Honestly, this ride is underrated. Great for people's first roller coasters too! I went on this as my first roller coasters and i got over basically all my fears of coasters
thanks for the heart
Sameee
I agree it's so underrated.
@@zunchyboii2161 I’m in Alton towers right now! Just woke up. Going on galactic a first
same here except from one before! All my life up until yesterday I’ve been deathly afraid of rollercoasters then I went on Rita and I was just like ✨wow✨ then I went on galactica and loved it even more!!
Galactica is an incredible experience. Some great forces when you are on your back and the ride area as a whole is great. This ride certainly is a whole package and is one of the most fun experiences in the UK.
Why don't I hear more about this ride? It may not look intense, but the way it interacts with the scenery is crazy!
Yeah! That first 20 seconds on your back looks like something straight from RCT
Looks can be deceiving, this ride is intense!!
It suppose to be vr
Going on Sunday not a thrill seeker and has never been on an upside down ride but want to try this. does this actually go upside down can someone explain the invert thing. Thank you
@@ellawilson691 no it dont go upside down cus ur lying on ur belly so when it does turns and stuff ur not upside down
May not look fast, but trust me, its absolutely insane. Loved every second of it.
It's a great coaster, especially considering this was the prototype B&M flyer.
@Pasta Flying coasters are great once you get used to riding them 🙂
it’s definitely a ride to get you settled into a theme park
I love this ride its so relaxing
same!
Not now. They made it way quicker.
ikr!
@@arkyshi1027I rode it yesterday and I still find it pretty relaxing :)
@@lambandham you found that relaxing 💀
I love this ride, I was very fortunate enough to be in the front seats with a couple of friends. I remember in the queue waiting for the ride we were slowly watching to see if we would get in front and luckily there were girls in front of me and my friends who could hear us talk about sitting at the front and they kindly let us go in front of them so we could be in the front seats. It was an unbelievable experience.
It's not really supposed to make any difference what row you're in on a flying coaster, but we also love the front and back rows :)
@Muhsin Shah That's good to hear, thanks for watching :)
Rode this ride for the first time yesterday, it's super fun! Probably my all-time favourite ride, it feels like you are flying!
It's a lot of fun 🙂
I know!it’s so goshdarn fun!I went on it not long ago,I’m currently writing this on a coach to go back home. But I have to say,Rita has to be a close second for me
i love this ride! When you’re on it, it feels like you’re flying! 😂
We like it too :)
When you stand in the queue waiting and get to the bit that’s next to the fly to lie, it genuinely sounds like a fighter jet is coming
What an amazing ride! I watched this pov before deciding if I should or not and I did go and it was sooo worth it! The drops, when it goes on your back. OMG
Pleased to hear you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching 🙂
The fly-to lie is quite intense and the turns are almost relaxing 😂 it's a criminally underrated ride!
Omg before I went on this ride I cryed then after the ride I loved it
what’d you cry for? 😂
One of the best rides at the park if you visit definitely go on galactica
It's different to all other flyers out there as well, it's a very unique coaster.
went on this 3 times today and nemesis 4 times!! loved it :)
I went on this today, was scared to the point of almost not getting on it (I have a fear of coasters) but halfway through it, it was the best thing I have done, and it has made me more comfortable with rides
@plasmf1re It was designed to not be overly intense. There are no real big drops, and it doesn't have a high top speed. It's definitely one of the coasters in AT that's not specifically designed for thrill seekers.
Hello There, a great POV of Galactica, thank you for this, it's much appreciated. Kind regards Peter :-)
Thank you 🙂
@@XtremeCoasters Hello There, you're welcome. Cheers Peter :)
This is a great ride! Definitely brung me back from my horrible experience on Rita as a first rollercoaster 🤣 I love this ride to bits, I once rode it twice in the space of an hour
It sure is. It's one of a kind!
ive been on every ride there
We have too 😁
I live in the US and just heard of this ride. I can't stand drops, and avoid 90% of the coasters at the parks. I'm a bit intrigued with this one- may make a trip to Alton next time I'm in the UK!
This doesn't really have any drops, it's definitely a more relaxed experience compared to other coasters.
its the worlds first flying roller coaster
Went to the park with my friend on a rainy day just after the schools went back and it was so quiet that we were able to stay on the ride for 4 go arounds as there were not enough people queuing to require us to get off, ride ops just gave us a thumbs up each time lol, was getting darker too at that time so it just looked awesome.
I love more intense rides but for some reason the comfy cosy Galactica swooshing me through the trees is so addictive
That was lucky! We've had a few days like that at AT as well 🙂 Galactica definitely offers something a little different to all the other coasters in the park.
by far my favourite ride at alton towers
It is a lot of fun 🙂
I went to Alton Towers yesterday for the first time and honestly, this ride is a hidden gem. It’s smooth, it’s enjoyable and it isn’t too intense! Great recommendation for younger people coming to the park that want a calmer first ride (I went straight on Rita first thing lol)
Agree 😬
Omg you went on Rita first?! Woaaa
I really hope in the near future they retheme it back to air but with the originally planned theming! Loved the old music!
That would be amazing. Now the VR headsets have been removed, the Galactica theme doesn't really work anymore. They'll likely update it again at some point 🙂
@@XtremeCoasters Exactly. My only concern with it is that they might theme it to Nemesis or the Phalanx for the sake of it. Alton Towers has more than enough dark and gloomy themed rides, it'd be nice to see Galactica avoid getting a dark retheme, but more of a restoration of the original theme. Air as a brand is still popular, I do see people around the park still wearing air branded stuff to this day haha!
We can't forget that great announcement though. "Prepare for air, assume the position, now fly...."
I’ve been wanting to go on this nemesis and smiler for ages and I’m finally tall enough
Cant Wait to go to Alton towers and ride them
Awesome 😁 Nemesis is our favourite out of the two, but both are great coasters.
I wish the virtual reality would return the ride was very good with it
It was a nightmare to keep clean though, and really slowed down the train dispatching from the station, resulting in a much longer queue line.
Very underrated ride
Agree!
Happy 20th birthday galactica 🎂🎉😊🎊
Alton towers is truley magical
Guys its the best feeling ever i suggest put the video to 1.75 it feels like that speed wise
😂 This was filmed with an empty train in fairness, so it will look a little slower than when it's full of riders.
This ride is flying, it does what a flying coaster is supposed to do: give you the feeling of flight
It sure does!
Wish i could have gone on it in 2016 while they still had the headsets
You haven't really missed much to be honest. The visual quality on the headsets left a lot to be desired, it's much better without it.
I might go to Alton towers and I’m really scared for this one. My bro went on it but I’m terrified of it
It's nothing to be scared of, it's a very relaxing experience once you get used to the flying position 🙂
Thank you. I might consider it but for now I’m taking second thoughts.
@@Vlogsby_emily You'll know when you're ready. The fear of the unknown is usually worse than the reality 🙂
It's cool how the indoor section of the coaster is blue.
That was the original colour 🙂
Omg I got front row the other day and I cant stop thinking about it. 10/10 experience it was like I was flying.
U already know I was doing a superman pose.
Also I got mad leg cramp on this💀 I couldn't wait for it to turn so I'd be on my back again
Out of ten how much does it make your stomach go?
@@lshxjxj 2. didnt really feel anything, really fun.
Hey I’m going to Alton towers on the 1st of June and I HATE rollercoasters but I’m feeling like trying this one out. Is there anything I should know before I go on? I don’t like big drops or going upside down
You might get taken by surprise when you rise into the flying position into the station, but this is a gentle coaster. There are no big drops or loops, you do however spend a fair bit of time laying on your back travelling in what feels like reverse, (even though you're going forwards). It will all make sense once you've ridden it :)
@@XtremeCoasters I’m so scared! Thank you for your help
@@charlottechambers487 The thought of the unknown is more scary than the actual experience. Once you've done it, you'll probably find you'll want to go round and do it all again 🙂
How was it?
@@pinkelephant5684 it seriously wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, I now have a new favourite ride!
Alton Towers has the best landscaping
That fly to lie is very intense
It really is. You feel the force tightly pinning you down.
I’m going to Alton towers soon, how does it feel going upside down on this?
Because you're facing down already, it does not feel like you're inverting. Whenever the track inverts, you're laying on your back looking upwards. It feels very strange, but is still quite relaxing.
My 9 year old daughter wants to go on Nemesis and this ride!
She will love them, they're two amazing coasters. Probably better to start her on this ride though, Nemesis is quite intense.
the video doesnt do this ride justice, feels so much faster and better
Coasters ways feel faster when your actual riding them, as you have all the other elements added in like the wind, the feeling of going down the drops etc. But the reality is, this is the speed of the coaster 🙂
Are Alton towers allowing you to wear be headsets
The VR option has now been removed.
@@XtremeCoasters oh i never knew i thought it was just vr
It's. So good
Just as it's getting going...it's done.
It is one of the shorter flying coasters out there, but it was also the first B&M flyer.
Comfiest ride ever
Most B&M flying coasters are :)
When I actually go on the ride in Alton Towers it felt way faster and way crazier
It always does 🙂
Wasn’t this previously called “air”?
@TanniesAngel It sure was. It then got re-themed to Galactica with VR headsets.
I really want to ride it but I’m just under 1.4
Does this ride hurt ur back like on hero in flamingo land
You can't even compare the two. This is nothing like Hero in any way, shape or form. It's very smooth 🙂
@@XtremeCoasters oh alright ty
@@XtremeCoasters will be going on it then
@@atiqahsan733 Have fun 😁
Do they still have the stupid vr on this? I much preferred it when it was just Air
The VR has now gone thankfully. Only got to ride once with the VR, it was quite unremarkable.
@@XtremeCoasters oh thank god! It was so bad
same
I love how noone is screaming 🤣🤣🤣 it wouldnt be that quiet if i was on it lol c
Is it upside down
@@Elvisexplores no its sideways
This looks relaxing but i know id still feel absolutely terrified because im not in a seat/stable in a car/carriage.
This ride looks epic but the walls when your rising up looks so grimey
Yes, a bit of work is needed on the tunnels. They were originally supposed to be fully themed, but it never happened.
Well that’s a unique B&M invert.
It’s not an invert lol.
Omg you have just gave me an awesome idea.
This but with inverted trains.
@@kaymullacmusic that fly to lie... ouch
@@alexstvckey1127 that’s some dead shoulders
I can feel the pain already
@@kaymullacmusic honestly my shoulders were fine n im soso tiny, i loved it
Does this go upside down coming from someone’s that isn’t a thrill seeker
Not as such. You're flying below the track, so when the track flips, you're upright on your back looking up at the sky 🙂
Great ride, but hate the re-theme/name it feels so out of place with Forbidden Valley, least AIR's generic theme was a little more fitting.
I personally hate airs theming as it was literally “air” and so it was boring
@@_burnso_3099 It was meant to be about flying through the "air". -_- At least AIRs theme fitted in more than Galactica. But when you come to think of it, (aside from that tacky piece of theming after the first drop & a covered station) what Theme does Galactica have? I mean, if they were going to re-theme AIR, then why do it properly? Paint the track a metallic blue as it still looks like AIR & actually put some effort in 'cause the real gimmick was the VR which when in 019.
I personally think they've ruined AIR & their attempt to re-theme it is like the equivalence of theme throwing some tinsel & baubles on a Palm Tree & saying it's a Christmas Tree! It looks odd & slap dash!
@@KoasterKing205 I prefer Galactica but I agree with what your saying about the theming problem, but I heard it was budget cuts.
@@_burnso_3099 Fair enough, even though I personally think there isn't much differentiation from when it was AIR, even more so now they've removed the VR Headsets. They shouldn't have bothered re-theming at all if it was only going to be some half arsed theming in place along with a now gimmick VR headset. Don't get me wrong, I loved the VR Headset addition & found it to be great, but the quality began to decline after the first year & now that is gone, the ride doesn't feel like Galactica & looks & feels like AIR with some minor space theming.
Damn that’s hurtling!
It was filmed at the end of the day, so it had all day to warm up 🙂
I really wanna go on it but im so scared 😭
It's not a scary coaster. Once you've done it once, you'll likely want to ride again and again 😁
@@XtremeCoasters does it go fast?
@sarahshawe3967 Not really. 46.6mph to be exact.
@@XtremeCoasters oh ok thank you I'm gonna ride it in a few weeks hopefully I like it 😭
@@sarahshawe3967 Have fun 😁
This is a bit faster when I went on it today
I miss air
Same, although galactica is good i prefer it without the virtual reality
I’ve been on it twice both times I felt like I was flying
Most underrated ride at the park; I feel like people know more about Rita than this one.
It was also the first B&M flying coaster in the world 🙂
No it wasnt
@@prodky33 It was the first B&M manufactured flying coaster.
@@christopherthomas3403 ik sorry
Will never go on this again....at 56 seconds on this video...thats where the ride jammed and we were left suspended hanging facing downwards for more than 10 minutes. Full pressure from the harnasses on our chests and told we couldnt be put back into an upryte position.
Not fun at all
They went upside down 🙃
😎 cool
@@ChristinaRenteria-pn1zv They sure do 😁
And I’m at Alton towers right now
Have fun!
Ironic---there was an ad for Medicare before this video.
Honestly galactica may seem scary but it really isnt when going on it i just felt like I was flying
That's exactly what they wanted to achieve when designing it 🙂
I never go this ride again
🤣 People either love it or hate it.
You dont actually go upside down on the inversion, you lie on your back because your facing down on the ride
Correct 🙂
Okay I may not like rides but this looks nice and not that fast
It's not an intense coaster, it's more like gliding through the air.
@@XtremeCoasters oh I definitely need to try it then
@@georgiaobrien4267 Pretty sure you'll love it 🙂
It's not scary at all it's really fun though
That’s sad no more vr I was hoping to go on it with be
You did not miss much in all honesty, it wasn't that great.
im not sure if its the real one but u can just search galactica vr if you wanted to see it, although ofcourse you arent on it. Althought i MUCH prefer it without vr
I love how it was called Air when it was literally on the ground lol
Gaat deze ook over de kop lijkt een beetje op The Fly
Ja, het heeft een In-Line twist, het heeft ook een lang gedeelte dat je op je rug laat vliegen.
I want to go on something more thrilling than Galactica.
Nemesis
I went on it for the first time when I was 14, front row aswell, its undescribable, word can't explain it I was buzzing :)
@@meganwright542 yessss
Something more thrilling is nemesis or oblivion but oblivion is over in a few seconds where as nemesis goes on for a bit longer, rita is also pretty fast and th13teen has an unexpected drop, something definitely thrilling is the smiler, if you really want to.
Nemesis. and if you want more thrill on nemesis than normal go on the back row as the front row pulls you over claiming more g’s
The most boring ride in existence and it makes me really nauseous
If a boring ride makes you nauseous then you got some problems
@@xtremeentertainmenttv9664 its my opinion. You don't need to tell me that I have problems. I find it dull, a lot people do, but the restraints and the forces make my stomach turn.
