Wow I think you may have just removed my fear of these types of patterns! I had a horrible experience about 15 years ago which put me off them completely. Obviously you have worked out the kinks! I’m just getting back into sewing because I’m fat and can’t find any clothes I like. Even decent clothing for average size people is very hard to find. Looking forward to giving one of your patterns a try!
Thank you for this. It's very helpful for a UK sewist like me. I'm new to LN and have only two patterns so far one of which I've made up and love. (the LDT).
Hi Ethel. The solid line is for US letter size pages and the dotted line if for A4 size. You first should turn off whichever you don't need in the layers panel as it will be easier to follow with just one of the lines. With the dotted lines for A4, you will line up the edge of the page flush to the the dotted line. With some printers, your page may have a border at the top of the page. This border will be a thick black solid line and will need to be trimmed. All of that is demonstrated in this video so I highly recommend you watch the full video to see the A4 instructions or you can skip to timestamp 6:20 to see just the A4 steps. ~K
Hi, I find the actual assembly really easy, what I’m having a problem with, is that when you print the pattern layout, the page numbers are so light that I can hardly see them, any chance of darkening this at all? Many thanks if you read this!
This has been changed in the newer patterns as well as old patterns that have updated. For patterns that still have the old format, you can zoom in on that area in Adobe reader to see it better. ~K
The instructions for each pattern are included in the "print at home" file included with each pattern. The print pages for the pattern are at the end of that file. Was there a specific pattern you needed help with? Or a more generalized "how to?" We have a lot of getting started blog posts on the Lovenotions.com website, too! ~J
Hmm not quite sure what you mean? The important thing is that the pages butt up against each other, not necessarily to the mat. If you want to check the scale you can measure the test square. Can you elaborate on your question? :)
@@LoveNotions I placed them on my cutting mat once to keep the bottom line straight, and the pages seem to line up with the grid lines very well. Some fall on the 1 inch line others fall on the 1/2 inch line as paper is 8 1/2 x 11.
I have bought a stack of LN patterns. Such lovely patterns but do not know how to assemble with the dotted lines Please Help. My patterns are heaping up with what I do not know how to assemble. I'm in South Africa
Hi is it right that there is then 2 rows of dotted lines. When watching the assembling video it is not clear. It's a distance away therefore can't see 1 or if 2 dotted lines
I need help. I've watched your videos over and over but it has not addressed my issue. I've gone to the facebook pattern support group and joined but I don't see where you really get immediate help. How long do you typically wait to get the help ?
Did you make a post in the group? I am so sorry you didn't receive the help you needed. Admins, moderators and even fellow makers are commenting on posts in the Facebook group constantly. It is very rare for a post to go unanswered for 24 hours. You can email help@lovenotions.com and we'd be happy to assist you there. ~K
You may have an updated version of the pattern. There is a print chart in the pattern so you can see exactly how it will go together. As long as you follow that, you'll be fine! ~K
Make sure you have guidelines turned on in the layers section in Adobe. There are different guidelines for Letter and A4 paper so choose accordingly. Here's the blog post that goes with this video... hopefully it gives you some clarity: www.lovenotions.com/how-to-print-and-assemble-a-pdf-pattern ~K
Do you have unlimited use of the pdf pattern? Are you limited to the amount of times your able to print it out before you have to buy new copy of the pattern?
I’m from the U.K. and I’m sorry that didn’t help at all you did a close up of butting the pieces up for the USA lines but not the fir the rest of us so I couldn’t see where you where placing the two sheets together.
We'll put an A4 specific tutorial on our list - our customer base is largely using US dimensions, but we can definitely get you some more visuals for A4 :)
Thank you so much for your how to videos for beginners….so grateful.
Oh my goodness... thank you so much! We are delighted to hear you've found them helpful! ~K

Awesome! Welcome to the Love Notions family! Happy to have you! 🙂 ~K
I really like the dress you’re wearing. Can you tell me what pattern it is. Thanks.
Tami is wearing Vivace Dolman in the thumbnail and Whistler Sweater in the video. ~K
This is awesome!
So happy to hear! ~K
Hi, each page has a solid and dotted line on each side. Do you cut the excess off to line up the dotted lines. South Africa

Can you tell me where to find instructions for sewing PDF patterns once you have downloaded pattern.

Thank you for the tutorial! But I do have a question, will the pages not line up perfectly on the inch and half inch cutting mat grid lines?

Hi! It sounds like you are using A4 paper? If you reference the video here at minute 6:33 you will see the A4 instructions demonstrated :)
Hi is it right that there is then 2 rows of dotted lines. When watching the assembling video it is not clear. It's a distance away therefore can't see 1 or if 2 dotted lines
There should only be one dotted line. If you don't uncheck us letter guidelines, you will see a solid line for that plus the dotted guideline for A4.

I printed out this pattern and my numbers on the pieces are different that your numbered pieces did I do something wrong?
You may have an updated version of the pattern. There is a print chart in the pattern so you can see exactly how it will go together. As long as you follow that, you'll be fine! ~K
I do not have any guidelines....what do I do

Once you purchase and download you are able to have unlimited prints ❤️

Couldn’t see exactly what you were doing on your table!
If it helps, we also have a blog post coming out with a little more detail - I'll link you with that when it comes out tomorrow :)
I'm an international user....i fo not have any guidelines .
What size paper are you using?
