Welp, I’ve had mine for less than a day, it’s amazing sounding! It’s easy to see what your doing once you get the layout. It’s different. I haven’t even tied it into a keyboard or mixing board yet.
@@spdycar13 Still love it! My favorite thing, it does weird and unexpected like nothing else. Buchla is it’s own sound the same way a VCS3 is (own a Syntryx). I’m not sure I’ll ever use a keyboard with either, probably should, but I love that just different approach. I have some vids on my channel starting with Elevator Pilot in title that use both along with a studio of other kit. Have fun with it, explore, ignore the box, Play to Play!

@@spdycar13 Over the last few years I’ve heard the east coast, west coast term a lot. Moog is east, Buchla is west sort of definition. It’s better defined as traditional (east) and abstract (west) with a even bigger grey area between. Traditional is more apt to mimicking familiar sounds and use a keyboard. Abstract goes into unnatural sounds typically with some form of modulation, but both can use sequencers. If you look at my studio (that’s only half of what I have) most would fit the east coast definition of synths, but I usually use them more in a west coast approach. The Easel is just amazing at west coast. It is unbelievable with a east coast approach at creating lead and bass patches which was how I really got to play with it at first as a VST with poly capability in Ableton Live 10, Push 2 and Arturia Mk ll keyboard. I have a 0-Coast & 0-Ctrl, I love em because they are so different but have that just abstract sound. If I went deeper into modular Make Noise and Buchla both would be in the Rack. You may want to check out Todd Barton’s channel, he’s an old time Buchla guy and goes over the Easel as well as Buchla modular kit. Hope this was helpful.😊
I have no idea how this works but I’m buying it. Just did the same with arp2600. These new classics will be vintage one day and I’m buying all of them. Obx8, P5, Buchla, Arp2600
To be honest I think lesson one is to complex and to quick information. Like to start on a easy way. Let’s say with just one connection and a explanation. This is to much info for a beginner for this nice instrument.
Respectfully, this wouldn’t be considered a beginner synth so they are assuming you know the basics. I avoided getting one until I learned more about the basics of modular synthesis. Good luck!
You can see it as the art of making the flow of electrons audible and bringing them to dance in a way which sounds pleasing to you. Have you ever wondered whether you approach new things with an non-judging curiosity? Maybe you just didn't dig deep enough or your comprehension of musicality is rather narrow. And probably you haven't played such an instrument yourself before. It's generally much more intriguing if you are the one controlling the direction of the flow, discovering. But once you gathered some experience with sound synthesis, you might also appreciate other people's take on it more. Also, there's a huge diversity in artists and preferences. So really, there are plenty of reasons for why you might find it boring, but maybe you should start with listening to an actual performance and not the instruction video teaching about the different sections of an instrument. Or yea, actually play one.
Some people like things and sounds that are a bit more abstract than the norm. Every sound is music if you can perceive it as such. There’s beauty everywhere, if only you can see it. This isn’t some esoteric gibberish, but the truth. Have a nice day. 😉

I never understood using synths just to make random noises , step 1 , step 2 , step 109 and 3 hours later all you get is a boring random noise ...
