@BXZ5097 BXZ you sound like an idiot. "Yo" is used by pretty much everyone regardless of age or where they live. You should probably get out from under that rock instead of learning everything from movies.
Shaybah planning to kill Muhammad ibn `Abdullah, confessing faith, reluctance when they were planning going against Thaqif and Hawazin, having a deep faith after his exorcism and supplication for him, and his pious life makes enough of the life that no more to make it a life worth telling more about. The Battle of Hunayn really being a main battle and hundreds taking part in secondary missions in the expedition is an important detail for those who think wars are just battle after battle. Abu Burdah ibn Abu Muwsa al asharee passing on the story of his father and uncle being supplicated for must be a type of story that was forgotten for most it was done for. Masjid Ibn Abbass being upon the location of the camp and it being the main masjid of Attaaa'if later shows the reformists how wrong they were in destroying most of the masajid and other places connected The supplication of Muhammad leading the crowd asking for them to be guided instead of cursed is a lesson for us in how we deal with our enemies. The turtle for the men to scuffle with to avoid oil and arrows is a case that we can seek technology from secular sources. The case of Khalid ibn Waleed killing an innocent woman may have made Islam's legacy of avoiding the non combatants in war greater. The first 4 Khulafah being wounded in Hunayn there and that the siege of Ta'if being separate are important to remember. The battle having a quarter of the deaths on their side compared to the siege and the loss of the second does show that not even the right side can be expected to win all the time, but the important. The wealth left behind in the war being given out massively to soften hearts to Islam and gain a better political reputation is likened to a number of verses, but that outlet of voluntary spending mentioned in Al Qoor'aan 9.60 is key to me. The stopping of the burning of the fields has also increased the legacy of Islam in minimizing destruction of the agriculture in war. Three Lesser Pilgrimages after the intended Lesser Pilgrimage, but before the Combination of Lesser and Greater Pilgrimages when one Greater Pilgrimage is an important thing to consider. 48'6" in the East, 33 in the North, 46"5' in the West, and 30' in the South instead of 36'2" by 42'2" by 39'6" and the moving of the curved wall to the spots that archeology does show was the original spacing would give way to more archaeoastronomy than the current structure.
Maybe the reason why their properties and belongings would be given back if they accepted Islam is not because it was a "bribe" as the sheikh says, but because once a person accepts islam he or she is your brother/sister and their belongings would be haram on another Muslim to take. Same with slaves being freed, not a bribe, but because slavery was abolished in Islam. Just my opinion. Allah Knows Best.
Episodes 82 & 83: Part 2 and Final Part The Siege of Taif The Prophet SAW had the Muslims put all of the spoils of war into the valley of Al Jirana, near Hunayn and left behind a guard detail to protect it. The Prophet SAW then lead the rest of the army to Taif in order to besiege the city. The city of Taif was a very wealthy fortress city that was rich in green unlike Makkah. The people of Taif had built a giant wall around their city and built upon it turrets, in the event of an attack. The people of Taif had enough supplies to last them a year and they had enough plants to grow their own food. They also had running water. All of this meant that they were prepared for war. The Prophet SAW prior to departing Makkah, had sent Urwah Ibn Masud RA to another tribe skilled in warfare, in order to learn the art of making a catapults, turtle shields and battering rams. Urwah RA had returned after the Muslims had camped outside Taif. There Urwah RA taught the Muslims and they made a catapult, a turtle shield and a battering ram, outside the city of Taif. - The Siege Begins The Muslims then begun besieging the city. Initially, the Muslims attempted to use the turtle shield and battering ram. But, the shield was not built well and thus many Muslims were killed by arrow fire. The catapults were also used but they did not break the door to Taif. The Prophet SAW then suggested that, the Muslims retreat and leave the people of Taif for now. However, the Muslims were adamant at proceeding. The Muslims as the days went by, became desperate and thus began burning the crops outside of Taif. This caused the people of Taif to plead with the Muslims to stop this. When the Prophet SAW saw this, he forbid the Muslims from burning anymore crops. The Prophet SAW also made the announcement that, anyone who joins the Muslims from Taif will be protected and that any slave who joins will be freed. This led to many slaves sneaking out of Taif and joining the Muslims. The siege lasted almost two weeks, before the Prophet SAW once more advised the Muslims to retreat. This time the Muslims agreed due to the demoralization they had gone through after the death of many Muslims. Before the Muslims left Taif, they asked the Prophet SAW to make dua against the people of Thaqif. The Prophet SAW instead made dua to Allah SWT, asking him to guide the people of Taif to them. The Prophet SAW then left Taif and returned to Al Jirana. - Aftermath The Prophet SAW then waited at Al Jirana for 1 week, in hopes the Hawazin would return and negotiate for their wealth and loved ones. But, no one showed up. Thus the Prophet SAW began giving out the spoils of war and at least a dozen people received unique shares. Abu Sufyan RA received 100 camels, as did Safwan Ibn Umayya. Muawiyah RA also received a large spoil of war and so did Al Harith Ibn Hisham RA. Every group received spoils of war except one group, the Ansar. The led to some from amongst the younger Ansar to become upset that, they did not receive anything. Sa’d Ibn Ubadah RA informed the Prophet SAW of this issue and the Prophet SAW told him to gather all of the Ansar in his tent. The Prophet SAW then gave a passionate sermon praising the Ansar and then asked them, “Why are you upset when the other Muslims go home with money and you are going home with the Prophet of Allah SWT?” which made the Ansar cry and brought an end to any issue they had. When all of the war booty had been distributed, the Hawazin came to negotiate and became Muslims. They asked the Prophet SAW to return their wealth and families to them but, this had all already been distributed to the fighters. So, the Prophet SAW told them to choose between their wealth or their family. They chose their families and thus the Prophet SAW was able to help them get back all of their families for free without a ransom. There were some new Muslim tribes who were unwilling to give the families for free and thus the Prophet SAW promised them spoils of war from any future conflict. Thus the Hawazin got back their families and remained as Muslims. After the Hawazin had been given back their families. The Prophet SAW asked them “Where is your leader Malik Ibn Awf?” and they informed him that he is in Taif. Thus the Prophet SAW told the Hawazin to go and tell Malik that, he can come and take back his wife, his children and 100 camels if he accepts Islam. When Malik was told this, he agreed to these terms. Malik RA was also reinstated as the leader of his tribe by the Prophet SAW. The Prophet SAW and the Muslims then left Al Jirana and made their way to Makkah. On the way to Makkah, the Prophet SAW then put on his Ihram in order to perform his 3rd Umrah. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW stated prior to the Battle of Hunayn that, there was a Prophet AS once who had a mighty army. However, he felt arrogance and thus Allah SWT sent a disease to wipe out his army. Fun Trivia fact: Allah SWT mentions 2 battles in the Qur’an by name. Badr and Hunayn. Fun Trivia fact: Someone who commits Shirk, Biddah or Kufr doesn’t automatically become a Kafir, Mushrik or Mubtadee. It’s the scholars who will dictate the verdict. The Hadith of Abu Waqid RA is the best example of this. Fun Trivia fact: During the Battle of Hunayn, Khalid RA killed a woman who was on the side of the polytheist army. When the Prophet SAW saw her body, he commanded Khalid RA, never to kill women, children or the elderly. Fun Trivia fact: During the Battle of Hunayn, Shayba Bin Uthman, tried to assassinate the Prophet SAW, in revenge for his father who was killed at Uhud. But, when Shayba tried to do so, a flaming light came in between him and the back of the Prophet SAW and he felt like his face was going to be burned. The Prophet SAW realised what was going on and made dua to Allah SWT to grant Shayba eman. Immediately, Shayba’s heart became strong with eman and he took his Shahadah. Fun Trivia fact: The largest spoils of war the Muslims ever acquired, was after the Battle of Hunayn. Khaybar would be the second largest. Fun Trivia fact: There is a weak narration that, the Prophet SAWs foster mother, Halima, also was with Shayma as a prisoner of war. Both were set free and sent back to their tribe. Fun Trivia fact: Abu Hasan Al Ash’ari, the founder of the Ashari school, is the ancestor of Abu Musa Al Ash’ari RA. Who is a companion of the Prophet SAW that, participated in the Battle of Hunayn. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW camped at a place outside of Taif during the Siege of Taif. This spot is now known as Masjid Abdullah Al Abbas, which is in the centre of Taif. Fun Trivia fact: Burning crops of the enemy is allowed in the Shariah, but only in extreme circumstances. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW gave away all of the wealth from Hunayn until nothing was left. The Prophet SAW took nothing for himself. Fun Trivia fact: It was during the distribution of the spoils of Hunayn that, a man approached the Prophet SAW and claimed he was not distributing the Anfal properly. He actually thought he was more righteous than the Prophet SAW and Umar RA wanted to kill him. But the Prophet SAW forbade this and prophesised that, people with this fanatical mindset will appear until the day of Judgement. In one narration the Prophet SAW called this man a Kharijite. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW performed 4 Umrahs during his lifetime and only one Hajj. The 4 Umrahs were: The Umrah that was done with Hajj, the Umrah after the Siege of Taif, Umrah Al Qadha and the Umrah of Hudaybiyyah that, the Prophet SAW didn’t physically do because of the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah. But, Allah SWT gave him the reward for it anyways. Fun Trivia fact: The Shia don’t disrespect all of the Sahabah RA. There are some they respect, one of these is Adi Ibn Hatim RA. Fun Trivia fact: All the wives of the Prophet SAW apart from Aisha RA were divorcees. Fun Trivia fact: The Prophet SAW would do Dua for and against his enemies. Fun Trivia fact: Committing Major Shirk out of ignorance doesn’t make you a kafir. ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. I was wondering about Juwairiyah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) conversion to Islam. I remember thinking ‘wasn’t bribery used to convert her?’. I was unsure if it was halal or haram. Thank you for answering my doubts dr yasir.
