Reckin I'm about the furthest south to comment thus far. I'm on the east coast along the Virginia & North Carolina stateline. We use to have actual winters back in the 80s (nothing like what you all up north have of course), but the last several years the temps might dip into the 20s (°F) but that's about the worst of it. I couldn't even tell you the last time we had a really good snow around here. At least not one that stayed on the ground for any length of time. It falls, looks pretty for a day or so, then melts away. Which is fine by me. I really don't know how you fellas up north stand it with several feet of snow on the ground for weeks or months at a time. 😅
I have the same truck or close to it. I have the 2001 GMC 2500HD but it has the 8.1 litre gas sucking engine...lol. but it is a torque monster. There is only 220,000 km on it plus it lived it's life out west and up north so it avoided all the salt on the roads until it came here to Cape Breton. Weather is just starting to stay around freezing and our heavy snow usually come in late Feb and March except for the Highlands of Cape Breton where there is snow from November to April. @@Johnnymidnight Have you painted any vehicles that have been on fire ? 2014 GMC truck bed that the paint has burnt the top half of the bed, is it any different then prepping bare metal after its cleaned up ?

I always say driving a fuel hog is still better than having car payments…..always wanted to visit Nova Scotia, hopefully one day 👍🏼
