    This is the first time that I've heard someone explain why bra cup sizes and dressmaking cup sizes are different. I knew that they were different, but I've never thought about why. It seems so obvious now that you've explained it. Thank you, Karina.

    Hi Karina, this was one of the first knit patterns I attempted, and failed miserably on the neckline. I learned, with your tutorials, how to "anchor" those pesky pivot points and this made all the difference. I will make another Olympia for sure as its a very flattering pattern in my opinion. You look lovely in your new dresses today. xx

    Great step by step directions on the neckline. I like that you place emphasis on marking and matching the dots. I have this pattern from awhile ago but have yet to make one. I like the little tweaks, I’m glad I waited, I think I might get a better fit, having a fuller bust. I too sometimes do a “sneaky seam” when I don’t have enough fabric. 😊. Love both your Olympia dresses but the animal print one especially!

    I’ve been reading recently that when taking upper bust measurement, it should be taken without wearing a bra. I’m confused by that as my measurement is very different with/without. I’d be very interested in your view on this please

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think the topic is controversial because the opinions go both ways. My take? I wear my clothes with a bra, so that’s how I take all my measurements.

    • @deniseblake6214
      @deniseblake6214 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LiftingPinsandNeedles thank you … that’s my opinion too

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles
      @LiftingPinsandNeedles 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@deniseblake6214 there’s more discussion to it…. If a person generally has normal or broad shoulders, getting a smaller measurement without a bra might give you a smaller size and tight shoulders….so I’m cautious about the no bra recommendation as it will not work for all.

    • @deniseblake6214
      @deniseblake6214 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@LiftingPinsandNeedles I’ve been sewing for myself for several years and always measured with bra and I’ve not found a generic problem with fitting myself in that area so I’m going to carry on. Is there a way of lowering de back of the neckline? I really don't like it to be so high in my neck. I also don't wear scarfs for that exact same reason. It looks like a collar that stands up, or do I see it the wrong way?

    • @LoveNotions
      @LoveNotions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The collar is a shawl style collar and does fit a little higher on the back neckline. I suppose you could hack it if you'd like to lower it. ~K
