It's so surreal having watched your first review of the University of Melbourne mere months ago when I was still deciding which university to go to, and now actually being here and recognising all these places on campus that you've visited - the study spaces, courtyards and lecture halls, that I now come to daily. Thanks for making these, Rob. They really were helpful at such a crucial stage following Year 12.
Hi Rob, I am So happy you found three students. That went there because of you! Remember for those future students to go to Open days and don't be afraid to ask your future teachers questions on what you'll be learning and what they have to offer in the way of facilities and support, if you either A fall behind or just need help writing essay's.
UniMelb looks like a good place to go to for my masters but I’m worried about the housing crisis since I already have my own unit in Sydney and I’m worried moving would make me start all over finding a place.
What masters are you looking at? Melbourne has less of an issue than Sydney because they constructed a tonne of inner city apartments. It's about $100/week cheaper than Sydney (on average).
I am currently planning to pursue masters in AI in Australia ,I have applied to Monash,University of Adelaide,UTS,RMIT,University of Sydney. Can I know which school is good for AI.
Some recommendations: don't skip out on mathematics. Often you can ignore it with these programs, but I'd say go out of your way anyway to learn some math. The most important thing to know is Linear Algebra. Take every LA course your uni has. Tailoring bases are useful for things like data cleaning and finding tangent spaces. If you can learn enough analysis to have a handle on the Fourier Transform, I'll say go for it, and after that look for Control Theory and Dynamical Systems for bandits/RL.
Hi Rob! I really enjoyed your previous review of the University of Sydney. I watch all your videos and find them super helpful. I was wondering if you could do an updated review or share if there's anything new happening there recently. Thanks a lot!
Yep, I’m going to try to get back there in the next few months. I’ll post a short next week - can you pop a comment on the USyd video just asking me to post an update? That’ll remind me to get it done!
Hey rob, I am planning on doing master of management and i have got offer from uni Melbourne, UTS and Macquarie. Could you suggest Which one would be the best out of these for the particular course?
Hi! Three excellent degrees and universities. In terms of “prestige”, the order is Melbourne, Macquarie, UTS. However, each of those programs has some real highlights. I’d particularly look at the industry collaboration they have, and look at the curricula to see which electives suit you best. Finally, Sydney and Melbourne are quite different cities (cost of living cheaper in Melbourne) and MQ and UTS are in different parts of the city, which might influence your decision too. Good luck!
I plan to take masters in Computer Science but I am not sure yet which one is better between UniMelb and UNSW especially when it comes to its graduate employability? I am hopeful for your suggestion please, thanks a lot :)
Both have awesome employability outcomes overall, but remember that every single job ever hired was for an individual - it's about YOU, not just about the uni you studied at. That's why having lots of stuff on your resume is so important: internships, volunteering, learning abroad, leadership, hobbies etc etc etc.
Hey Rob, I was thinking about studying at unimelb in 2026 and I was really excited before, but now that I’ve seen a lot of people also saying a lot of bad things about it, I have become slightly worried about whether I should go. I want to have an assured future so that’s probably why I’m reconsidering. But I feel like unimelb would’ve been a great fit for me. I want to study graphic design (B.des) could you give me advice on whether I should go? Whether this is still a good idea?
thank you so much Rob..Would u pls tell me which field is in in demand in Australia? PR or marketing? since both the courses I opted for is related to these fields..
Not too sure about that. Marketing is really broad so I think it depends what you specialise in. Anything touching on digital, AI and other future focused marketing areas would be hard to beat imo
Hi! I’m planning on to do data science from either uni of Melb or Sydney. Which one would you recommend? I plan to do dual (other being software development for bachelors)
Hey rob, what about having a PhD in astrophysics from university of Melbourne.? Any better choice than this in Australia?? What about university of Sydney on the same topic?
Hey rob. I was wondering if the job market for engineering sectors like mechanical, electrical, software and robotics is doing good rn or in the next 5-10 years . Could u answer? Also thank u for ur informative videos :)
Hi Rob as now I have got an offer from both of master information system from the university of Melbourne and business information system from monash. In terms of the course outline, there is similar. Could you please suggest? Which one I should go for? And does unimlb study harder than Monash?
hey, I'm willing to do my masters in information system/business information system. UniMelb is one of choices. Can you please tell which one did you choose in the end between the two unis you mentioned?
Yes, several times. There's already a review video on the channel, and an updated one coming in the next few months - I just finished filming it. The campus is looking great.
Great! Thanks for the video. I have applied for masters in civil engineering in monash and university of Melbourne. Which of these two would you suggest me? Could you please let me know? Thanks!
Two excellent unis and programs. Hard to make a suggestion without knowing your specific interests and goals, but I personally would lean towards Monash for engineering.
I had a poor experience at this school. I left after I couldn't contact an online tutor, I don't think the tutor existed. Easy to have a good teaching ratio when you lie.
Sorry to hear about your experience. I don’t think you can say it’s a lie when it’s from government data, and maybe you were just unlucky with the person you were trying to contact. Still, hopefully the uni can continue to improve on this sort of thing.

@@ChoosingYourUni Oh alright, that sounds great! I will dm you in the coming days then.
why did you choose unimelb? I want to do a master degree next year in AUS, but I'm so damn undecided between uni of queensland and UNIMELB

Just do masters in Univeristy of Sydney or UNSW
What masters are you looking at? Melbourne has less of an issue than Sydney because they constructed a tonne of inner city apartments. It's about $100/week cheaper than Sydney (on average).
Could be good advice depending on the topic.

For me, I like UTS and Monash for those, but all those unis have good programs.
What do I need to get my student VISA??

Hi Rob, I’m planning to do Masters in Social Work at Uni Melb. Can I get a job after my course and is it in demand?
Masters qualified graduates are always in demand so I think you should be okay.

Hi I am confused between choosing uni of Melbourne and ANU for public policy, which one you suggest
ANU is top top for that imo.
Melbourne has some specific areas of strength for sure, like higher education as an example, but overall it’s ANU for me.
@@ChoosingYourUni thank you so much, going for Anu, hope so I will see you there in next year 😍

Demand for skilled professions, like all these engineering disciplines, remains high.

Yep, up to 24 hours per week on a student visa 👍
