I wish I could get into this game. It looks so sick but it’s so much to take in at first lmao (and naturally all the characters I like are wayyyy too hard for me)

What is tough is finding even matchups. Everyone else is so good that its hard to find absolute beginners to play with.

Just pick a simple character and learn the game through that character. Ragna, Mai, Es, Terumi, Susanoo, Celica, Jin, Azrael, Tsubaki, Bullet, Naoto, Makoto, these are good choices. Just go to the tutorial mode and learn about the special traits of your pick, then move on to challenge mode. Clear Normal 1 to Hard 10 to learn some concept and combo theory of your pick. You can now go straight into online and find people to play with or you can go to the discord, get the resources and lab out the good combos, watch the best players matches. It is not hard to find a beginner opponent, just hard to find someone completely new. You can go to twitch and see if there's beginner hosting a room, you can just join them.

The mentioned characters are good, but I highly suggest these 4, Ragna, Tsubaki, Jin and Naoto. Many say naoto combo is hard, but that's for the optimal stuff. Every character in the game can reach very far, so just pick these starter character and get used to the game, then slowly try out the characters that you are originally interested with.

The best lambda….? Nowhere near aggressive enough for that title.

Iwasi might be stronger but atm this is the only Lambda with offline results in real tournaments.
