I both love and hate how he interprets the song differently each time. I love the way he can manipulate the tempo and speed up and drag it out and always fall into step with everything, thats masterful. And I hate the fact that I find the original song melodically beautiful, as in perfect, and have never seen a live performance of it XD
I’ve always thought he had a unique voice. But his ability to tell a story while improvising with lyrics and passion in his voice puts these boys over the type. Also, the ability of the musicians to mimic the feeling he’s getting across is excellent! 10/10. Great version!

What's cool is that you could see that they hadn't rehearsed, as Adam said, so they are just finding their way at the start. So a lot of improv, but Adam rolls on and the band finds their way as it builds. Always a great, great live band. And one of America's great modern singer/ songwriters.

Adam Duritz channels his emotions into his performances like none other. Counting Crows tend to improv a lot - pushing their songs into new territory, with Adam plumbing the depths of human emotion to tell a story as much as he is singing a song. It’s incredible. This performance of Round Here is good but ain’t the best. Check out Pink Pop 2008.

I wish they included the full interview. If I recall ( I listened to it live) he had fried his brain on acid long before this and lives a perpetual trip. That was part of the bunny suit... if i remember correctly he basically is tripping on acid 24/7.
