    He's tired and just wanted to rest. They should have left him alone.

    On some Australian beaches, if seals are on the beach the lifeguards just cordon off the area around them so tourists don't harass them.

    Leave this poor Sea Lion alone. It is their habitat not yours. It is just trying to rest, so leave it alone.

    It's not like a beached whale or dolphin. It can waddle across the beach to the fish market and back to the ocean. Seems like it just wanted some R&R before heading back out. Share the beach.

    Why can't they just leave it alone. They come on the beach and rest. It's what the do. It's their habitat to begin with. There's no reason to try and get it to go back in the ocean. Just leave it alone and do your own thing. It's not bothering anyone in the first place.

    The lifeguards are being assholes sine the sea-lion is probably exhausted from escaping a shark attack and the lifeguard want to scare him backing the sea. Of course if someone tried to feed the seal the lifeguards would intervene saying your doing it harm. How ironic.

    If the sea lion is exhausted and they are pushing it back into the water, would it drown from not being able to swim due to exhaustion in the first place?

    • @onebreathvideos3886
      @onebreathvideos3886  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were trying to get the sea lion to go back in the water on its own will. Not really pushing the sea lion but getting in his space so that he might go back in the water and leave. But he stood his ground and the lifeguards let him stay on the beach. I watched him from the pier that morning for about 30 minutes just floating in the surf before he decided to rest on the beach.

      Do lifeguards have exemptions from the laws that penalize getting close to marine mammals and harassing them? If the sea lion is sick or injured, it's pretty low to haze them to get off the beach, although it's good the lifeguards ultimately let him stay.
      And aren't people in California familiar enough with wildlife to give them some space instead of crowding and gawking at them like they're bizarre alien life forms?

    • @mrnickbig1
      @mrnickbig1 7 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Yes, I am sure their actions were illegal. They were harassing it and clearly making physical contact.

    If the sea lion could speak he would be saying, "My entire family has been killed by radiation from the Fukushima disaster. Every animal in the ocean is dying and everything on earth is going to die because of this disaster. Run for the hills. Leave the poor thing alone he has been thru enough damage caused by ignorant humans. He is going to die if he stays on land, he is going to die if he goes back into the carcinogenic water from radiation poisoning.

    WTF HB lifeguards. Leave the seal lion alone and post a temp sign that tells beachgoers to not harass the animal or they'll risk a fine or ban. It's not hard.

    It's a good thing there were guys with tramp stamps around to poke at the exhausted sea lion. For a minute there, I was afraid it would be left alone or someone would call a biologist to see if it was sick.

    While on the one hand I agree that it is most likely not a danger to anyone and is just wanting to rest. The lifeguards have a responsibility to the bathers to keep the beach as safe as possible. And while there may be some adventurous souls that might want to go up and pet it, this could prove dangerous since Sean Lions can be aggressive if they feel threatened. And even though the chance is very slim that it will become aggressive with no provocation, the life guards don't want to take that chance.

    Leave the sea lion to lay in peace, he's been swimming non stop throughout the ocean's water and trying to avoid sharks and other predators that might want to harm him or eat him.
    Let him rest where he llay to catch his breathe and strength.
    They are harmless creature unless you approach them first then they have a right to be defensive.

    Jerks. Is that even a job. Beach bums, low pay know-bodies
    Let the animal rest in peace & why stare.
