I can understand if you're the third guy doing auric maelstrom damnation and you're dying with a sub-meta (or at least an unoptimized build). That will genuinely piss me off if you can't pull your own weight. But if it's like normal damnation or heresy you should be competent enough to bring a meme build. Problem is, some people genuinely think they're good at the game and tell other people they're good, but they can barely do normal damnation or even sometimes heresy and try to tell people they're garbage. Like my guy you're not even half of the way through the run and you had to be carried by my ass the entire run cause you wouldn't stop dying to a trapper or pox burster.

Man, i love darktide, it's one of those fames where you look away for 5 seconds and gou go from playing a funny game about conscripted into killing redditor demons from the plane of emotions to having killed half the population of new york city, the twin towers have fallen again, every person has gone feral (average nyc resident tbf) all your friends are dead, and you need to beat each person in a game of 4d chess to survive even a minute, all the while acting like a kindergardener sniffing glitter glue like its 100% pure cocaine. I play public lobbies 99% of the time because all my friends have lives and... I've grown jaded and cruel as a person lol. I will ignore players who drop the 3rd time in as many minutes, writing them off as access baggage. I'm always alone in this so I'll cover the people trying their damnedest to carry the weak links, only for them to shoot the burster in everyones face later and grab all the ammo later 🤡
I came to Darktide from DRG so it took me a good while to learn not to overextend and get myself killed tryna help those guys. Although going down frequently isn't so bad as long as they do it close to the team

Thanks for the epilepsy warning, but let's be honest here. Darktide is epileptic inducing and enough to make a motion sick person puke even as a Veteran Class (my main). The warning should just say Decent Darktide Gameplay and above.
Not all. Sometimes they leave. Sometimes no. Some ppls get butthurting and fly away (immediately exit) or just understanding about self embarrassing by don't look around by leaving a group.
In all honesty, I've encountered very few problematic public games. Of course when I DO get shit teammates it's the absolute worst experience you can imagine, ranging from death threats in the chat, to team members just flat out refusing to assist or co-operate in any capacity, then yell at you for it.
Coming here like it's an AA meeting after wasting 3 hours failing missions due to my squads ignoring cohesion... on malice missions. Most of these players are running lvl 30 characters.

I've had mostly good experiences with people on damnation, most people are very chill ingame, especially compared to the behavior on the forums and reddit and stuff.
I thought so too, now I only play Auric Maelstrom. Took me a few months to be comfortable, and I'm not elite at shooters or anything. Some are easier than others though. If you see I-IX-EF, either run away, or turn on the recording because it's gonna get real crazy. Oh, and I have rarely seen people getting kicked, and I've seen all kinds in Auric.
The difficulty is also a bit of a catch-22. While higher difficulties are definitely more dangerous, that's also where the better players are, so it evens out. And yeah, people tend to be pretty chill. This patch kinda saved the game. Previously, you were always at the mercy of the RNG for rewards, but now getting the best items is just a matter of playing, gathering and crafting, so if you lose a match, it's no biggy. It never was tbh, but now even less.
As someone who just started playing this game. It pretty intimidating to play harder difficulties. I dont look up builds and just try my hardest to eradicate everything and be a team player. But damn, this game is fun. The big guy is fun, but the psyker is more fun but easier to die as. Gonna try my first 3x difficulty in a bit. Still dont know what im doing but hopefully the team does.
As a pub only player, its an awful experience. Every team has the sped and the zealot main. #3 is either playing from a McDonald's in Bangladesh or taking up permanent residence in my firing line. At least its therapeutic to yell and degrade the bunch of em.
