LCW is agreat competitor. He has lost to LD but he always keeps trying and gives his best. We all know LD is a marvel of badminton but to compete him we need fighters like LCW. Both are champions I should say. Legends in their own way. pople will always rembr them. I love to see both play its such a delight.

I can see that LCW changed his footwork strats, he is now doing less skipping/bouncing to save energy. But I just think mentally he is more exhausted. LD kept his cool despite 0-4 at the start.

yea LCW physically is stronger then LD in this match, but mentality LD is stronger. If LCW play like he did vs LEE Dong Keun with that "I will win this match mentality", LCW would of won this match.
It all came down to who wanted it more, I think. LCW had his sights at bigger tournaments like the Asian games and the WC. While Lin Dan saw this as a last push towards greatness.

I could tell LCW was going to lose in the first 5 points of game 2. He stopped attacking, and just played defensive shots. He didn't try to quickly get in back of shots and smash, and most of his smashes were half speed. He kept clearing, and eventually LD found a way to attack. I am sure he knew what was happening. He's a very smart player. I think he must have gotten injured and knew he COULDN'T attack effectively, at least not against a player as good as LD. I notice his shoulder was strapped up...I suspect he may have injured it in Game 1. Until about 16-15 in Game 1, LCW was attacking, and had the edge. After that, he turned defensive, and didn't score another point, as LD scored 6 straight points to close out the first game. This just continued into the second game, with only brief periods of aggressive, attacking play after that from LCW. Impossible to beat LD playing defensively.
Because he can't win lin dan,lin dan's defence is on the other level as compared to other players,he blocked lcw smashes too many times using his backhand
This game kind of highlights how LCW has always performed somewhat inferior when playing against LD + LD always plays better when against LCW. The reason is because players such as Axelsen and Momota have already surpassed LD by a large margin by 2017/2018. There's been games where LD couldn't even get 10 points, which is sad. Yet LCW still can consistently beat Axelsen and is around the same level as Momota. 2018 LD is around rank the level of a rank 10-20 player, being unable to beat Axelsen, Momota, Shi Yu Qi, Chou Tien Chen, Jonatan Christie, and even a bunch of lower ranked ones such as Loh Kean Yew. 2018 LCW could still beat all of the above. So it just frustrates me to 1) see LCW play nervous and make so many mistakes, and 2) LD actually smashing and attacking, but having no idea how to play Momota in Japan 2018.

@@justazir9990 You're dead wrong. They are all tournaments, the difference is players put in a lot more effort and fight a lot harder to become an Olympic or a World Champion. It's a whole different level of playing field. Players have to be qualified to participate in either Olympic or World Championship, unlike Super Series or All England in which any player can join in. You have to be the top players, if not the best, to be competing with each other, especially in Olympic, which is held only once every four years.

With the World Record for winning 12th times major Super Series Malaysia Open and became first and last non - Indonesian player that winning Indonesia Open 6th times also reach in final olympic consisten for three time . Became only badminton player that reach 1st ranking for 4 years and also always be called as the Kings of Super Series. Lindan is legend with winning big tournament. Winning 2 times Olympic medalists and 5 times world champion and has been called as The Kings of Olympic. But Lindan can't beat LCW for the record that what LCW became the legend . Truck Mate Olympic And World Dosent prove anything because olympic and world is just a TOURNAMENT it is a place where badminton players play just like superseries and all england so literally olympics and world dosent have a difference to other tournaments world and olympic is just higher points. A tournament is a tournament there is difference except the points so yeah that is why

@@justazir9990 You're dead wrong. They are all tournaments, the difference is players put in a lot more effort and fight a lot harder to become an Olympic or a World Champion. It's a whole different level of playing field. Players have to be qualified to participate in either Olympic or World Championship, unlike Super Series or All England in which any player can join in. You have to be the top players, if not the best, to be competing with each other, especially in Olympic, which is held only once every four years.
