fast these cars are even if one driver didn’t react as fast. Put a dragy in each car next time and actually measure their 0-60 mph times and 1/4 mile times.

Given the Kia drivers delayed reaction time, that’s still very impressive for a stock Kia. The Sportback is a serious vehicle to contend with. With AWD and some modifications the stinger would definitely have a better chance at holding its own.
I've never seen this dude get a good run in a Stinger. I have a Genesis G70 (same platform) w/ basic mods and tune making 476awhp. Still the cheapest performance bang for your buck.
@@PatC1 yeah its crazy, literally with 1k in mods to the stinger you can gain an extra 75 - 100WHP and 150 torque to the wheels which you would think with proper launch (spooling the turbo instead of the non-spool and launch delay this guy does) it should win the race. Stingers always seem to usually punch up a weight class as far as when you compare HP/Torque to what the stinger has. Although, its hard to believe with the RS5 hp/torque and weight that it has a 0-60 of 3.6 as they state.

@Catholic Firefighter I raced my buddies 2020 s5 bone stock highway pulls. I left him pretty bad. I know what the numbers say, but real world performance much different in my experience. Scat packs do quarter mile times in 12.4s and 12.6 stock and I used to beat them by 2 cars bone stock. The stinger stock is a 12.9-13.2 stock car.If your going by quoted numbers. No way it should beat a scat, but it does.. However I agree with your comment by the numbers.

I own a Stinger, and also love the RS5. I'm not surprised that the RS5 is taking the lead by 3 cars length: dual clutch, more horse power, and all wheel drive 😆👌 price in Australia is 3x more than the Stinger tho - 1/3 goes to luxury car tax 😒 that's why the cars here are more expensive.
The Audi fan in me isn't surprised at all here. RS cars are a pure joy to drive. RS5 = 444hp, 0-60 in 4.0 secs while the Stinger = 36, 0-60 in 4.7 secs. Audi Power! However, with a jb4 and some very simple bolt-on mods, the Stinger will easily beat the RS5. I don't like comparing a modded car to a stock one, but considering the Stinger would still cost 30K less with all that, I say the Stinger wins value-wise even after all the mods.

To give this test integrity you needed to swap the drivers into the opposing car and do the same test. Obviously the Audi is double the price and has bigger specs, but the guy driving in the KIA looks slow to react and looks doughy, dense and doushy! It may be the KIA drivers lack of timing, skills and hefty weight that give the Audi a bigger boost!
well they aren't racing just wait for go sign and mash gas pedal it's not rocket science, no change of gears, no watching RPM.. just mash and go. I could do it with my eyes closed literally, because I would set the highway driving assist don't even have to steer! Now if you truly want a DRIVER then let's change the rules ONLY manual no auto that would eliminate the drive mode selection, but that dense, doushy pillsbury dough boy would have no clue to how drive at all.. that much is clear, so he is using his right foot as best he can.
Just a suggestion, but try honking to start the race. It’s much more coordinated! 1st person honks, then the other honks, then when the first person honks again, you both go. Hope this helps.

The point is the price and the stinger wasn't too far behind that Audi so it is just showing you that the car actually can kind of keep up with that better hp engine at a way lower price a couple mods and you have an affordable car that can go even in the snow
If the stinger had done any better you would really need to question the additional 50k in value for the RS. I think this is a perfect representation of both cars.
The price of a car is not just for the drive train. The RS5 is also a very nice luxury ride. In 'comfort mode' it is smooth and quiet. Hit the RS mode with all sport settings and it is transformed into a totally different experience.
Wait what was the point of this drag race when youre comparing Stinger to RS5 which is in a whole other horse power and Price class? Why not an S5 or TLX or IS350 which compare to the Stinger?

Not sure where you guys are getting your specs from but the awd stinger weighs a hair over 4K lbs. The awd system adds 200 lbs give or take so with that said, you guys likely put in specs for the rwd version.

You can get a 2019 Stinger GT for about $35,000 and it’s about as powerful as the new one with similar features. I’d say it’s a steal for what it is.

RS5 is not a DCT. It's an automatic. Audi does not have a DCT that can survive the torque of the 2.9V6 twin turbo.

Yes but it wouldn’t have mattered. Even with a perfect launch every time and the head start he got once, the Audi still would and did beat it.

I raced a modified tuned stinger gt2 last night with my Audi S4 B9 and stinger was struggling to keep up
I think the race to make would be the S5 instead, they are almost identical power levels
450hp vs 370 hp
Stinger = s5 (○)
Stinger = rs5 (x)

If the stinger had done any better you would really need to question the additional 50k in value for the RS. I think this is a perfect representation of both cars.
The price of a car is not just for the drive train. The RS5 is also a very nice luxury ride. In 'comfort mode' it is smooth and quiet. Hit the RS mode with all sport settings and it is transformed into a totally different experience.

Wait what was the point of this drag race when youre comparing Stinger to RS5 which is in a whole other horse power and Price class? Why not an S5 or TLX or IS350 which compare to the Stinger?

Yep... The kia does have a bit more hp yet the transmission on the Audi is definitely better with a quicker 0-60 despite having a few less hp

A good simple tune on the stinger would make it a interesting race.
no kidding, 1k in mods and youre getting around 400WHP and closing in on 500 to 550 torque on simple E30.
The Audi has almost 100 hp advantage and they weigh pretty much the same!🤔

This v6 stinger msrp is $51k. The a5 sportback msrp is $43k

@@dman5849 Yes, true. But some people get the options to make the car nicer; not faster. And both the A4 and S 3 will be notably more expensive than the Stinger, just as the A5 is.

Not sure where you guys are getting your specs from but the awd stinger weighs a hair over 4K lbs. The awd system adds 200 lbs give or take so with that said, you guys likely put in specs for the rwd version.

I just looked at a Kia Stinger turn a 10.99 with stock turbos, but lots of other things done. Still 40 grand under the RS. There is plenty of meat on the bone, with the Stinger power band
