What do those renthal covers on the grips do?
Grip covers to stop oil , fuel etc making the grips slippery when the bike is cleaned

Can you run a different cam on the supercross?
yes, the only thing that has to resemble the production engine is the cases and number of transmission gears and they cant use some of the super exotic metals use in Formula 1 cars (Beryllium being the main banned metal compound)

That bike is a work of art. Wonder how much lighter it is vs stock CRF450
About 15lbs lighter and about 8-10 hp more!

Are the new 2018 crf 450r available in Canada? Honda will hopefully cave to the black rims in 2019, yosh exhaust, HRC decal set, and seat cover and your there. SHOWA sticker is about as close as you'll get to the suspension.

What are the grip covers for? To keep the oil from the skin of the mechanics or litteral oil off of the grips
David Bicking I think it’s just for when the bikes in the pits it shows the brand for better advertising
They are a precaution when your bike is resting ..yes for oil and dirt and to somewhat protect the life of the grip but really it's just like gimmick to advertise.

It means it's not available to the public, made by HRC for factory bikes only

Honda has totally abanded all 2 strokes and the affordable XR line. They don't support mini racers or adults on a budget. No reason to buy Honda at all. They only want racers with deep pockets. Thats why the largest Honda dealer in the US just folded. Honda can go suck it. I hope KTM/Husky whips them!

I agree, I grew up on nothing but Honda for smaller ATVs and bikes when I learned at a young age before my CRs. After a 10 year break I just recently picked up a KTM 300 XC. Haven't seen dirt yet as I'm still dripping it in parts. My 450R was great, but as an average rider maintenance etc. was too much. KTM/Husky have remained dedicated to the sport.
How is maintenance for a Honda too much? I have a 2014 Honda crf250r and all I ever done to that bike was re seal the forks.
