I absolutely loved this Sue. The mausoleum put me in dig mode, lol! I traced this Kennedy line back to c1648. Your Sir John first married Maria, who had Sir Charles, then 2nd to Elizabeth Anne. Sir Johns Baronet was created in 1836. Lady Augusta {dau of a Viscount) was married to Sir Charles who became 2nd Baronet. Their son, Sir John Charles, 3rd Bart, was married to Lady Sydney (S H M). Gladys was their dau. Their sons, Sir Ralph, 4th Bart and Sir James, 5th Bart, never married or had children, so the title reverted to a cousin. I found nowt about Capt Francis! These Kennedys are not linked with JFK. Thank you for waking up my grey matter!! Take care, stay warm. Deb.

Just because there were 11 named but only 7 coffins, I'm not sure if there will be new internments, I suppose people go off have their own families and prefer to be buried with them, interesting question
amazing tour Sue , thise coffins were beautiful , I love the inscription on that tomb of Richard dying from a blow from the cart , thanks for taking us around and thanks to John x
Beautiful graveyard! It amazes me that those coffins stacked on top of each other have collapsed due to age! Amazing condition and beautiful! Great tour Sue! Thanks💕 Congratulations on 13.5 K subs👏🏻👍🏻
I would think also being Stacked the weight would of collapsed them though over time, they probably got much lighter? Thanks for All You Do, So Close, You can Almost Touch Them
I love to see these old headstones,I wish that the church would clean them or power wash them and seal them so they can last another 400 years, I would love to do that, but I live in the states and our old cemeteries have all been damaged, it’s just so sad.. Serenity Sue, you have the best voice and Irish accent, you are so clear when you speak. I honestly could listen to you speak all day.
What a nicely kept graveyard. Even the gravestones without engraving are kept in pristine condition. Wonderful building and caskets! The airport wasn’t that much intrusive with noise. Thank you GV and Sue for the interesting tour.
Hi. I love your videos. I love old cemeteries too. I'm in the U.S and we really don't have real old cemeteries. I'm kind of envious lol. Thank you for sharing.
In the UK there are few graves with headstones earlier than the 17th century found outside of churches. Partly that's due to general poverty, the ravages of the Reformation and the Civil War and the effects of weather and time. The US was founded in the early 17th century so why are there not graveyards , graves and headstones there from that time?
Sadly, here in the US, a beautiful mauseleum like that would be quickly vandalized because there is not the same respect and reverence for the dead as in Europe. Very nice video!
Hi, oh no!! But unfortunately I have also found mausoleums completely vandalised by graverobbers or vandals here too, it's heartbreaking also some over time get flooded or just some over time have become damaged
Who ever placed the coffins was a real professional. The bottom ones on skids/feet, and the uppers on braces across the bottoms for support. Beautiful.
I believe there are 4 more interments in the mausoleum. If you look to the immediate right and left walls, half of the space is narrower than the back half. If you walked in or looked through the high back window, you would see two coffins to the left and two to the right, stacked. The length of it tells me you are only seeing the back half interments. So if you walked in, turned around you would see the other 4. the tomb was constructed narrower to the front to take up the weight of the roof over such a long span. Excellent video and nicely narrated. Cheers!
Sue I was looking at the beautiful writing they did on these old stones, and what is so amazing is how they did this before machinery was used to carve into the markers. Today the use sand blasting but I found out that hand tools are used for detailing. So you see the fine art of carving the stone to make a beautiful marker is not dead. I just subscribed to your channel, I enjoyed listening to talk about the different people that came before us.
Ahh thanks for subscribing that means a lot, you might be interested in my older videos, look for the thumbnail (video photo) to see amazing hand chiselled headstones from the 1700s they are absolutely mind blowing
It looks like people clean it. With the condition of the oak it makes one wonder if they apply wood wax with once in a while. Lots of fresh air probably keeps the mold down. Nice find Sue.
@@SerenitySueGraveyards Oak gives a golden tone. It is long lasting and tough. High class people use it still. Note a lot of ventillation. Remember the coffins in the catacombs near the gate and air were not rotted away by molds and fungus. I do wonder if it gets a clean from time to time. Nice time capsule.
I know Robert, I've found a lot here that have the most amazing details and script, just like they made it yesterday..its always a pleasure to read these stones
@@SerenitySueGraveyards yeah, I had an overwhelming desire to go there, sweep the dirt off the window ledges, off the coffins and floor and oil the wood on the coffins to protect them. I even checked to see if their names were in my family tree. I do have Kennedys but can't find a link to their names... Bless their hearts.
I suppose of all the coffins I've found, lead and wood, these certainly are the best preserved I've ever seen, which is really nice, I do wonder if at some stage someone was maintaining the inside too at least until a few years ago, I think it would be a beautiful thing to do, to get access and dust clean and oil the coffins x x so bless your heart ❤️

Dear Serenity Sue. Such beautiful cemeteries . The quality of this video is outstanding. Reading those old gravestones makes relaxing viewing -- an escape from the troubles of today's world.

Those coffins are in great condition, considering their age. Those carpenters were master craftsmen. Thank you very much Sue and GV, for a great tour.
The "bart" after the name stands for baronet. Now I'm not sure just how these things work but I know knighthoods aren't hereditary but baronetcy's are. So possible the knighthood becomes hereditary when it's attached to a baronetcy? An expert on nobility would have to sound off on this.
