Alhamdulillah, today I watched 9 episodes of this Seerah. Episode 78-86 by doubling the speed.
That ruins it for me haha. I like to listen to it normally I'm not rushed or anything 👍
This is not preparation for an exam so I dont know why you would do that. Digest it.
One of my teachers (حفظه الله) once highlighted to me a wisdom regarding the reason for legislation that allows for having a Riqq/Ammah.
He (حفظه الله) explained that in Islamic Law, a person usually becomes a Riqq/Ammah in a war situation. He (حفظه الله) then explained that the Riqq/Ammah is treated, in practice, similar in some respects (albeit not identical) to a person who is under ones guardianship or a live-in butler/maid/nanny in that these individuals are cared for, fed (to the same standard as their "owner" or better), clothed (the same standard as their "owner" or better), should not be treated in an ill manner, etc.
He (حفظه الله) went on to explain that it is very common in war/post-war scenarios for civilians to have to resort to prostitution, theft, etc. to survive on account of the dire war/post-war situation. This is something very common throughout history and even apparent in our own era (e.g. the massive increase in prostitution, including child prostitution, in Iraq since its invasion. See the numerous reports/studies for details). By making these vulnerable people a Riqq/Ammah, these individuals are protected and cared for and not left to fend for themselves in an environment that will have them being forced to resort to prostitution, theft, etc. Nonetheless, while an option to make these vulnerable people a RIqq/Ammah, it is not necessarily something that should necessarily be implemented. As Dr Yasir Qadhi (حفظه الله) pointed out, Islam very strongly promotes freeing of slaves too.
Furthermore, it's also very important to remember that Islamic Law has a code/guidelines which dictate the good manner in which they should be treated, the option for them to buy their freedom, etc. so as to ensure that they are not treated in an ill manner as a Riqq/Ammah. Islamic Law also very strongly encourages, as Dr Qadhi (حفظه الله) discussed, freeing them.
Sadly though, there are many (both Muslim and non-Muslim alike) who do n't quite understand the Islamic view and incorrectly assume that the slavery that was common is North America/Europe/etc is the same as the Islamic view. It's not the same. Not at all!
Quite frankly, I feel that the way in which Islaam treats the very real issues that are faced in a post-war situation is very humane and pragmatic

Well said. I even think about the living conditions of most employees in the world. A lot of them literally have lower standards of living than that of a person who would potentially be a Riqq/ammah. Especially low wage workers. Find me an employee that dresses the same way their ceo does, or eats the same food, etc
Does anyone see the Prophet's (SAW) gift of the 100 camels malik-ibn-alf (sp?) as the prophet giving his tribe a startup fund after they were freed, but had to give up their property? It's amazing how perfect it all is. He is merciful and is going to want to help the people out, and they are leaderless; put the chief in control with 100 camels and his people can rebuild but now as Muslims and the Ummah has grown one tribe bigger. It fits just perfect... Kindness and generosity grow exponentially once they reach a certain thresh-hold; it must have been wonderful.

Wow amazing MashAllah topic on benfits and lessons. Especially on slavery and how Islam dealt with this institution and how cruel the modern system of American and European slavery was, the worst in human history and hardly any complaints about this. Simple academic open minded look at how Islam treated slaves will show Muslims were light years ahead then even European treating their own citizens.

it would be useful to have the slavery explanation on a separate video. Well explained.
Slavary is the most difficult portion to digest from the Seerah! Many young Muslims I have talked to even said, They will left Islam if it is true and I remain silent on this issue!
Those who want to leave Islam just because of the issue on slavery, tell them: Today we are slaves of technology.
If they are knowledgeable or wise, they will understand this statement.
Let me tell you that you are a big Mushrik and Munafiq because you want to create your disease in the mind of Muslims. Our children will never get your disease Insha Allah because they were born in legitimate marriage. They are not born after their mother slept with 100 different men then she got pregnant and then she doesn’t know who the father is. So say whatever you want. Episode 84 & 86
The Events Between Siege of Taif and Battle of Tabuk
After the Siege of Taif, the Prophet SAW began installing Muslim leaders and governors in provinces around Arabia, as well as sending out teachers, to teach the new Muslims about Islam.
- The Conversion of Ka’b Ibn Zuhayr RA
Ka’b Ibn Zuhayr was one of the most famous poets in Arabia in the lifetime of the Prophet SAW. Ka’bs father was one of the authors of the 7 Muallaqat. Ka’b was opposed to Islam and would mock Islam. This mockery only increased after his own brother became a Muslim and he even went to the extremes of slandering Muslim women in his poems. Due to this, everyone knew that Ka’b would not be forgiven. After the Conquest of Makkah, Ka’b was sent a letter by his brother to accept Islam or leave Arabia because he would be killed. Ka’b upon receiving the letter and realising his situation decided to contemplate on Islam.
Eventually, Ka’b decided to embrace Islam and thus he travelled to Makkah and took his Shahadah at the hands of the Prophet SAW. After his conversion, Ka’b RA composed a poem for the Prophet SAW and this poem moved the Prophet SAW so much that, he gave Ka’b RA his own cloak. The Prophet SAW then told Ka’b RA to atone for his past by praising the Ansar in his poems. After this, Ka’b RA lived a very righteous life.
- Expeditions
The Prophet SAW began conquering smaller tribes in Arabia and then also sent out expeditions all around Arabia in order to remove polytheism from the peninsular. Some of the most notable expeditions were:
1. The Expedition of At Tufail Ibn Amr RA in Yemen to destroy the idol of Yaguth.
2. The Expedition of Jarir Ibn Abdullah Al Bajali RA to destroy the idol of Dhul Khalasa in Yemen and to destroy the Yemeni Kabah.
3. The Expedition of Ali Ibn Talib RA to Banu Tayy, to destroy their idol Al Qullus. Shortly after this, their chief Adi Ibn Hatim RA became Muslim.
Important Events in the Life of the Prophet SAW in 8 AH:
- A Marriage & a divorce: Fatimah Bint Dhak RA, also known as Bint Al Jawan, (She has many names) married the Prophet SAW and she was divorced by him on their wedding night. The marriage wasn’t consummated. She was divorced because she viewed herself to be of a high status. Although there are numerous theories on why she was divorced.
- Death of Zaynab Bint Muhammad RA: Zaynab RA died from the long term injuries caused to her, during her Hijrah, by Al Habir Ibn Al Aswad RA after he caused her camel panic. Zaynab RA suffered for years until she died in 8 AH. She was the second daughter of the Prophet SAW to pass away.
- A Birth: Ibrahim RA son of Prophet SAW was born in 8 AH. But dies in 10 AH.

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series.
Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it.
You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes.
One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah.

I am confused 😇 about interpreting the word ta'alluq...what is meant by qudrat Allah? According to terms in the study of TAUHID , there are many meanings, depending on the conditions..🙏
It means to have a relation. For example, you are standing with your brother or sister and someone comes and say what’s your Talluq to this person? And you say its my brother or sister. I hope its clear to you now Inshaa Allah

There is two huge mistakes that the sheik fill into the first one is the that the story of the distribution of the booty happened after Hunayn and after the siege of Alta'if and it was for the booty of the Hunain war. The second huge blunder that the sheik fill into that he assumes and thinks and openly say that the prophet SAW had taken the whole booty all and then distributed it. the truth is that the army "Ansar and Muhajreen" each and everyone got their share of the 4/5 of the booty and the huge amounts that the prophet was giving away was from his 1/5 which is 20% but because the booty is so huge 20% was also huge one example there was 24000 Camel 80% 19200 so each fighter got 1.6 Camel of course there was some trading 10 sheep is one camel and so on, Now the 20% for the Prophet is 4800 Camels the total number of people mentioned in the seerah that were given on that day 40-50 people and some were getting 50 camels some 100 so the total is about 5000 camels the prophet has no right to take the whole booty and these spoils have a shar3i way of dividing it. Inshallah I will be elaborating on these mistakes in a series of videos I will be publishing insha Allah Taala.
When you elaborate on these 'mistakes' as you put it make sure it's not a cowardly video where you hide behind text. Show the world your face and let them hear your voice if you ever want your opinion to be remotely considered. While I agree mankind is fallible, there are better ways to address mistakes rather then in this forum. Fact is you are nowhere near as qualified as the Shaykh and your opinion matters little compared to somebody who has done the ummah a great service by providing us with 100+ hours of seerah material. May Allah bless you Shaykh Yasir and accept from you all your good actions and intentions and protect you from the mischief makers.

Secondly I never claimed to be more knowledgeable than the shiekh and if you know anything about our religion its not a dis-qualifier. You can point out the mistakes of people who are more knowledgeable, Thirdly if you have a reason to show that I made a mistake in my information please point them out, but if you find it easier and more satisfying and gets you more brawny points with the shiekh to attack me personally knock yourself out its your 7asanat and Allah knows I need them badly. Naveed Iqbal thats a very good point, but If I told you that I have approached the shiekh many many times in halaqa and outside the halaqa I even gave it to him written on paper. to no avail. I even got attacked the same way you did in halaqa too. so if you have another way please let me know. Plus his videos are public. Listen Brother if you think that criticizing the shiekh is somehow is degrading or hurtful ask him and see if he thinks he is above criticism?
