      personally I ve found the best teachers in “bel canto”, which is typical Italian opera singing. I’m a rocker but bel canto is super useful since it’s the most articulated tradition in music history. Also, now bel canto has improved with science, but also with spirituality: you may know how to sing but you need that “feeling” too...

    Wow. This seemed to change everything. Not only does it sound way more rich and interesting, but this seems to help with control when you land on a note and floating to other notes is effortless.

    When I get the exact amount of air combined with just the right cord closure it feels so effortless and sounds great , like hitting a golf shot right off the sweet spot of the club. ..sadly both happen rarely and only by accident!

    Think of it like a balloon.. if you pinch the opening of the balloon and just barely let air escape, it sounds a pitch. But if you open it too much the air just rushed out and you get no pitch.

    Question. I hear a lot of bad things about vocal fry, people say to distort your voice with compression instead. You say to do both at the same time? Is this the way to distort and scream?

    This was a great video ❤️ I'm still struggling to understand how it's supposed to physically feel when done properly though... it feels like I'm restricting my throat, and my larynx is really high up. I assume that's from too much pressure/air? I either release no air or way too much 😕 and the higher I go, the more I feel like I'm being strangled.. 😞 If I try to use less air then I have poor volume and my sound fades in and out.

    This is once a secret technique, this is why Chester Bennington sound almost impossible to do, strong head voice plus compression equals endless posobilities..Ty very much Freya

  • @CorneliusHDybdahl
    @CorneliusHDybdahl 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Compression is a medical term referring to the vocal fold closure itself via the contraction of the lateral cricoarytenoid, oblique arytenoid, and transverse arytenoid muscles. It does not refer to the rise in pulmonary or subglottic pressure.

  • @midnightwind8067

    The instant I hear vocal fry, I switch off the song. It is the most annoying and fake sounding garbage used by posers and pretentious people who don’t have a real song to sing in the first place. If the song isn’t strong enough, then find another. You ain’t all that sexy as you think that fake, non talent sound makes you appear. It’s not unique. It’s not cool. It’s unoriginal and sheep like groupthink. Yes I hate it that much.
