Stingers have very bad lag. Computers get in the way I think. Easily fixed with a piggy back computer like a JB4 and I think it would be a much fairer race then.
Who rents out a track and then doesn’t time the cars? No dragy results or times at all? This test was pointless. What a waste of a great opportunity to show how fast these cars are even if one driver didn’t react as fast. Put a dragy in each car next time and actually measure their 0-60 mph times and 1/4 mile times.

Given the Kia drivers delayed reaction time, that’s still very impressive for a stock Kia. The Sportback is a serious vehicle to contend with. With AWD and some modifications the stinger would definitely have a better chance at holding its own.
I've never seen this dude get a good run in a Stinger. I have a Genesis G70 (same platform) w/ basic mods and tune making 476awhp. Still the cheapest performance bang for your buck.
@@PatC1 yeah its crazy, literally with 1k in mods to the stinger you can gain an extra 75 - 100WHP and 150 torque to the wheels which you would think with proper launch (spooling the turbo instead of the non-spool and launch delay this guy does) it should win the race. Stingers always seem to usually punch up a weight class as far as when you compare HP/Torque to what the stinger has. Although, its hard to believe with the RS5 hp/torque and weight that it has a 0-60 of 3.6 as they state.

For everyone criticizing the KIA drivers reaction time, it isn’t his fault the Audi’s Quattro AWD system is nothing to mess with especially from a standstill.
If the stinger had done any better you would really need to question the additional 50k in value for the RS. I think this is a perfect representation of both cars.
The price of a car is not just for the drive train. The RS5 is also a very nice luxury ride. In 'comfort mode' it is smooth and quiet. Hit the RS mode with all sport settings and it is transformed into a totally different experience.
I own a Stinger, and also love the RS5. I'm not surprised that the RS5 is taking the lead by 3 cars length: dual clutch, more horse power, and all wheel drive 😆👌 price in Australia is 3x more than the Stinger tho - 1/3 goes to luxury car tax 😒 that's why the cars here are more expensive.

@Catholic Firefighter I raced my buddies 2020 s5 bone stock highway pulls. I left him pretty bad. I know what the numbers say, but real world performance much different in my experience. Scat packs do quarter mile times in 12.4s and 12.6 stock and I used to beat them by 2 cars bone stock. The stinger stock is a 12.9-13.2 stock car.If your going by quoted numbers. No way it should beat a scat, but it does.. However I agree with your comment by the numbers.

To give this test integrity you needed to swap the drivers into the opposing car and do the same test. Obviously the Audi is double the price and has bigger specs, but the guy driving in the KIA looks slow to react and looks doughy, dense and doushy! It may be the KIA drivers lack of timing, skills and hefty weight that give the Audi a bigger boost!

3 cars length is short for Gaaaappppplebees. On a constructive criticism note ( I appreciate the efforts to bring us everyday cars) 1. Better camera angles ( e.g. turn the cam on the RS5 towards the back to so we the audience can see the Stingers pain) 2. I may be wrong, but if there are mods to the car - (tune, wheels/tires, bolt ons) account for them in the video as they make large difference especially on FI cars. 3. Cool down between runs. Heat soak is a huge issue for FI engines especially after runs and the car left idling. Boost air Temps will change things drastically as some cars just have better cooling abilities that other. But keep the videos coming. 👊

For half the price, Stinger won in many ways that point A to B. Autos depreciate much and with a tune injectors and intercooler it will hold its own. Remember it’s a Kia

You will google RS5.. and get some Kia hits.. so people that can't afford Audi will think 'hey Kia has a Stinger.. it's close to performance'.. but we know the truth.
Huge downfall as a Kia owner myself is that the launch control is set to 1800rpms, which is low in comparison to most other awd launch capable cars. Now imagine being able to launch at 3000 rpm.
@@fs5866 unfortunately, you cannot in the stinger. Some vehicles do allow you to set your rpms within a certain range, but not the stinger, sadly. You cannot however do a brake snip mod which will allow you to brake boost.

RS5 is not a DCT. It's an automatic. Audi does not have a DCT that can survive the torque of the 2.9V6 twin turbo.

To give this test integrity you needed to swap the drivers into the opposing car and do the same test. Obviously the Audi is double the price and has bigger specs, but the guy driving in the KIA looks slow to react and looks doughy, dense and doushy! It may be the KIA drivers lack of timing, skills and hefty weight that give the Audi a bigger boost!
well they aren't racing just wait for go sign and mash gas pedal it's not rocket science, no change of gears, no watching RPM.. just mash and go. I could do it with my eyes closed literally, because I would set the highway driving assist don't even have to steer! Now if you truly want a DRIVER then let's change the rules ONLY manual no auto that would eliminate the drive mode selection, but that dense, doushy pillsbury dough boy would have no clue to how drive at all.. that much is clear, so he is using his right foot as best he can.

How about trying the A5 sportback VS the Stinger GT? The Kia is still cheaper and would wipe the floor up with the Audi.
This v6 stinger msrp is $51k. The a5 sportback msrp is $43k

I just looked at a Kia Stinger turn a 10.99 with stock turbos, but lots of other things done. Still 40 grand under the RS. There is plenty of meat on the bone, with the Stinger power band

no kidding, 1k in mods and youre getting around 400WHP and closing in on 500 to 550 torque on simple E30.

On a constructive criticism note ( I appreciate the efforts to bring us everyday cars)
1. Better camera angles ( e.g. turn the cam on the RS5 towards the back to so we the audience can see the Stingers pain)
2. I may be wrong, but if there are mods to the car - (tune, wheels/tires, bolt ons) account for them in the video as they make large difference especially on FI cars.
3. Cool down between runs. Heat soak is a huge issue for FI engines especially after runs and the car left idling. Boost air Temps will change things drastically as some cars just have better cooling abilities that other.
But keep the videos coming. 👊

For half the price, Stinger won in many ways that point A to B. Autos depreciate much and with a tune injectors and intercooler it will hold its own. Remember it’s a Kia

probably a Kia promotional video they chose the RS5 to advertise.. not really to make it close. They say no such thing as bad press.. You will google RS5.. and get some Kia hits.. so people that can't afford Audi will think 'hey Kia has a Stinger.. it's close to performance'.. but we know the truth.

Huge downfall as a Kia owner myself is that the launch control is set to 1800rpms, which is low in comparison to most other awd launch capable cars. Now imagine being able to launch at 3000 rpm.
as far as i know you can set the rpm you want for a launch control
@@fs5866 unfortunately, you cannot in the stinger. Some vehicles do allow you to set your rpms within a certain range, but not the stinger, sadly. You cannot however do a brake snip mod which will allow you to brake boost.
Are the stinger a pre owned bargain in today's market ?

@@DMCarReviews brother i have an audi yes it does. Rs5’s dont have launch control its just foot on the brake and build boost and let go of brake. So yes u can launch in normal mode.

Stinger lauches better using the e brake because it allows the boost to build. Knocks 3 to 4 tenths of a sec of the 0-60 time.
