    I have been hanging out on your channel the last few days binging a lot of your videos. I cannot even tell you how helpful you are. I have been a vocal lesson junkie for 20 years. I have bought many vocal programs, even worked with one of the Best vocal technicians in the world Belcanto style. The problem is my first 20 years of life I was told never to use my head voice, so I spent about 15 years, never using my head voice and pulling up chess voice and using a lot of compression. Only the Belcanto teacher could get me to Not having these problems during lessons, but that was only with a operatic sound. And even her lessons were hard to do with a quiet voice. I have been doing your lessons and they are helping me with the belcanto lessons as well. I am able to reach high notes with a soft voice, which is something I never thought I could do. I am learning to use my mid range in a more comfortable way as well. It still hurts when I talk sometimes because I did lower even my speaking voice, but every video I do with you is hopeful. I know this is long, I am sorry about that. But I want you to know thatnow when the TH-cam algorithm pulls up vocal lessons, I am not in kind to watch anything but you because I know your videos will be helpful. Thank you so much for what you do!

      It has been a popular myth to avoid head resonance - so many develop those same bad habits. I'm so happy you are finding a more balanced approach! It works for any genre. Happy singing!

    Hey Mark - this is easily the single most useful singing video I've ever found, full stop. Matching pipe to pitch as an exercise/metaphor for placement/range/resonance is incredibly helpful. Thank you thank you thank you!!! All your videos are fantastic, but for me this one has made a big difference!

      Conceptualize a church organ - each note has it own pipe (unique diameter and length). That's exactly what our vocal tract can do . . . if we let it. Don't get stuck singing with ONE pipe!

    This is an amazingly effective hearing test for my cats, as they suddenly appeared just a few seconds after starting to sing along, so they're totally not deaf~ Oh, it turns out that when singing with my fullest resonant voice, that my Tympanic Tensor does its thing, and that's the sound I was hearing that I thought was hearing hairs moving around. Oh, you mentioned using sound to loosen mucus, yeah that's an amazingly effective and helpful tip to loosen mucus~

    Great video! Quick question---you made some videos about vocalizing to reduce swelling. I was curious----if I have hoarseness that *improves* and eventually goes away by vocalising, could it be possible that I might have nodes? Or is it most likely something like acid reflux (I know I have acid reflux)?

    • @voicelessondotcom

    • @voicelessondotcom
      @voicelessondotcom  ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't have to do anything consciously. Your body is not stupid. if the sound you're asking for requires more air pressure you'll create it. If it doesn't, you won't. Just like you don't instruct your legs how to walk faster when your late - your breathing will respond to your circumstance - if you stop thinking about it.

      @@voicelessondotcom This visual resource provided me a wonderful means of internalizing how notes reverberate differently within our bodies’ various “resonator”s. I understand, from your May Mee Mah Moh Moo video, that there are multiple resonators in our bodies. Is this correct? If there are multiple, what are they? The nasal cavity, the larynx, the mouth maybe? Just curious if you have this info off the noggin

    • @voicelessondotcom
      @voicelessondotcom  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@bilbodabbins8273 Yes - the various resonators are the windpipe, pharynx, oral and nasal cavities. All together they make up the vocal tract. The pharynx and oral cavities are highly adjustable regarding their diameter, length and shape. Each sound we make requires a custom resonator. The TP rolls simply indicate the change in the overall resonating space. Big sound = big space, etc. Hope that helps!
