60% of Evoque sales go to households who already have a Defender, LR4, or Range Rover. It is a great city vehicle and equally capable if your going to the ski lodge. We have 3 full size Range Rovers plus a Evoque. We love the Evoque for city driving (glass roof is amazing in NYC.) Better gas mileage, interior is superb and yes it does deserve to have the Range Rover badging. If your buying a Evoque to do the same trails as a Defender or Disco well then obviously your setup for disaster because that is not the intention of design for the Evoque. But don't be fooled it can pull itself in tight situations as shown above in the video. Great vehicle.
People Really interested in OffRoad Driving Should buy a Diffender This is a Perfect All Rounder ( Offroad, Sport, Luxury, Family ) thumbs up for EVOQUE !!
Evoque is perhaps a masterpiece by Range Rover. The off-road test here was stupid. Why? Because the driver here drives recklessly not keeping in mind the ground clearance and is driving so fast over the rocks and stuff. I mean who does that!! Testing method-FAIL.
Actually, for a crossover that was no easy trail. I'd done loads of off-roading and the videos never give it justice! Plus, some of the damage could have been avoided with a better driver. A Freelander 2 can do exactly the same as another car can do. If the driver in the FR2 is much better!
Really nice footage - proving much of the point, but never the less a bit supplementary Journalism would have been nice IMO. Anyway I like the Evoque - it´s the best looking in it´s class and apparently also the best offroader (In it´s class). Wonder if we are going to see really offroad mooded/equipped Evoques around ?. Thanks for the Vid.
As a "light duty" off-roader or all-road/weather car it does a brilliant job - just like the Freelander...but whilst I like the Evoque, the facts are that it's in no way equal to the Range Rover / Range Rover Sport in terms of it's off-road ability. - If the Evoque's (cheaper and road-biased) chassis design and systems were all that was needed for serious off-road work, the full-size Range Rover would use them too.
I have the same car and 20" wheels are yes wholeheartedly useless on mud and grass of that nature. Overhangs are way too low, but to be fair looking at some of the footage Tom was probably driving too fast across some of the terrain, cardinal rule of of green laning is control, not speed.
Having had some one rear end me at less than 5 miles an hour and wrecking the rear skid pan I can tell you now that that was 2500 GBP of damage he inflicted on that poor Evoque by driving too fast off road.
Best Evoque Video I have seen and I seen a LOT. Also gives me ideas. I wish all car review where made like this. HARD CORE! NOW I would like to buy one. Also address the Evoque only for Girls bullshit Ignorant people say. Great Video! Thanks.
"I'm not paying $46,000+ for a Ford turbo 4 banger." Is it the fact that it was developed by Ford, a company who can spend a multitude of what Land Rover themselves could ever effort to put into the development of an engine? Or is it the fact that it is a 4 cylinder? I personally care more about power and refinement than number of cylinders. If it's about the price: Come on, we all know you don't pay the 46k for the engine. A car is a lot more than an engine.
so lets get this straight in my head ?? Non Standerd Tyres Extra Protection and Bumpers fall off And you need a Defender to help when your stuck Leave this to the city streets after all its nothing more than a Freelander with a small rear window really Clever marketing but not a real off roader
Why must offroad brands keep up the marketing ruse on all their models? This is far from an offroad vehicle. It got to the top? lol modified, broken, and with two recovery vehicles. Lets leave offroad to the Defenders.

Stefan really liked this car. He drove with his friend Ewald through a place he called Eckstein and said it was a blast!

looks like it has less ground clearance than the freelander 1
Defenders rule, Evoque is still a nice car tho no doubt it will be ok in the snow and light off roading.
Esperava mais do RR Evoque.
Having had some one rear end me at less than 5 miles an hour and wrecking the rear skid pan I can tell you now that that was 2500 GBP of damage he inflicted on that poor Evoque by driving too fast off road.
Totally Agreed..!!

Do people actually expect this car to perform better than a Defender?!
hey didn't that guy used to be on 5th Gear?
I'll take a Cherokee Trailhawk and be done with it. If you're really looking for an off-road/on-road capable SUV, no other vehicle comes close.

The new jeep cherokee blows this away, and i'm not a jeep fan.
the red car seems more powerful than evogue
It's really jus a rich persons toy now....
