Levi bringing up politics was a big mistake. A lot of people just dislike the movie, politics aside. If he wanted to talk about Stat Wars, he should have stuck to the baseline.
I don't get why ppl keep saying this. I don't think he was actually bringing up politics as if politics had anything to do with the topic at hand. He was using politics to demonstrate his logic, which applies in all areas of life, whether it be politics, entertainment, business, etc. And that is that people at the top are typically held to a higher standard. Just because he chose politics to point that logic out doesn't mean he was actually making the topic political. So when Theory says "I don't care about American politics", that doesn't make sense to me. You don't have to care about American politics to understand the very basic underlying principle that Levi is talking about, a point which is actually, at it's core, unrelated to politics. Don't get me wrong, kid brought up the topic at the wrong place, wrong time, so Theory had a right to be miffed. I don't think Levi meant harm, and he seems like a good kid. Things just happen sometimes.
But point being, idk why simply uttering the word "politics" sets something off in people's heads, and they automatically get triggered.
Levi could have said, "in the business community, the people at the top are looked to to set an example and are held to a higher standard", and the point would have been exactly the same. No one would have yelped about, "don't bring business into this bro"

The point is, all the kid was saying is that he believes all star wars youtubers, not just Theory, should be more careful with their language, because communication is key, and sometimes phrasing things a little differently goes a long way to preventing others from misinterpreting things or getting mad about it. Not changing your opinion, just phrasing your opinion better. That's not censorship, that's communication.

What Levi was suggesting Theory do is self-censor. Censorship is political. Censorship is the domain of the "woke" left trying to control how people think and act. "Political Correctness" is a disease.
First of all, Theory's not an American, and isn't going to be swayed by an argument that is built around American politics. Second, he specifically doesn't buy into the "woke" politics of the American left.
Third, it's your's and Levi's *opinion* that Theory was giving an opinion when he spoke about TLJ. What he actually stated is factually accurate: that TLJ was a bad Star Wars film.

It's simple really, Theory invites smaller channels to talk about Star Wars, gain a boost and get their channels known to more people, but one of the invited people starts talking about having problems with Theory's channel, i'd get pissed off too, i don't respect that, neither does Theory.
I would have reacted differently, probably not with as much heat as Theory did but i would have defended myself nonetheless, Theory defended himself as he had the right to do so, or am i mistaken?

Sequels are terrible, and are non canon... but star wars has always been political.

I’m sorry Star Wars is my Favorite IP of all time I own the Films in 4K, own the entire Clone Wars and Rebels on Blu-Ray, own almost every Video Game. But it is getting ridiculous of how serious people take it now. They act like this stuff is happening in real life. I can’t stand The Last Jedi. But guess what I watched it didn’t like it and moved in with my life!!
I think what's happened lately is that Mando S2 showed many people content that they could get behind, when they had problems with the sequels, and that has created a sense of frustration. Now people who enjoyed the sequels are looking for people to blame that Mando has overshadowed the sequels, and the future content appears to be focused on the Mando era (and frankly it seems Isaac, Boyega and Driver don't want to do any more SW, either).
They want to claim that SWT and similar channels are responsible for the backlash, when people are free to take or leave SWT's content and opinions. This is SWT's job, too. Of course he wants to defend himself - whether he goes too far or not is up to each individual's take on the situation. Remember around Xmas the channel was all about the positivity over Mando S2 and what was coming next.
It was Pablo's comment and the Carano situation that opened up the media to complaining about fans again on the pretext of 2018.

Levi didn’t ruin it. Theory ruined it. Levi apologized and backed down repeatedly and Theory would not let it go. It doesn’t matter if he was truly sorry. He handled it much better and more maturely, tried to undo his mistake, and Theory was having none of it. It could have been over in 2 seconds but Theory kept it going on and on.

Rather calm when he’s dropping f bombs on a kid who didn’t deserve it at all? Now I’ll preface this with the fact that I didn’t watch this stream so I don’t know the context or bigger picture. I’m open to correction. But the kid didn’t seem malicious or anything. He actually probably knew he was going to get chewed out for what he wanted to say, but he said it. So then SWT berates him on doing exactly what he claims to defend? The guy says “don’t come here telling me to change my channel because I’ll say what I want”, in effect telling that kid HE can’t say what HE wants? What hypocrisy. The kid CAN say what he wants. SWT DOESN’T have to agree. He can talk about how he pulled himself up by his bootstraps and worked hard to get where he is, but where he is is the public eye. He should know he’ll have clashing opinions with people and he needs to handle it more maturely than that. Star Wars fans in general seem to be so anally retentive and close minded these days, coming from a Star Wars fan. I feel for the kid - again I didn’t see how he expressed himself and it’s possible he could have done it better, but even now I’m sure of two things: that he didn’t disrespect or degrade SWT as a person, and that he probably knew he was going to receive backlash for saying whatever he wanted to say and did it anyway. You don’t have to be right to be brave. In my eyes this kid had some measure of courage just for doing that and SWT got to show his true colors as a bit of a bully. He’s expressed before how he’s been bullied before, and now he holds a lot of influence in the community. I firmly believe SWT is a decent person, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to think he might have skewed habits from his personal life that don’t translate well in the public eye. If you can’t handle the heat get out of the kitchen man, don’t start tossing expletives at young kids who are still developing on their own. How embarrassing. He’s like the car driver trying to shove the bicyclist off the road in this video in my view.

Theory never said he couldn’t lodge complaints, he said he shouldn’t use his own audience to force him to concede to him. He could always lodge a complaint privately or at the proper place, and in fact Theory will host things where he asks for criticism so he can improve. And of course, I doubt Levi meant to be offensive in any way (which is a bit ironic since he found Theory’s opinion offensive), but the way he did this was morally backwards and illogical. You don’t walk into a party where the host has invited you, only to then talk about how the host needs to change how he behaves or portrays himself.
And of course the kid was brave to voice his opinion like that, and if he wants to give his opinions I’ll respect that, I don’t mind him liking TLJ. But you don’t do that in a place or time like this, it’s wrong and disrespectful to the host.
Now yes, Theory has a huge fan base and with that a responsibility to represent them. But he shouldn’t have to muzzle his complaints about a movie he didn’t like because someone else didn’t like it. If they dislike it, go ahead and skip the video he uploaded and wait for the next. You aren’t required, and never will you, like everything someone says or does. He continues to act as he always has, being honest to his fans, and that’s how he grew in the past and that’s what they subscribed to.
Generally speaking, Theory is right. But after he made his initial point that he shouldn't have to act a certain way on TH-cam because of his platform, just leave it. People watched the stream for other reasons, not for a petty back and forth.

If you say that there’s new scientific 'facts' or new 'evidence', you’re technically lying and are also likely believing everything that the media tells you. All of science is theories, you see, and you can only add to or detract from those theories. Nothing in science is 'certain'. You can perform an experiment one day, and perform the exact experiment another day, and it could be a completely different outcome for both. For example, we could discover randomly that Electricity reacts to, say, Plastic, in a different way than what we previously though, however, this would create a new theory. It would not simply be 'fact'. The more evidence your theory has, the more people should believe in it. Tl;dr: Theory is right, but I wouldn’t agree with your explanation on why he's right.

@@razor6827 So basically the story is is that on a live stream in regards to Mollie Damon during a live stream he lied and told the entire stream that Star Wars Explained’s wife Mollie tweeted a laughing gif at a video of him when he cried to the Luke scene in the final episode of mandalorian. It turns out that the video wasn’t of him crying to the Luke but it was an edited video of him crying to a scene from Rebels. But Theory lied and said that it was him crying to Luke but that wasn’t the case. Due to that people sent out hate towards both of them and now I feel like because of that now the channel is not doing as well as it was before hand.
In regards to Eckardt’s ladder, this is when the whole Pablo hidalgo situation happened with him and theory. Ekardt had a different opinion on the whole matter in theory decided to take that and go at him for it and in doing so it allowed for theory’s fans to send death threats to him and his family and his children. Theory did not apologize for doing so even if he wasn’t the one who told them to send death threats. So when people say the theory is this perfect person and that he’s the best person that I’ve ever met you might wanna think twice.

He’s simply saying that it’s fine to have different opinions but there are nicer ways to express those opinions and by having a huge platform there will be supporters and people in the comments who ride the wave of that channel owners harsh expression of that opinion. Everything Levi said after theory exploded was a defense mechanism because he knew there was no getting through to him.
