Thank you Walter, I appreciate it! The goal is always to be informative with detailed info about each bike, while also entertaining enough to keep the video interesting.
I really wish I had the money to buy this bike, but after purchasing a new TM EN300ES and aftermarket parts I'm as broke as ever! Gone are the days of buying a new bike for 5-6k - especially where I live!!! It sucks that it takes 5 years to obtain two new bikes because of my inflated west coast mortgage and added utilities and insurance etc. Guess I should just be happy that I have such a great bike now cause it's more than many people have! I'll be scrounging & saving every last dime until I can get the RX version of this bike...these seem every bit as beautiful as the late 80's Honda CRs! Super pumped and stoked to watch this video in a few hours!!! Let's get it on!!!!!! 🇺🇸🤘💪👊
Hopefully, you're not talking about my beloved TM??? That is still new...as far as the bike before the TM, it has been sold for awhile now, but the Yami was good to me! I'll just need to start saving. Haha
I always had a hard time finding comfort on any Honda. It seems like the immediate set-up and chassis is for a slightly shorter rider. Being 6ft1 and lanky the Honda's unfortunately never worked for me. The 2021 looks absolutely fantastic.
How is it that every single year you guys say essentially that “oh this one is amazing, last years wasn’t good”????? When last year you tested it, you didn’t say that. Ridiculous reviewers are never honest!!!!!!
They all do it. Dirt Bike Magazine, Dirt Rider, Cycle World, etc... I know what you're talking about. They've been doing it forever. I can remember reading articles through out the 80's, 90's, 00's and thinking they had so much good to say about a bike only to trash it a few years later.
Hey Brandon, I understand a lot of people do say stuff like that, but have you seen our 2020 Honda CRF450 video or read our magazine article on that bike last year?? Thats not entirely true. The 2007-2008 crf450 was a good bike. Honda went to fuel injection in 2009 and mxa was critical of crf’s for years after always remembering the 07-08 as being a better bike. That being said all these machines are awesome these days no matter what the brand. I have a 2019 CRF450rwe loving it and will probably get the 2021. Also you need to read the magazine review they are more consistent these online first ride videos are all over the place sometimes seems better when they have the shootout and compare bikes back to back. Just get what you like and ride.
I have read MXA since early 70's and they do not do that. They tell it like they see it. No ads from manufacturers so no incentive to not tell the true story.
Josh Great Vid u Really went ovr alot more thn the othr guys did n thr vids. the history U gave on the Bike is SO TRUE. I worked 4 a Honda/Yam/Suz Shop 4 almost 25yrs. I think not bein able 2 change the map on the fly kinda sucks. smebdy nds 2 cme up wth solution 4 tht. the 450 Shootout is nxt week Right. Wick On ✊MXA
Honda runs on a 4 year model cycle, and as the guy above said, the 250 is a year behind, so 2022. This bike likely will not change, aside from minor updates, until 2025, and the after next year's update, the 250 will not until '26.
I loved my 08 crf450 then I got a 2010 and it was SSSOOOOOO much better. Now I hate the geometry of my 08. Maybe I'm built weird or have a strange riding style? I can't help but think I'm NOT the only guy out there that prefers the 1st gen fi crf450 frame/geometry. I currently ride a CR500AF. Its an 09 crf450 fitted with a 95 cr500 engine. By far thee best of both worlds in my irrelevant humble opinion of course.
Finally a Honda that looks like a Honda again! a proper MX albeit a 4t, what did they resurrect MR Honda! the last guy and time that Honda was a successful MX/SX brand, plus did the 2t Honda engineers get brought out of the basement, to engineer this because the bike looks like it came from all those guys, it looks so much slimmer, lighter and just a proper looking MX bike, the air box single bolt is a bit disappointing, come on can’t ya get that sorted like KTM too, it’s taken them to bring you into the real dirtbike world again and drop that road and scooter bike mentality again you have been so stubborn about for the last 10 years, hopefully the 250 will follow suit this year as well. Be nice to see a company go back to all models updated in the same calendar year, none of this modern trickle down BS, I still remember the best year Honda released all new CR80/ CR125R and CR250R and 500R in 1986 all 4 won shootouts everywhere and I got me the 125, still one of my favourite Honda’s ever and favourite bikes ever, the whole range was awesome, amazing bikes and times. 80s, 125s, 250s and 500s were dominant and at every event back then.So good job Honda like the results you aren’t the leader innovator like you once were during the 80s and 90s but good to see you back better late than never. Still would have liked a Blue seat, never can get used to the red seat. Guess will have to wait a bit longer for perfection, but it looks good and I haven’t said that about a Honda MX bike since the 07 CR250R. Good job MXA as well, good initial review.
To me honda makes un matched bikes. Power, reliable once tweaked some a straight winner. Just like in the 90s honda rules 2 strokes now not so much but compared to other companies Honda seems to be a notch higher than the rest.
From what it sounds like.. KTM still the best and I could tell by watching Gajser race this bike. He hasn't been blowing people away or pulling holeshots with it. Would like to know the durability on this bike also.
i have never owned or rode a dirt bike, but i saw one of these at the dealership... question im 5'6 , is this bike to big for me? it looked huge in person
Honestly that's not really a question someone can answer just by knowing your height and how tall the bike is. There's quite a few factors that come in to play in regards to that. I've seen people that are maybe an inch or two over 5 foot tall riding a 450 with ease and I've seen someone 6'4 riding a 250f.
on the fly map switch is good only for magazine testers. Its not good when you race and accidentally switch your map. Many pro riders eliminate all map and fancy "buttons" from handlebar
BUT what about the cut depth ? is the grass collection bag extra ? what other accessories can i get ? like a thatcher or log splitter? 4strokes are the #Real-dolls of motocross racing drink your hateraide!
I have 3 different deposits at 3 different dealers for this bike and can't get anything solid about when it will be released and available. Rideing hondas for 32 years and with the way I've been treated and lied to I might take my 10k and get a green or blue bike the dealers have no problem giving me all the info I've asked for.
The 450 and 250 are both the same size, but the 450 is more powerful. It depends more on skill level than it does on size when you're deciding to try a 250 or 450. Which bikes have you ridden so far?
I want to but I need a 250 so i can race because I’m only 15 and once I turn 16 people in the 450 class would’ve already been on the 250 and now on the 450 so my best chance is by starting on a 250 I’ve been riding since I was four but not on a track which doesn’t apply to the track, just being comfortable on two wheels

Well done indeed
I agree Josh is excellent in his descriptions of the 2021 Honda, the bike looks like a great ride
This video from the one camera angle shows how steep glen helens climbs are 😲
I can attest from the GH 24. They are so steep, no matter how hard you try to stop, you will be going faster at the bottom. Freaky at night.
