Bro really made a whole interpretation off of the word “no”. Feels like my English classes where the teacher analyzes one word and makes a whole story about what it can mean 😂
Well the whole actors strike was about such matters so fresh in actors minds atm. One aspect about was about who gets paid if others are using a known actors image for their own monetary gain. I’m not sure if Hamill knew whether it was monetised or not.
Ive been lucky enough to meet mark hamill briefly at a con, I was a kid and didnt have a ticket to see anyone at the autograph booths area. I was dressed up like luke skywalker and mark saw me from afar and smiled and waved at me and did a funny face. Its now 15+ years later and ill still never forget that moment. I dont think Mark would ever intentionally try to hurt your feelings here, especially with how passionate about starwars you clearly are. I think he was just quickly responding to the question and hes entitled to say no. I dont think he meant to offend
Honestly when it comes to deep fakes, you have to be careful. The strikes over it literally just ended, it's a very sensitive topic for actors because it can set a precedent where anyone can use their likeness without compensation or approval. As a person, that has to be a really weird thing to see and be used like that. I believe getting permission on these things from the actor is important for this. I believe you should have tried to do that, and I don't believe this means Mark hates you. I get this really sucks, but just try to be careful going forward
It's irrelevant what Mark thinks on this topic anyway because he doesn't own the rights to his likeness when referenced as Luke Skywalker. He signed that away a long time ago. SWT has an agreement with LucasFilm who do own the likeness rights. The stuff with the actors strike also isn't relevant because SWT isn't part of the industry, nor is he in any of the relevant unions. Those agreements aren't legally binding to the wider population because it isn't a piece of US legislation, just a contract between private entities.
It wasn’t a deepfake strike. It was an overall AI strike. Deepfake still works best on the OG actor it’s trying to deepfake, and deepfake are still best used to make someone younger.
@@HenryCurrie-q2e It doesn't matter if he owns Luke Skywalker or not, it is still him, Mark Hamill. He still has a basic right to his personal face and public image because it is literally him. SWT doesn't have any rights of use for Luke Skywalker either, which is why this is a big deal and one of the reasons the actors strike happened, because of unfair usage of their public image in AI
They say it's better to ask for forgiveness than permission. In Theory's case, he should have simply asked Mark for permission to use his likeness and make the best content around his character. That way, you don't have to apologize. It's my two cents.

So when you said it wasn't cool to be a Star Wars fan at school, that really spoke to me. As unfortunately I had to act like I wasn't into it, one kid admitted he liked Star Wars and Star Trek and he was labelled the biggest Nerd in school, and it wasn't a cool thing to claim to be then. But now everyone knows I love Star Wars and I connect with all of it including the sequels such as Kylo Ren. Thank you for continuing this channel MLFBWY

Mans likes to complain about bricks and tries to gatekeep the fans....it's deserved.
This is a situation that DOES deserve criticism. Actors just fought for the write to have control over their AI likeness and did not okay this
so its ok with ignore FAIR USE. yes it still applies whether they f*ing like it or not. doing this is saying " we hate fans" so if they want to kill off their REVENUE STREAM, by all means BE MY GUEST.@@WereSquatch
Bro is actually so petty because Mark said
“No”
💀💀💀💀
"I wanna make the best Star Wars content that I wanna see..."
Something Mark can't even say....
Something I wish I could say.
May the Force be with you.
That’s so annoying I’m so sorry dude :/ !! I’m sure he isn’t mad or anything like they haven’t done that to a bunch of celebs and stuff
No people, he's not only saying "no" just cause he didn't participate. Man is an actor/voice actor, he does not want anything to do with AI and obviously disapproves of his likeness being manufactured by numbers.
Calling Hamill an actor is a colossal overstatement.
@@StevenRogers-hw9djHe gets casted, he plays a character on screen, he gets paid. Saying you have braincells is more of an overstatement than a millionaire who made his money ACTING being told hes not an ACTOR.
@@StevenRogers-hw9djLol then who tf qualifies as an actor in your book? JFC the audacity to think your opinion actually matters is the real overstatement here.
@@simonkatz3779 Aw, did I hurt your feelings, little guy? Tough, your opinion is hilariously irrelevant to anyone possessing an IQ over 60.
@@WereSquatch Your demonstration of the fact that his fans are illiterate creeps is fantastic!
Really didn’t like the implication at 3.5 minutes in that girls who just became fans aren’t worthy to be called fans. Dude you can’t keep claiming Star Wars fans “aren’t sexist” and then use so many gendered attacks.
As an “OG” fan by your definition (got my dog-eared copy of Heir to the Empire signed by Timothy Zahn himself) I want to say sorry to the people being bullied today for liking Star Wars like I was bullied as a kid. If you’re a woman who likes new Star Wars, I’m so sorry for people like this guy. You’re as much a fan as any of us.
To be clear: please keep creating fan content. My sister and I are long time viewers; I just mean that it’s time to live up to what you keep saying about being “apolitical.”
At the end I like your point about this being a question of respect for what Mark Hamill has achieved as an artist. I know many actors are uncomfortable with their bodies being puppeteered on screen without consent. Just because someone disagrees with this use of AI doesn’t mean they are a fake fan or fall somewhere on the political spectrum. A lot of “fake fans” probably agree with you, and frankly love a lot of what you’ve created. Attacking the character of people criticizing you isn’t helping make your point, it’s just making it harder for people to enter this space who aren’t what you call “O.G. fans.”
Agree that people in this community need to stop with the sexism, even if it's just implied. I feel like you've kind of missed the point of the video, I think he was saying that using Mark Hamill's image like this is less problematic because he's only making fan works. Fanfictions have infringed on copyright for years, and they're usually treated as harmless. The world would be a lot worse if we didn't have this kind of content out there. (Please don't be sexist). @@jeffreylin2980
Bro I was wondering when someone would point this out. Not cool Theory.
P.S. 3:15 is when it starts
this
stop gatekeeping!
Only Sith deal in absolutes. He didn't imply that all girls are not worthy to be called fans. He specifically singled out these e-girls. jumping on the bandwagon because it's now cool to be considered a nerd and react to content and consume next product. So often, words get twisted or someone's comment gets summed up badly to the degree of distortion....really tiring and not fun anymore
It's not an understanding problem, it's a desire to make it into something else...
support you all the way you really have the vision of what star wars is supposed to be
it’s not about making money or hating star wars it’s about using ai to control someone’s likeness for something they didn’t agree too- 😭😭just cast someone to play him and all of this would go away
The title to your video is very misleading.
Egirls"im such a nerd and geek etc"
SWT:"no, your an opportunist"
Bro that is my favorite thing you have ever said.
Opportunist? thats STW in a nutshell kid, he litterally used others person's likeness without consent lol

The theory hate is so forced man, I think this looks really cool.

Nah looks like shitty AI work that spits in the face of the actors and writers' strike.
Haters are gonna hate.
Looks like a ps2 cutscene
Now say it again without crying @Gino_5550
I honestly think you put too much mind into what people think, say, do or do not(couldn't help myself). Just keep doing you, your project and your channel is amazing. Been following since forever
It's hard not to when major corporations take what idiots on social media say, and use it to make themselves look good, even if it destroys someone's life. Like what Pablo did when TLJ was released. As the PR guy, he should've been fired for what he did.
@@rebuiltHK47 that one? For sure, I am with you on that one 🤝
The politicalisation of Star Wars was such a strange thing to come back to after I’d bowed out of the fandom years ago. I grew up on the EU, but suddenly if you liked Mara, people are making assumptions about you, especially if you didn’t care for Rey’s character. Absolutely bizarre.
I know right? There are now so many political factions in the Star Wars fandom.
Ironic that you all say this when theory constantly makes it political. Dude literally got so triggered by Mark saying one word that he brought up politics for absolutely no reason in this video.
@@grandmasteryado8478 this.
All he did was say no to that guy. That doesn't mean he doesn't like your fan stuff
As a fellow OG fan of Star-wars and also your channel I can totally agree with your talking points people like us just don’t mix well with this toxic modern day culture we live in keep up the great work.
May the force be with you my freind😊
Agree
I just think it has to be weird seeing people you don't know deep faking you. Which idk, think about if you drew an animation of him or had someone dress up to look like him, it's the same logic but because it's been around AND you know it's not you it's not as weird. This could be a huge case for whether artists can use deepfakes like that.
You're smoking. He's an actor. It's luke Skywalker. His face has been used and "deepfaked" more than most. Not that deep. There's a difference between a likeness and a person. There's a reason Mark Hamill isn't mad lol.
Good grief master skywalker needs a chill pill
He just said no...
@@StoolGoodmanstill
I have been saying this over and over again on my channel!! Star Wars is SO BIG. it's it's perfectly fine to like some bits more than others. and not liking or liking a piece of the content is NOT the same as political expression or views.
Thanks for all your work! LOVE your content!!! Happy to know you're not going anywhere!
>the project you're creating
>another guy is creating it
>wants it to be clear he's not writing any lines, just ripping lines from legends
Bro im not even a minute in and this is a bigger train wreck than I thought lmao
Gotta say I love you saying "I could make the content I make, but I'd rather make cool stuff" which certainly implies how cool your content is.
how many drugs did you take before writing this?

Dude, Mark didn't say anything against you or the amazing project that you are working on.
I would caution against accusing the GOAT of the original episodes of not liking you.
I think your frustration should be with the haters in the comments.
I'm not sure why you are even paying attention to them. You do you bro.
I would advise that you alter this video title before you spread any more confusion. Because if nothing actually phases you, then you wouldn't be making this more then it was: an honest answer.
May the Force be with you.
The most toxic thing is the people reacting on X to Mark saying, "No", and mocking Theory.
To be fair he only said you didn’t ask him to use his likeness. Not that you can’t use it or he’s mad about it.
However I think when Mark sees or hears about the project and he knows that you understand and respect his character he will probably enjoy it even if he’s not allowed to say.
Why don’t you start your own Sci-fi adventure as well as Starwars projects. You seem to be good at story telling and you’d be able to monetise and fund more fan films.
Head up dude you’re smashing it 🤘
