    Thank you for your incredible content. You are one of the few people who actually explain in a very simplified way, yet with a scientific background behind each point. I'm 25 years old, and i almost gave up on my voice, and said that there is no way that it can be developed, then i found your videos, and i saw the difference from the get go. God bless you.     You're so in depth about everything and I absolutely love that, I clearly understand everything you're saying and I appreciate that, some tutorials i've taken in the past ended up making me feel like I was worse but I got better forcing myself, I don't want to strain my voice anymore because it hurts and the damage can be very uncomfortable even with speaking.

    I'm not really into music, but there is something about you that keeps me watching your videos, obviously the quality has improved, and what i really admire about you is that you never gave up, and your positive attitude. This gives me hope that is not to late to start a you tube channel . Again thank you for the effort that you put in , it is indeed worth it !

    This exercise was brilliant. I think it improved my singing in a radical and noticeable way in ten minutes. My voice was pretty airy (like my speech) and now I sing with greater power and less effort. I'm blown away. Thankyou!
    I had a couple of questions:
    1. I felt like the muscles holding the folds together began to feel a bit tired after about 4-5 songs. Is this a sign of over work or a sign that the muscles need to be trained for endurance?
    2. After about 4-5 songs I feel a greater mucus build up in the cords which impacts singing and wondered if this was a sign of doing it wrong
    3. Finally, when I have cord closure I can feel pressure in my body - the same kind as if I took a deep breath and keeping my mouth open let my breathing muscles relax so that air would escape but for total cord closure. Is that the sensation I should be looking for?

    This is great thankyou so much. I have been looking for a simple exercise to practice this technique for ages. I've heard it described as holding breath while continuing to sing but that doesn't really work for me because I don't understand how you can hold your breath and still create sound - there must be some air escaping surely?
    The only thing I need to clarify is you describe the difference between creating the sound at the throat - I think I can hear the difference but sometimes it's hard on TH-cam to hear subtle differences. I want to make sure I'm not practicing bad habits

    Thank you for this information. I am currently working toward more vocal cord closure. I use Gees, gugs, bups, mums, and working on vowels for this. Also straw work. Would you recommend that I add these excersises too?

    An excellent video Karyn. can I ask though, what is the difference between adduction and compression? Is there any? All that being said, I am still not sure I would have been able to do this or understand this correctly if I had not been having voice lessons. Everything is so subtle with the voice. But you have certainly made an excellent "attempt" and probably its just me. But also at this point, if I weren't settled in with my own teacher, i'd be keen to try lessons with you.

      You will feel that as you practise. It's muscle memory, and only work can achieve it. It can't be described any better that she's done it here.

    Hey I have a question about where the voice is placed. In your video about the vocal break you mentioned placing the voice right between the nose and upper lip for that particular exercise. I notice when I speak there I have really good closure and control but it’s nasal and I can only make it not nasally by placing the voice more in the mouth. Maybe I just need more practice but my question is where should the voice be placed exactly?
