Having worked on my own game the last 2 years with my team and having learned a lot of the nuances and challenges of game dev seeing what this guy has done is incredible, super inspiring. Very clear just how skilled and knowledgeable he is to have gotten this far, not to mention dedicated and passionate. Probably the #1 indie dev in my eyes. Doing it right and killing it. Huge respect to Anti.

As for the Flycam thing, I used to be a cinematographer for 15 years (I've specialised in camera stabilisations like Steadicam and so called master shots), eventually ending up as a survival instructor and joining the military, so it's really cool to see my two passions are colliding in this game. I bet the dev already thought about it, but if he's not, there should be a native support of game pads in the game so you could operate the camera more realistically. Generally speaking how you flay a drone.
How cool is it to be making a video game, and some of the equipment in the game, is one of your sponsors. Personally I think that’s awesome, and a smart move for that company as well. I’ll be checking them out, getting a tent and a wood stove for a tent would be amazing lol

hes doing majority of the coding, design work, and ai work himself, only contracting out certain things he finds too tedious or difficult to obtain in the time frame he wants. i still find it wild, he developed the game on one engine, got so far, said fuck the company that owned that engine, and REBUILT the entire thing on a new development engine. hes the first person to develop a project like this on that new engine, and hes paving the way for so many others to follow and improve upon. i genuinely hope this game sees massive success

What you described at 16:00 is just like the 'BattleRecorder' they had for Battlefield 2 from 2005. After playing on servers with BattleRecorder enabled, you could download each round and follow any player or freecam around the map with similar controls and abilities as his Flycam. Would be very cool if he somehow made that possible.
re Savota, I feel it's not like The Day Before because at least their products and what they offer directly relate to the game, the TDB sponsorship didn't relate to the game so had no place.

Another Finnish game that I've played for decades now is UnReal World - those devs seem to have a similar mindset: they're still providing free updates and content for the game and their dev logs are very much 'living their game dream'. Edit: FlyCam - a weeks work, maybe more but the payback is going to be huge!

I'm a huge tarkov fan and a little bit of a dayz fan and the demo definitely feels a bit like the two of them combined.. it definitely feels more like dayz in the sense that the map is pretty Bare Bones and the items that you find in places don't really make sense at all. It's really cool to see somebody making a game like this but I don't think it would ever pull me away from tarkov or dayz as it doesnt really bring anything new to the table.
Imagine living in a world where developers make complete games without having to be perpetually glazed along the way for doing their job which is why we pay them. I can’t think of another industry where workers are constantly praised like toddlers showing their half-drawn zebra 🙏

I've tried the demo. I don't like the continually spawning enemies, it's annoying when they spawn near the trader while you're trying to buy stuff. Needs to be better mechanics to save my stuff. I'm not interested in spending hours to get griefed of all my equipment.
I will die wondering what would happen if 300 versions of this guy were all a dev team at a AAA studio. Or how many devs like this guy they would need to compete against the 300 dev AAA studios… 50? 75? 😂
Game definitely does NOT look incredible. Props to the guy for building a game on his own.. but it has many years to go in order for it to be worth anything. The gunplay and movement is awful right now and a shooter can't have that. You should know better. You have been reacting to indie development for years and years. Learn from your mistakes.

You have a in game camera recorder in Ready or not which you can record player, AI, in missions and all that stuff which is plenty cool !
The main issue that I have is I should be able to resize the end game HUD because it is very difficult to see what is actually going

AKM reload needs some work, if you've ever used an AK you know damn well you're not reloading it while holding the mag in that fashion
Almost all finns have been in army and we use ak variant called rk.
